We enjoyed our stay at the Reef. Beach was beautiful, beach chairs were very comfortable. Nice beach to walk on, and we were even able to snorkel right there. Rooms were very nice. I would definitely come back.
This is a great place to stay in the East End of Grand Cayman. The accommodation overlooks a beautiful beach and it perfect for a relaxing stay. All members of staff went out of their way to be friendly and welcoming. We loved the ‘happy hour’ sipping cocktails overlooking the sea.
We loved our time here. So relaxing didn't do much. The people were lovely. Only a couple of issues with spotty internet and end unit not such a great view. Would definitely go back but get a bigger unit. Husband got sick (cold). Would have been nice to have some separation and a full kitchen. We ate breakfast and lunch on the lanai. But was limited by size of small "kitchen" area.
Well maintained property. Private and quiet venue. Would go back in a second.. Great views, good food on site and nearby. Shopping and groceries conveniently just across the road, Pools and beach were clean and exquisitely maintained and there was never an issue with finding a chair. Staf was cordial and helpful
This resort is on the quiet side of the island, meaning far from popular attractions and fairly quiet. Pros- nice beach front location beach bar convenience grocery store and bottle store across the road. all room face the ocean pool and gym on site. restauarant on site and nearby Cons- added undisclosed costs when you arrive poor qulaity food at the on site less than helpful staff sea is full of weeds , so swimming is reasonable at best. probbably would not stay here again
This resort is in the East End district. Not the popular or crowded 7 mile beach area. So depends what you are looking for. Action and night life or peace and quiet. If you stay at this resort and you want to do some exploring, you're going to want a rental car. It's a 45 min drive from the airport to the hotel.
The Wyndham does it right. Food, cleanliness, location, staff... it was all just exceptional. I can't think of anything they forgot. It is the place to go to for rest and relaxation! I wish we had a rental car and that would have been the topper to make it easy to get around the island.
Our stay at Wyndham Reef Resort was enjoyable. I would suggest to anyone traveling there to rent a car. The hotel has events but you want to do more. Beware of the information from the Conceiges because they want you to do things but don't advise you that you maybe doing the same thing twice. For example we did the Georgetown Shopping tour one day for 3 hrs and the Island tour the next day and where did we go to again Georgetown for another 2 hrs. The desk staff always were friendly. The bar staff some were friendly and some were not. Since we were not owners there you could see the difference in treatment. The lady who was at the coffee stand was so friendly and polite each day. The lady who did Bingo and other activities was the rudest person we met there. She catered to certain people. Bingo should be fun to play she made me not want to ever play again. Her accent was so that you couldn't understand the numbers and she was rude to certain people if you made a mistake in numbers because of her speech. Our room was a studio and it was on the end with a view of trees and the next Resort along with the smelly trash dumpsters where the chickens hung out all the time. Not the best view of the ocean so beware of the studio rooms and the saying all rooms face the ocean. It did face it partially but not fully like the other rooms. The subway has limited items. Grocery store was OK. We didn't eat at the Italian restaurant but did look at menu not much variety except if you want pasta all the time. The Tides restaurant we ate breakfast there once and was not impressed at all. We used the bar menu for dinner a couple of times it was OK. All in all it was a good first visit and would visit again to see if the treatment would be the same or different. One thing for sure do not take a taxi from the airport because they charge outrageous prices and they don't tell you the fee or that they only accept US dollars until you reach your destination and do they do not take credit cards.…
My wife and I would sit on our balcony watching the waves, water and reef and keep saying "wow". After a week, we were still saying "wow". Make sure you visit the dock of the Morritts next door to see the Tarpon and multitude of fish under their dock. Wyndham is still blaming Covid for their once a week housekeeping i.e. not daily, but they quickly supply towels or other needed items rapidly.
We came for a quick couple’s getaway with friends and have not been disappointed. The staff makes it even better!! Our concierge Betty is a gem. She helped us navigate activities and was always a friendly face. A native to Cayman and more important a resource to all at resort.
