Family meal in a welcoming friendly restaurant/bar. Good service and lovely surroundings. The food was good. The only thing that is isn't going for The George is the prices, the type of which I'd expect to be paying not for pub food but central London.

Our reception and service during our lunch meal were fine. The sausage and mash (actually supposed to be bubble and squeak - but not as I know it) was average but over-priced at £13.95, even more so with the automatically added 12.5% service charge. The bill was just a total price - no breakdown and so impossible to check.

Excellent spot on the Norfolk coast. Great for dog walking and country pubs. Friendly staff, great bar area and lovely food - especially the fish and chips. Nice room if a little small but very clean and comfortable. Slight noise in the evening from the air conditioning / extractor fans but stops when the kitchen closes. Plenty of car parking...

Great views from the 2nd floor across the marshes towards Blakeney. Sunsets at this time of year spectacular and make for good photo opportunities. Lovely full english breakfast cooked to order. Good menu selection well put together and thought out. Also dog friendly. Parking for me was an issue as its a bit tight and access/exit on a blind bend....

We were greeted by a lovely friendly receptionist called Alice, we had arrived early, but she said give me five minutes and your room will be ready. What a lovely room and view across the fields. We decided to have a spot of lunch before going for an afternoon walk. Great sandwich with fries. Back from our walk we stopped...

We have stayed at this hotel on a couple of occassions, usually just for a night or two. It is cheerful, friendly and an all-round nice place to stay. The location is tremendous and the views across inlet are peaceful. And it so restful. The food avaiable in the evening is good and decently presented; it will not win any...

came to the Geroge for a wake. The place was packed but the staff were unflustered and coped well with what was a completely full pub in all 3 rooms. Food served was good and the drinks were good too but it was the location, style and staff that I will remember. Definitely going to go back to Cley and...

We went here to celebrate the in-laws wedding anniversary as this was where they had their wedding reception. The food was good quality and locally sourced. The decor was really nice in there. There is seating outside for when the weather is warmer. The only criticism I would have is that there was not a large choice on the menu...

I'm biased as I have relatives who live there, but Cley is a wonderful, isolated village right by the COLD North Sea. One of two village pubs, The George is an interesting and comfortable pub/hotel. The food is excellent and the rooms are decent and well kept. My only negative - it's overpriced, for what it is.
