Loved this place. We were on the last leg of a five day walking holiday in the Bordeaux region of France. The day's leg was Sautern to Barsac. Some 16k on quite a warm day. So it was a pleasure to arrive at Chateau Camperos which is very pretty indeed. We had a comfortable room, with a Nautical theme, on the... More

We returned to Camperos with friends this year after a wonderful visit last year. On arrival the Chateau is very imposing - but the warmest of welcomes awaits you! Paul has a great sense of humour, and nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are gorgeous old French and grand , each with a specific character of its own -... More

What elegance, charm, and hospitality we enjoyed while we stayed here for 5 nights. If you want to stay in a chateau that is reasonable in cost, has immaculate huge rooms and excellent food-stay here! Be sure to have dinner here because our hostess, Brigitte, can seriously cook. I especially loved the library. Not so much for the books, but... More

This chateau house, built around 1870, retains all of its original beauty and detail both externally and internally. Stunning! The French owners, Paul and Bridget, are most welcoming. The breakfast and dinner are excellent. Got lost trying to find it so look for the D118 on the south side of Barsc town centre, 100 meters past the level crossing, on... More

After a long cycle throughout the day we ended up at paradise! Had a nice swim, hot tub, then Paul drove us to a local vineyard for free wine tasting. Brigette is a fantastic cook and we had the best dinner we had our whole trip. Wish we could stay longer, we will DEFINITELY be back. Oh and I loved... More

We stayed at this chateau for a few days. The bedroom is huge. The bathroom has everything you need. There is a beauriful garden with a heated swimming pool and jacuzzi. You get towels to use at the swimming pool. The chateau is a few hundred meters from the railway station. We didn't experience noise from the train, but we... More

This place is fantastic. We stayed in "Le Chateau de Camperos" for three nights. It's the best Chambre D'Hotes we've found in France. The place and the castle are superb. The Hall is marvelous and so oriental. The rooms are superbs in comfort, decor and space. There are different types of rooms and themes : Africa, Asia Suite, India, the... More

We stayed here as part of a self guided walking tour by Evazio. We were greeted by Bridgette and as we were early were directed into the town were we found that no places were open until after 3:30pm so we waited to get a small something to eat and while the time away. When we returned we were warmly... More

We have stayed at this beautiful family home during our trip with our three small daughters. It wasn't hard for us to convince them that they were sleeping at the real princess castle and after our tour of the Loire valley this was a treat for them. The chateau was clean and reasonably we'll kept but not meticulously restored like... More
