I walking into Oyster Bay Resort on Sunday, and because of an emergency I had to fly back out the next day and couldn’t say my time I intended, so I told the receptionist Nella, what’s the refund policy. After attending to me she had me speak to someone from reservation department, OMG it was such a HORRIBLE experience, a lady by the name of Marianne told me to leave the resort now if I can’t stayed the time that I booked to stay, she told me there’s a cancellation fee as well, at this point I started to cry at the front desk, both Nella and Brenda told me go up to the room and settle down, and come back in the morning. I check out in the morning and spoke to the manager Cindy who was very understanding. Because of Marianne attitude I would never return. Her hospitality is horrible to that establishment, such a bad experience for my first day in the country. Nelly, Brenda and Cindy thanks for making my situation a little better!

We had an amazing stay here!! We absolutely loved it and can’t wait to come back! Ricardo, the manager, and his staff were excellent and made sure every guest was very well taken care of! Charming resort with gorgeous views and they make you feel at home the second you arrive. If you’re looking for a little piece of heaven in Sint Maarten this is the place to stay!

We booked this trip along with 2 other couples. The property is probably just above average, doesn't have an extremely old dated feel nor does it feel new. The resort is maybe 30 minutes from SXM and not a bad drive at all by taxi. The property was nice and equipped with a small bodega style store, spa, laundry facility, gym, nice size pool and hot tub with outside seating. There are 2 restaurants the Big Fish and the Infinity, if there are more we didn't see them. There is a nice foyer area between the lobby and the bar near the pool with seating and umbrella covers for shade. We didn't eat at the Big Fish, but we did have breakfast at the Infinity, the food was priced reasonably and also taste pretty good. This property is a time share but unlike any other timeshare property we've been to, there was no aggressive tactics or hounding you to listen to a presentation or promising you a 90 minute pitch that last 3hrs like you get from the regular time share vultures. To that point, it’s also not an all-inclusive resort so everything cost, but reasonable. The main bar area was just inside from the pool and offered a decent menu of typical bar foods (wings, fries, burgers, shrimp, etc), we tried several items from the menu over our 5 day stay and was pleased with everything we ordered, the drinks were good as well. The bar does stop serving food before it does drinks so you’ll want to plan your eating accordingly if you don’t eat on a structured schedule. The bar does offer a happy hour where drinks are 2 for 1 which was pretty cool, I think this was daily. The staff at the resort were extremely friendly and pleasant, they seem to accommodate almost any request we had, even ordering us Pizza from an outside eatery. The property doesn't offer a beach experience, but you have a nice view from most angles. We had a studio room with a balcony, the room was a bit small but it was as they stated. It had a full kitchen with microwave, a table with two chairs and the patio was equipped with a small table and two chairs. The rooms have exceptional AC units as well as a ceiling fan, the units will easily cool the room beyond the needs of most. The bathroom was pretty small and not design for two people to function at the same time with ease, the shower was small as well and not large enough for two but totally functional. The water got nice and hot, although the fixtures could use some attention. The rooms were very solid and we never heard any noise from the people beside us, not even their TV or the doors open and close. The room was occupied because I heard them on the balcony, but very very sound rooms. There is a marina on site where you can charter boats out if you like. As of July the property is pretty covid casual, but there are thermometer stations at the front desk and the entry of Infinity along with hand sanitizer in both. There is security moving around the property, as well as a gate attendant that controls vehicle entry and exits. We were told the pool is open 24hrs a day, we did get in well after 10 and security didn’t ask us to exit. The gym is small but adequate for a decent workout to get you through vacation, they did have several treadmills and ellipticals along with dumbbells (50 or 55lb being the heaviest). The day we were checking out I took one set of bags down to the lobby for my wife and I didn't close the room door completely, when I got back one of the ladies from housekeeping had already seen the door open and closed it for me, but it was obvious she wasn't happy that I left it open based on her tone. That was actually a plus because it told me they take your security and safety very seriously, to that point there was never a moment that we didn't feel safe on the property or even in St. Martin. Although we would likely look for an all-inclusive resort on our next visit this is still a really nice property especially if you are looking for a laid back get away with options.

Laid back 50+ resort. Atlantic side so you really must leave each day to enjoy beaches and ocean. No swimming at all near resort. It’s mostly cliffs and sargassum. Not much entertainment, the one and only bar closes at 10-11p and the bartenders make it clear they’re not happy to work late. I think I saw a smile once the entire week from both bartenders. They had karaoke twice, the second time it was from 7-7:45p. They offered bus rides here and there, which was cool. Didn’t love spending each day on a 30 ish minutes bus ride plus the waiting to load/unload and register. Pool is pretty but no service. If you want food and drinks you better plan on getting up and waiting at bar. Bartenders are in no hurry, ever. Food was mostly meh. The calamari $14 was really well made and the chicken wings $14 were spot on. Italian night was like a TV dinner for $26, plus 15%. Front desk staff isn’t really friendly or welcoming. They gave check in documents with someone else’s information and didn’t much care. Bodega staff not friendly or helpful. Timeshares are big here but staff are not pushy about it at all. Rooms were always clean with lots of towels. 5 stars to housekeeping. They even bagged up our dirty laundry. Fully equipped kitchen with washer/dryer. The fees…wasn’t in love with a $50 timeshare tax then a $7/day utility charge and a 15% service charge on any purchase. Happy hour was BOGO on some drinks which was the highlight of the day. FELIX…the best for last, this man is incredible. He is the heart of the resort. Raul was cool too but Felix and his infectious smile made us feel like family.

We just finished a week long stay at OBBR and it was fantastic. Their suites are nicely appointed for a family of 6, and the views are AMAZING! You can't beat their infinity pool's views or happy hour specials. Their in house Infinity Restaurant's cuisine is top notch and the nearby Big Fish is a MUST VISIT for exquisite island cuisine. The only warning is that there is a current "Sargaso Invasion" so the local Dawn Beach is closed until further notice. But there are PLENTY of other amazing beaches to be had on this "Friendly Island" The highlights being Little Bay and Orient Bay and the must visit at mid day Maho! Another tip is that OBBR is well away from the rest of SXM so renting a car is almost a requirement to fully see and experience all that SXM has to offer. We didn't want to leave SXM and can't wait to go back!
