2021 Travelers' Choice Best of the Best
Siolim House is a 350 year old palacio from the times Goa was a portuguese territory. It has all the hallmarks of a period manor and has been restored with all the care it deserves. Now only 9 airconditioned suites in a lovely village very well located for the beaches and sites, homecooked local cuisine, it is very much a home where you will get to experience authentic Goan living.

Neat and Nice place. Good food. Courteous staff. Closer to beaches up north. Wonderful stay. Highly recommended for those who are looking for an unique experience and wants to take it easy, away from the high octane activities in Goa. Rooms are very unique. Swimming pool is child safe. Lindsay is a great host and has an outstanding team.

Spent a few nights in this beautiful and quaint 370 year old property. It is perfect for idyllically lounging about next to the pool, having excellent home cooked Goan, and then using it as a base to explore North Goa's excellent culinary landscape. I stayed in the Macao suite, which was very regal - exceptionally large and airy, with a lounging area where friends can visit. The staff is really friendly and has great suggestions for sightseeing and dinner. The in house cook is very, very underrated. If I were to nitpick, I would complain about the lack of a telephone in the room to ask for water, but the fact that this is my only complaint speaks volumes about Siolim House's old-world charm and hospitality.

Room Tip: Go for the Macao suite blindfolded. It is much larger than any other room available.

The property is in Siolim which means you will have access to the hottest restaurant scene in North Goa. While this means you probably won’t end up spending a lot of time at the hotel, I suggest you do so even if it is to take a dip in the cute pool and chat with Lindsay, their extremely helpful manager who has a ton of suggestions and tips to help guests out. The rest of the staff is also similarly warm and helpful. We stayed in Bahria, one of the rooms on the ground floor. While completely adequate, I would probably book one of the nicer rooms on the first follow the next time I am here. Will visit again!

This is a gem of a colonial style place in the heart of where everyone wants to be. It’s a bit basic (no intercom & no TV in the room), but it more than makes up for it with the most attentive and friendly staff ever! Lindsay, the Manager is a hands-on guy who will go that extra mile to make your stay memorable. A big thank you too, Makam, Shivali, Martin, Marchel, Morjee, Priyanka, Devender, Margaret & Prakash for spoiling us rotten and making it feel just like home!

My absolutely recent favorite property in North Goa. Nestled in a quaint old beautiful 300 year old Portuguese villa in the quieter part of siolim Assagaon north indi. The location is perfect for exploring all north goa beaches and upscale eateries n cafes. The best rooms are macau and macassar the governor suite, the pool is clean maintained, the staff lovely & warm. If living in a quaint old Portuguese villa renovated to suit modern contemporary aesthetics is ur idea of a laid goan holiday, you must book this one! I’m a passionate luxury travel blogger and you can check all my goa recommendations on my Instagram & Pinterest pages: Debopriya_HandcraftedJourneys There are atleast 15-20 odd people (followers), who booked the property seeing my Instagram stories & posts and have come back thanking me for the recommendation Discover lovely hidden gems & properties through my Instagram page, as I do my thorough detailed research and have traveling experience of visiting over 20 countries!
