Recently spent a few nights at El Rancho. I arrived way before check in but the helpful manager/care taker checked me in early. Room was a decent size and nicely furnished. Agreeable balcony/veranda overlooking the pool, complete with basic kitchen and fridge. It's located fairly close to one beach with another within walking distance. Though everyone rents a car if they come up here. Except me, apparently. It was easily reachable by bus from Willemstad. 10 min walk from the stop. My only issues with the place perhaps relate to me not having a car. I considered giving 3/5 but decided on 4 as I know that the vast majority will have their own transport. The issues are these: There are no shops up here at Westpunt AT ALL. The only option the buy anything is from a Chinese 'restaurant'/dive bar (snickers, potato chips etc). The hotel has nothing to sell you outside of the restaurant's limited opening times. I asked to buy water and was told to drink from the tap. There is no breakfast served. And nowhere to buy breakfast anywhere around (you'll need to drive to a supermarket a way away and stock up). Restaurant staff were not particularly friendly, helpful or service minded. I was going to dive with the onsite dive shop (a separate entity for which I have only praise). I asked to order an extra meal at dinner time so I could have something to eat the following morning. I was told that I was not allowed to order takeaway food... mind blown. One important thing to mention is how dangerous the shower potentially is. If you turn the tap all the way to hot and turn on the water (IT WILL SERIOUSLY BURN YOU!). So take care. In a nutshell: This is a nice spot but the lack of access to food and water is annoying. I asked for a big bottle of water in the restaurant and they just brought me a half liter. These issues that I experienced will obviously be lessened by having your own vehicle.

We were very happy with the location. It was soothingly quiet with lot of nice beaches around and places to visit or breathtaking dive sites. The personnel of the hotel was very friendly and reachable at any time. They go beyond offering standard hotel services and make you feel at home. Mrs. Bianca at the reception was very accommodating and made our booking and any changes to it easy for us. The hotelkeeper Mr. Balie went all out to supply us with everything we needed. He was always available and ready to assist in any way he could to make our stay a pleasant one. He was honest, friendly and accommodaing. This resort is highly recommended for anyone who wants to have a quiet holiday away from typical crowded hotels or beaches. Hopefully our second visit to this resort will be successful soon.

We were at this property for about 11 days and our waiter in the restaurant was Balie. Balie made us feel at home and gave us 5 star service. The chef was amazing. Jenny was a great host. We would definitely come back for the service and the great food and Balie's welcoming attitude and commitment to service.

Enjoyed our 2 night stay in room with a private outdoor kitchen/living room with a hammock. So serene! The pool with water slide was a nice addition and the onsite restaurant accommodated us with to-go coffee each morning to take up to our room. Short walking distance to 2 other restaurants, cliff jumping at Playa Forti, and snorkeling with sea turtles at Playa Grandi. The bed was a bit hard, but we would stay again in a heartbeat because of the other amenities. Car rental available on site. Very friendly staff.

I was on Curacao seeking for relaxation, which I found at Rancho El Sobrino. Rancho El Sobrino is located in Westpunt which is faaar in the green part of the island, very quiet and no so much going on. The next beach is a short walk away and while still being upstairs you should take a moment and enjoy the beautiful view!! It was awesome. The beds were comfortable and the rooms spacious enough for all of my stuff. The staff was awesome, very friendly and always attentive.

The restaurant is open later than most (many close by 5 or 6, or are closed on weekdays). Small bar inside and open air cozy restaurant. I ordered Mahi Mahi and it was a mistake, way overcooked. My son got pinchos which is a huge akewer of meat--that seems the way to go at this restaurant. I dont think they have it everynight though so you may want to call to check. Expect slow service.

Its a nice little hotel , there is what you need for a comfortable stay. Great out door tea kitchen , big refrigerator but strange no oven or microwave , som rooms have a tv If you need that. Only housekeeping every 6 day , but can get ekstra if you pay for it , there is a great little pool and restaurant with a bar , the food here is godt , there is several great beaches nearby , but you wil need a car , the closest supermarket is in barber 20 min away

My friend and I stayed at Rancho El Sobrino for two nights while we explored this side of the island. We stayed in room 4 which was clean. Our only reservation is that it only had one bed, and we reserved a room with two beds, but it was a giant king sized bed so it wasn't too awkward. The staff was very friendly. The beaches nearby are BEAUTIFUL. The only thing about that side of the island is that everything closed really early so there is literally nothing to do after 9 or 10 at night. It is great if you are looking for a quiet little getaway. We did a lot of snorkeling and we saw eels and sea turtles in the beaches just down the street. It is definitely worth the stay.

We had only one night stay and still highly recommend Rancho El Sobrino as Curacao was a pass through to Bonaire for this trip. It is definitely a place we would return to if returning to Curacao. The north end of the island is lovely with a quiet, laid back vibe. With our limited time on the island we planned (and did) snorkel Kleine Knip. We arrived late that night and pre-arranged a key pick up from a box but a staff member actually greeted us and took us right to the key box and then our room. The room was spacious and clean. My partner enjoyed the private outdoor kitchen area and I the hammock. There is a restaurant onsite with good food and nice staff.
