Oyster Bay Beach Resort is described by many as a tranquil retreat, offering comfortable rooms with stunning views and a range of amenities, including a relaxing pool area. However, some guests question the value, citing high rental deposits and overpriced services.
While the resort's cleanliness and unique atmosphere are often praised, opinions on service are divided. Its prime location offers beach access but is somewhat distant from popular attractions.

As time share owners we traded to come to OBBR and were not disappointed. We arranged shuttle service to and from the airport through the resort. Also used Shop N Drop for grocery delivery so when we arrived food was put away and the wine and beer were ice cold. The weather was windy (more then usual) and had rain showers at some point almost daily. No complaints on the weather. The wind was welcoming as it kept the heat at bay. The rain showers ere cooling. Upon arrival to OBBR we were welcomed by Felix with a “Welcome Home” and a glass of champagne. Check in was a breeze and away we were to our room. A 1 bedroom, ground floor, ocean front rm. 1202. The rooms view is spectacular. Looking out to the ocean, the pool and bar area. The room is clean but needs a deep clean (Again no complaints) with refreshing services daily. Nightly entertainment and daily activities there is always something to do. Happy hour is filled with many repeat time share owners who make you feel welcomed and are eager to help out in anyway to make your stay memorable. We met many wonder couples during our stay with one couple in particular Mary Ann and Walter who took an entire day of their time to show us around the island. Sunset beach bar (a must see) at Moho Beach to watch the planes taking off and landing, Mullet Bay, Orient Beach to name a few. We made reservations at Nectar Wellness Spa for a couples massage which were amazing. Be sure to check out the little convenient store they have tasty pastries and comparable prices. A couple of days in, our air conditioning unit broke down, but the location of our room and the wind made it bare able except at night while sleeping with closed doors. The manager offered to move us, but with our room to central we were reluctant so we agreed upon just using the other room at night to sleep. The room was on the 3rd floor same lay out as our original and ocean view. But honestly the view is better in our original room. They did deduct 3 days of air conditioning fees $30 but should have done more for the inconveniences of repair men coming and going all day for 2 days. (Once again ,not complaining). Overall this is one of the best and most relaxing vacations we have had and wished we had planned to stay for another week. I would highly recommend staying here and we will definitely return and hopefully get the same room.

When I arrived to the hotel with my two year old son and my mother I was informed that my reservation was canceled by Expedia . I was shocked as I booked this vacation 4 months ahead and of course I paid for it to Expedia and definitely did not cancel last day . They invited me to their office and showed me the screen that said “ Expedia cancellation “ with my name on it . So the supervisor and myself both called Expedia . Expedia representative told me the reservation was never canceled . Then they took time to pay the hotel for my reservation . Finally an hour later I was able to check in on New Year’s Eve . So my two year old missed his nap and was cranky. The hotel blamed it on Expedia and Expedia blamed it on the hotel . I was planning to switch the hotel but it was NYE and the next day was NY Day and I could not switch hotels without paying in full for a new reservation as Expedia supervisors were not available on holidays . I stayed at the hotel and did not regret it . The hotel management offered me a free dinner for one night for my family but I asked for a late checkout and a free champagne instead . They allowed me to check out late (12:30 pm instead of 10 am) and sent me a bottle of Grand Perrier Joer which was generous .
The hotel has a nice infinity pool , the beach is beautiful . There are timeshares and condos as well adjacent to the hotel . There are a lot of elder guests staying at the hotel . We stayed in their loft room, which was very nice , kids friendly . The hotel organized us a tour to Anguilla from their marina which was great and a tour to St Barths from Phillisburg.
The spa is really nice but no steam room . The restaurant inside Infinity is very nice too. The hotel is about 45 minutes from
the airport and quite isolated , closer to the French side . So you definitely want to consider renting a car if you don’t want to eat in the same 2 restaurants every night .
I would definitely consider going back if I come back to the island .

