We stayed in the Telephone Room for 4 nights in June 2019 while attending a wedding at Chateau Rigaud nearby. The bedroom and bathroom were very spacious, there was plenty of space to hang our clothes and store luggage, and the bed was comfortable. I was a bit concerned about noise given it's an old house with our bedroom doors opening onto the main hallway, but we slept so well and never heard a peep from the hallway or above. The chateau is decorated in a very charming way, and the hospitality provided by the owners, staff, and family dogs was very warm, genuine, and professional. Jacquie's cakes and snack platters are absolutely delicious and so nice to linger over in the tea room, patio, and back terrace (we enjoyed a lot of platters throughout our stay) along with their wide offering of wine. The estate is beautifully kept, with gorgeous views of the surrounding hills, especially at sunset. The village of Gensac is a stone's throw away, and the charming town of St Emilion is only 30 minutes by car. Beautiful place for couples, families, or even solo travelers to stay. We look forward to returning one day!

Stayed for one night before attending a wedding in Chateau Rigaud. Chateau Carbonneau is very beautiful outside and homely inside. Our room, Chambre du Parc was lovely. The following morning, we were looking forward to sitting outside and enjoying our breakfast, while taking in the view. However, the long table had been set up for all guests staying. Six guests had eaten and a family of three were seated when we arrived. The previous guests plates etc had not been cleared and it was hard to identify what was clean. We waited 10 minutes and then went looking for someone to clear the dirty plates, reset the table and refresh the breakfast. In the end we gave up and checked out. Frustratingly, after a 15 minute wait for someone to check us out, I shared why we were leaving without breakfast before going to sightsee in Bergerac and how disappointed we were. The response was an apology, followed by the opportunity to buy wine before we left!

We stayed last year for my birthday as a surprise weekend and we had a fantastic time!! The owners are soooo lovely and they really take excellent care of you. The place is older yet romantic and you have some cozy areas as the cristal room and living room where you can cuddle with a nice cup of tea or a coffee. The owner bakes the most delicious chocolate Guinness cake we have ever tried and also we enjoyed a nice tapas dinner on our night there. Everything is just flavourful and you can just tell that is made with love. We also experienced a guided winery tour. The owner is so passionate about wines and he takes all the time to explain you all the details and work that takes to make one. Definitely a lovely experience that I will always remember. The grounds are impeccable with greenery and calm all around. I definitely recommend this place for a relax couple's time off. Thank you so much for your amazing service!

We stumbled across Chateau Carbonneau while driving around the area and we were made to feel very welcome. Everyone really enjoyed the wine tasting and ended up buying a couple of bottles to take away with us. We loved the beautiful grounds and friendly dogs. Lovely place to visit!
