FIRST, i'VE WRITTEN OVER FIFTY REVIEWS ON TRIPADVISOR. USUALLY VERY POSITIVE ONES. THIS IS THE MOST DAMNING EVER. Note the following is my opinion only and is based upon our experience here. Visit was Feb of 2020. Food is recycled, what is served Sunday will be recycled until gone, EVEN IF ITS 4 DAYS LATER. Buffet consists of one type each, fish, poultry, beef, and when it's gone...IT'S GONE. Vegetable selection is usually two or three MAX. Breakfast buffet is a joke. Grounds are disgracefully neglected as they were beautiful at one time based upon the exposed hoses that are all over the place. So-called "open bar" is limited to about 6 types of drink INCLUDING BEERS. On two of seven nights THEY RAN OUT OF LIQUOR. Manager said place was purchased by Dutch investors about 5 years ago AND I DOUBT THEY'VE SPENT A DIME ON MAINTENANCE. Staff tries but is overwhelmed. View is nice. A/C WAS inoperable In several units while we were there. Garden cottages are a mouldy on outside and look pathetic. Pool has tiles missing around decking creating a tripping hazard. Thatched huts ceilings were rotted and you could see the sky through holes big enough to walk through. We had an upstairs ocean front room and the view was great, but, in my opinion, THAT IS THE ONLY THING GOOD ABOUT THIS PLACE!…
Kura Hulanda is for sale as the owner died a few years ago. Therefore they now have a weekendbungalow concept. With bring your own food and drinks etc. There is a small fridge on the room and guest are allowed to use the big fridge at reception. The restaurant is closed for both breakfast and dinner, however there are plenty of nice restaurants closeby. We stayed there for one week. The place offers really good value for money. As long as you keep in mind that maintenance is down to a minumum except for pool, rooms and central wifi-spot, they are maintained very well. There is no wifi on the rooms, but there is near the pool. (Rooms have 2x airco (bedroom and living room) The pool is nice and clean, staff is helpful and friendly, but is is not up to par resort-wise anymore, however, if you are willing to accept the abovementioned facts you can have a really nice and quiet time there, with really good value for money. I would recommend!…
I was there to see the Tomacito Cave. I found the overall character of the place Lodge and Beach Club to be really charming, if run down... a lot. It must have been amazing back in the day. If anybody is interested the tennis court is totally unusable. The vegetation growing out the the cracks is extensive. I can play on some terrible conditions, but this court is not playable. It would probably take several thousand dollars to get it back in shape. I'd be tempted to stay there if if looked like there was any maintenance going on, but it felt like a ghost town.
This Resort is a Lodge not a Hotel this is why we can see ratings from bad to good. Some travelers don’t know the difference between above categories. The spot by itself it’s a gem with unspoiled beach, lustrous gardens, superb view over the sea, natural reefs and very very quiet place. Yes, there are a lot of things to be improved, upgrade and fix. Presently the Resort is owned by Curacao Government and from this point of view I don’t understand why investments are not done in this spot, one of the most beautiful spots on the island. The people working here are very nice helpful and polite. Thank you Mrs. Nirmala Accommodation manager and Mr. Firman. Since the whole resort needs to be upgraded I will not perform here an audit but I will focus rather on 2-3 main points: Food is cooked based on local krioyo recepies only and not everybody have a stomach ready for that. The tendency nowadays is to eat more fresh fruits and vegetables rather than meat. Missing ice creams and various deserts! The toilets in common spaces are a disaster (restaurant and reception) urgent renovation and fixing the equipment’s needed. There is a gym full with equipment’s that nobody is using it. Who needs a gym in this location? This space should rather be converted in a common play room with a pool table and a ping pong table, darts etc. Small investment, but with more impact in a place that do not offer other activities in the evening. The beach needs maintenance! That’s why people are coming here! More trash bins, replace the chaise longs repair the pathways etc . the bar on the beach urgent maintenance and more involvement in selling refreshments and snacks, ice creams, fruits! Based on the future investments in Kura Hulanda, we are ready to return!…

our visit was actually - vacation in the Caribbean. Unfortunately, we chose Kura Hulanda Lodge. I would like to emphasize that the reception and the room service - did their role very well. The place of origin is actually phenomenal - great beach, .., but that's about it. The food is just awful – the offered food can not be named restaurant buffet; a small detail – in the morning they did not offered even butter – and the restaurant manager said – yes you are right – and close the topic (which was the least of the problems). The service staff in the restaurant is only concerned with themselves - but I don't want to get lost in the details. The room and other equipment are badly in need of renovation – actually, for this case the shape of the furniture and equipment would be not a problem – if the price would mirror it! Attention in the pool there are broken tiles where you can cut yourself. I am sorry, such a perfect location, but unfortunately not what is sold in the photo and far from what is meant by normal catering. This hotel simply cannot be recommended. We are not only disappointed; we were actually cheated - since the attempt is still there to sell something (photos from back then) that no longer exists. It is no coincidence that more and more visitors submit a very negative review.…
Look at the views.... Look at the location.... See fabulous ocean views... Please fix the place up ... Go for the stars....... Please please fix it up or Sell it.... MARRIOTT Please LOOK AT THIS LOCATION PLEASE........
Location GREAT.. But Resort needs A LOT OF REPAIRS I don't understand why owners are letting entire property die.... PLEASE FIX UP AND THEN YOU CAN RAISE THE PRICE... Entire Rooms need fixing, grounds need repairs and updates, beach needs to be cleaned daily, buildings need painting and repairs, lights need fixing, food needs real restaurant and more food selections, bar needs to be opened all day with bartenders who what to work, maid service needs maids that clean. The property needs entire face lift. GREAT VIEW BUT HORRIBLE RESORT AND STAFF...
Wonderful property filled with comfortable pools and waterfront bars. Everything runs on island time, so plan according - no such thing as grabbing food on the run. Difficult to visit local areas and restaurants but can arranged - best to ask around.
When you stay at the Kura Hulanda Lodge your eyes are greeted with beautiful staff accommodating all your needs and suggesting more to make it a special adventure. Stunning turquoise waters, white sandy beaches, and a well kept landscape of flowering flora and fauna. We were delighted with the new chef and the delicious variety of local foods prepared. Our most wonderful memory was greeting the servers and learning all the info they shared about their life on the NW coast. 3 times during our stay we were entertained with local jazz performers. Pretty impressed with the 3 language juggle that made it so easy for us. Snorkelling and scuba right outside your front door was a treat all day long at the Lodge . Playa Grande was another great scuba and snorkelling, to avoid the crowds come between 8-10 and 11-6. Tracie and Rob …