Over all the hotel was nice & very clean. Kudos to house keeping & grounds keepers. The pool area was well kept & very nice. The restaurant in the hotel was surprisingly fabulous & the service there was good.
My only complaints which is why I give it 3 stars is that when I called 3 weeks prior to the trip I was assured that we would have a room with an ocean view. When we got to the resort and didn’t have a room with an ocean view I was told to check back on Monday morning with hotel reservations. After doing so on Sunday and again on Monday we felt we were being constantly put off as we were being told to come back in an hour each time. With that we felt like we were being given the runaround and decided to just enjoy our vacation in the room that we already had as I said it was very clean and we did have a Bayview. The other complaint is that some of the staff seemed annoyed after asking them for extra towels and a few other incidentals that we needed and I do not appreciate that at all. The third thing is & the most important is that on the beach in the surf there was a guest snorkeling and picking up debris which included broken bottles with sharp edges, large pieces of wood with rusty nails, pieces of aluminum and metal with rough edges, a whole gate & various other items from the hurricane that occurred there two years. The reason he was taking care of this himself was because he had young children and didn’t want them to cut them selves. After complaining to the management I assumed that they would take care of this on their own I but did not see anyone from the resort on the beach or in the water addressing this concern. I also found a piece of sharp glass on the beach in the sand which picked up. Beware if you are visiting this resort anytime soon as we recommend a pair of water shoes as a possible solution.

Where to begin??? I just spent five weeks at this resort (two weeks in a one-bedroom, three weeks in a two-bedroom) in November-December 2020. The first sight that knocks your socks off is the view. Simply unparalleled and mesmerizing. Once you recover from the stunning shock of the view, the remaining wonderful attributes of this resort are immediately noticeable: The attentive, sincere staff, the smiles on everyone's faces, the cleanness, the comfort and chicness of the accommodations, the gorgeous pool, the sandy beach, the delicious restaurant (Infinity), the open air bar, and more. Even the iguanas recognize that it's a friendly place to be: You will see them (and monkeys!) nearby. It was the perfect escape from a world turned upside down by COVID and is tucked away so that you can feel safe from the more crowded areas of the island. With our deepest thanks to Ricardo, Anju, Adil, Calixte, Marie Simon, Esme, Roberto, and so many more who made us feel like family while we were there.

We truly enjoyed our 16 day stay in an ocean front studio. Our room had everything we needed - fridge, stove top, internet, tv, AC, balcony, toiletries, beach towels. Daily housekeeping was provided. Daily 2 for 1 happy hour from 4-6pm, Infinity restaurant has indoor and outdoor dining as well as open air indoor dining; Veranda Bistro has covered/uncovered dining with bar. Infinity pool is beautiful and offers chaises with umbrellas, Dawn Beach is well maintained by Grey who will get your chaise and umbrella for you. Resort is well managed and well maintained, and staff is friendly and helpful. We were pleasantly surprised as to how nice this resort is as you never know if a resort is as nice as the pictures look. The resort is in a secluded area so you either need car rental or taxi service.

+1
This was our third visit to oyster bay beach resort since 2012 and it truly feels like our home away from home. We bought a timeshare during our last visit (2016) and could not wait to come back to the island after Hurricane Irma. This time around we had an extra addition to our family, a 6 month baby girl and I have to say that the staff at OBBR (and the rest of the island) was very accommodating to us.
We arrived 2/8 late in the afternoon and check in was a quick, smooth process with champagne and a friendly welcome from Edmund. We were so happy to find out that they had placed us in an ocean view room on the first floor which walked out to the beautiful zero entry infinity pool. The view is just priceless.
What we love about OBBR is the location and the friendly staff - it’s pretty secluded in oyster bay with amazing views of the Atlantic, st barts, the marina, and dawn beach. But it’s not far from anything at all... there are restaurants nearby or it’s just a 20 minute drive to orient, grand case and Simpson bay. The staff has remained the same over the years and that is really a testament to how special this place is.
I could go on and on but at the end of the day I wouldn’t chose to stay anywhere else on this island! Rent a car, explore the island and then come home to OBBR at the end of the day :)

