We just returned from 2 weeks at La Paloma and it more than lived up to our expectations. The hotel itself is beautiful - from the garden you see when you first open the entrance door, to the colours of the walls, the murals by the pool, the pool itself, and the beach and bay you walk down to from the pool area. Our room, #11, was spacious, comfortable and well equipped. The owner, Nancy (and her wonderful dogs), the Managing Director Kyla for whom nothing was too much trouble, Rolando the Assistant Manager who was equally helpful; and all the staff, including: Isobel, who set up the complementary continental breakfast in the morning and cooked great (and very reasonably priced) items from the breakfast menu; Paco the barman, who made great margaritas; and our housekeeper who kept our room immaculately clean were all great and made us feel like family. La Paloma is a truly fantastical place!…
We just stayed last week at La Paloma Oceanfront Retreat and had a wonderful time. Our room (Oceanview #9) was terrific with a beautiful terrace, nice little kitchen, comfortable beds with mattress toppers, good WIFI and lots of hot water. Everything was spotlessly clean and the whole resort, from the lovely gardens out back to the pool and ocean access out front was wonderful. Best of all, Kyla and her staff were just great - helpful, friendly and always cheerful. We had a manicure, pedicure and massage on the grounds which was really nice. There was secure parking at the resort and nice restaurants all around so we hardly moved the car. A very relaxing and fun week. Thanks, Kyla for the room upgrade! It was just perfect.
Our room was HUGE and had gorgeous view of the ocean. The property is well maintained with beautiful gardens to admire. It's a small hotel, so you don't have to worry about overcrowding at the pool. It's a great value for those seeking a place on the beach.
Kyla and her small team of staff have created a concept for LaPaloma that is truly relaxing and laid back. Our ocean view room (#1) overlooking the pool was large, clean and comfortable. King size bed was a bit hard but this is very common for Mexico! The daily continental breakfast and menu service was a nice touch. We enjoyed our stay very much!
Bed was very hard, poor air conditioning. No elevator, our room was on the top floor, 3 stories up so quite a climb and no offer of assistance. Gate into the property is kept locked so needed to knock on the gate to get someone to open up and tell us where we could park. After check in I went to the car to get a few items for the overnight stay as I didn't want to lug my suitcase up three flights of stairs, forgot to bring the gate key and was told "not to do it again" as they didn't want to go and open the gate if it closed behind me and they were only on the premises until 3 pm.Terrific service. There is a bar next door that played incredibly loud music until late at night. We were suppose to stay two nights and only stayed one.
