When I asked the resort guy on the phone, "what's the best way to get from the airport to the resort?" I was told "Rental!!!" That was great. Fox rental set me up with a 60% OK Kia. The only problem was signage. Roads are not clearly marked and we went past 6 Mile Beach 3 or 4 times before we asked at a gas station and finally got out of the loop and headed the right way. It was necessary to have a car to get to the local restos and tourist events. The resort is located at the far end of the island which is great but even if you tried to take local trans, it would definitely be a hassle. Food at the resort is exorbitant, $53.00 for fish and chips which was NOT worth the price. Even the local restos and stalls are expensive. I overheard someone checking out and their bill was $2K. No hard to imagine if you were a couple or a family eating all you meals, with drinks, at the resort. Be advised.

The resort is right ON the ocean. That said, you need water shoes because there are a LOT of rocks as you walk in the water. We had a 2 level, ocean-front condo, and it was very nice. 2 issues - the 2nd bedroom had TWIN beds and NO television (this place caters to families and children). So one of us was forced to sleep on the sofa for the week. The dishwasher was new and not properly installed. When you opened the door, it came out from the counter. They should make the infinity pool ADULTS only. Nothing like screaming children to harsh on your joy. Oh - you pay for your electricity upon checkout. Ours was $112 US, and we were FRUGAL with the usage.

Our room was located in the bld that was overrun with cats. They would feed the cats right on the shuffle board court. I didn’t find that very attractive. We then had a dead chicken outside our room for two days. I called the office twice to have it removed, my spouse actually saw a worker step over it the first day. What I really didn’t like about the place is that on the weekends they open up the resort to locals. The pool was filled with children jumping, diving into a no dive pool, jumping off the bar. They had security by the pool but they didn’t seem interested in controlling the situation. Just not my type of place and I will not go back.

It was not crowded because we traveled during off season. Our patio view was the beach, hammocks, and palm trees everywhere. The food available for lunch was good, but the evening meals at David's Restaurant were better prepared. We decided to cook one meal a day in our kitchen because of the high price of food in US dollars. The $$ of the drinks at the Infinity pool bar are worth it because of Naz, our favorite bartender. He made happy hour a serious dance party! Housekeeping and property maintenance is fantastic! No pressure for a time share presentation. Welcome Party on Monday is excellent! You must get a rental car at the airport because cab ride is $125 to other side of the island each way. Be prepared to drive on the opposite side of the car and road through many roundabouts. Overall, a very beautiful resort and gorgeous island!

Morritt's Tortuga Club Resort was absolutely beautiful and being located directly on the crystal clear waters gave us a stunning view each day! Check-in and check-out was very quick and seamless. Our one bedroom unit was oceanfront and recently renovated with lovely beach decor and stainless steel appliances. Three pools, one adult only which was nice and the infinity pool had a swim-up bar! A rental car is necessary if you want to explore the island, highly recommend it. Lots of sights and excursions to keep you busy as well as some of the freshest seafood to enjoy! Also, as other reviews mentioned, you are billed a utility charge so we just made sure we kept the air conditioner set at 75 (which was cool enough) and kept the blinds closed when not in the unit and our charge for 7 nights was $86. Highly recommend a stay at Morritt's, it was a wonderful experience!

Away from the maddening crowds is this lovely resort with 3 pools including a 2' deep pool for little ones, oceanfront dining, and a very nice location to snorkel. Saw 5 lobster, flounder, barracuda, and lots of other fish within an hour. The small, well stocked grocery store is just a block away. The 2 bedroom room was very well stocked with a good variety of pots/pans and utensils. Bring your own salt and pepper! Staff very friendly and wanted to please. Would love to return here and relax again someday. Also, the parrot sanctuary, Queens Botanical Garden, Iguana Sanctuary, Tukkas Restaurant are all nearby. Highly recommend if you don't want the 7 mile beach experience.

Facility is clean. Units well maintained. Inconsistent use of masks with staff in doors. There are a few restaurants on site although two of the three share the same menu. The food is pretty good. The beach and water is filled with seaweed. There is limited swimming in there, but there are three pools. There is a shuttle that will take you on tour to the westside where the clear water beach is if you ask. Shuttle will take you to the airport for 75 dollars each way. You need a car to experience the island or you are paying for a shuttle or limited to the resort. Nice spa on site however they didn't give me a hot stone even though I asked. Services on the website is not the same as what they offer at the spa. Oh you have to pay for electricity. I tried to use little as possible by using only what was needed for me. I paid 70 dollars for 6 days. Overall it's a good resort for relaxing and enjoying the sun. Also family-friendly. But if you want to experience the island life rent a car or stay at a different resort.

What a dump. Think we got the worst room on the island. Just moved the 1980 furniture to try and make it livable. What a mistake, think I found a nacho chip from 1985. This is so laughable, it’s not even a joke. The carpet…… the room …. What a horror show. Avoid at all costs. Will try and move rooms tomorrow as this place is brutal.