If you’re looking to be a bit off the beaten path and have a nice relaxed time, then OBBR is for you. It’s not in a centralized location, but not everyone wants that.
The staff was amazing, especially all the bartenders and servers. They can get a little over run at the awesome daily 2 for 1 happy hour, but it’s understandable since they’re slinging two frozen drinks for $8! Shout out to Edith, Alex, and Jamie! Food was pretty good as well and the menu was fairly priced. There’s a couple of other restaurants in walking distance and you can get to other parts of the island for $25-$35 cab ride.
Pool and the view overlooking the sea was amazing and most of the other guests had been going for years and were super friendly. Lucy at the pool was also very accommodating when setting up a chair and making sure people weren’t just reserving chairs and not using them. Beach was beautiful as well.
The room was nice and well kept. House cleaning was reliable and always willing to bring us towels or cater to other needs.
Can’t wait to go back and see all the smiling faces we got to know. Truly my new favorite island and easy to understand why other guests had been going there for 10-15 years!
Cheers,
Dan and Carly

We arrived as scheduled into SXM and picked up a rental car and stopped at Cost-U-Less for a few groceries before finding our way over to Oyster Bay Beach Resort. Check in was simple and easy and one of the attendants helped us to our room. We had a studio room with a small kitchenette with a wonderful view of the ocean. There is nothing like the sound of the waves and a terrific ocean breeze. Temperatures were a consistent 85/77 degrees all week.
We found the accommodations to be perfect for a couple staying fo the week. When vacationing, we like to explore the surrounding areas, meet the people, participate in activities and get the flair for the culture. Therefore, we didn't use too many of the resort amenities except when coming back from dinner for the evening and taking a swim in the infinity pool or enjoying the hot tub.
We found the room very clean upon arrival and the housekeeping staff was very polite and attentive. The bed, linens, towels and pillows were very clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with modern dish ware and cooking utensils.
A few previous reviewers mentioned something about a septic smell. Honestly, we didn't smell a thing at the resort, and I wouldn't even know if they had a septic system and/or where it was.
Dawn Beach is just adjacent to the resort and we spent a few days relaxing there for the afternoon. The attendants were very helpful setting up loungers and umbrellas. The seaweed did come in a few days, but each morning it was scraped away. The resort cannot control weather, or ocean conditions or wind, so it is not appropriate to be critical for something out of their control. In fact we went to Orient Bay Beach one day, and they had as much or more seaweed on the shore as others. It comes and goes.
The staff were very accommodating and friendly and ready to help if you had any questions or requests. They also assisted us with our required COVID-19 tests upon departing.
Overall, we really enjoyed the resort, the facilities and the people we met during our visit and hope to visit again soon.

We stayed 2/8 to 2/15/2020. The resort was not packed. The staff were friendly and pleasant with every interaction. The check-in process was flawless and Edmond was a great guy. The resort itself has an older feel but very functional. Attention to detail is not a strong suit but most things around the resort are pretty good. The rooms and common areas could use updating and a really good cleaning. Our room appeared clean but really wasn't, again mainly attention to detail but the floors needed serious attention. I don't expect socks to turn black from walking inside my room but they did.
The restaurant had a buffet on Saturday which was excellent food although a bit pricey. The pool was nice and the hot tub usually had 2 to 10 people in it. The amenities of the resort were good but again, needed attention to detail. There seemed to be a general lack of communication between the different departments.
Overall a very functional place to stay but next time I would choose somewhere more central.

Yes, at least at resorts, restaurants, and public recreation areas.
Local bus does not come to this resort area. You can take a taxi or rent a car right at the resort for $40 a day.
This location is much quieter than both of those locations. There is an excellent restaurant at the entrance that is not associated with the hotel but you can walk there and the food is amazing.
Hello! While staying there, I was always given the option to pay via cash, card or charge to room. Therefore, I can't see why you wouldn't be able to visit. There is front gate security who stopped my son as he went back to get something as they did not recognize him. I hope this is helpful and would recommend for a stay. :)
The beach is just off the patio of the Veranda bar of the resort. It did have seaweed in abundance but also had convenient shower to clean off sand before returning to the resort.
