Very quiet place about 22 miles away and will cost you $95 each way by taxi. Would recommend you rent a car for $38 per day, or less, we filled it up for $37 at the end of our trip. Crystal caves are $40 per per person, Botanical Gardens $18.75, both places were worth it. Concierge were very helpful. Everything is in Cayman dollars, drinks you think are $9 are really about $13. They drive on the left side of the road and the round abouts can get you lost.We recommend Taco Tuesdays at Tukka restaurant. Also in George Town Ragazzi for Italian, the Czech inn for great schnitzel. The italian kitchen across from the hotel as well as a nice grocery store called Fosters. You can do a PCR test at the hotel for $30 before you leave for home. You must fill out and apply for a travel certificate from the Cayman Islands before you leave for the Cayman Islands which could take up to 5 days. Please contact me if you have any questions.…
The East side of the island is definitely the best. Great Italian restaurant & great little shops across the street. Excellent staff at resort especially Dahlia at coffee shop and Miriam the concierge.
We had a nice stay at this resort. It did start off a little bit on the wrong foot with a long wait for a room. We arrived early, can’t really control when flights get to the island. We were there by 11 and had it been a sunny day vs. pouring out we may not have minded waiting so much. The reception desk not so welcoming, just curt replies about check in time and that an upgrade is absolutely not available. The concierge does bring over drinks and tries to loop you in for a timeshare presentation and to talk to you about the towels (resorts are so obsessed with beach towels and their cards!) and excursions. I really wish resorts wouldn’t hit you up right off the bat after you’re tired from traveling a long way especially now complicated with Covid. We didn’t get into our room until 3 pm. You're so tired after traveling a long way, I literally slept in their lobby after getting lunch. It iseems that they were short staffed and getting the rooms ready. This is a problem at many hotels and while I know check-in times are stated, I really wish they would accommodate travelers that arrive early a bit better The room that we waited for 4 hours for wasn’t really all that clean. I ended up sweeping and wiping out the sink myself. It rained the first couple days which makes a big difference on an island vacation. We never did figure out the TV. I was content with just reading. It is a very convenient location with a restaurant, liquor store and grocery store across the street. The Caribbean is seeing a lot of seaweed and the resort works hard cleaning it every morning but it comes back right away. I love how quiet this resort is but I’m sure it’s not for everyone. We had a car so we explored the island a little bit particularly taking advantage being on the North Shore. We went to see the starfish and took a cruise out to stingray city which is absolutely amazing. If you’d like quiet and relaxing this is definitely the place. I think we would be back although they don’t seem to honor the platinum upgrade. It seemed like there were many empty rooms but we had reserved a studio and weren’t able to get anything larger. You can’t beat the balcony overlooking the water. It’s probably as close to being on the beach that we’ve ever had. Lastly, Covid testing was available on site and while not the fault of the resort, we waited in a long line outside in the heat. Would have been a good opportunity for the resort to be hospitable with cold drinks perhaps and shade.…
Quiet and secluded. Beautiful sunrises with much time spent on our balcony. Market and restaurants walkable. Away from hustle and bustle for a true vacation where you can recharge. No loud music or party crazy atmosphere
The resort is a bit of a drive from the airport and Georgetown but well worth it. All of the units face the beach. There are two pools. We were near the free form pool which had a kids pool in the middle. Our grand kids really enjoyed the kids pool. The beach was clean except for some seaweed some people complain but being from the Boston area, we’re used to seaweed. The restaurant is terrific. Everything we tried was excellent. The beach bar is great. We enjoyed happy hour most days. The units were throughly stocked and very comfortable. We highly recommend.

We are timeshare owners at the Wyndham Reef but have not been there since 2017 due to Covid and a trade. We were pleasantly surprised to find new sliding doors and furniture on the deck. Both very nice. We were disappointed to find that the grills were moved to the very end of the property with no wind break and no tools easily accessible. We were also very disappointed to find that White Sand Watersports had been replaced by ocean Frontiers. White Sand had windsurfers, kayaks, jet skis, a sailboat, pontoon boat with slides, ran snorkel trips, bio-luminescent trips, stingray city excursions, offered kite surf lessons, etc. right from the Reef. We did things with them each time we came down and really looked forward to it. Ocean Frontiers has two kayaks and two paddle boards that are in poor condition and that's it! They do offer other excursions but all require travel to get to them. Not happy with Ocean Frontiers. We also had some issues with our unit in that the dishwasher leaked all over the floor and after a couple attempts to repair it was replaced. However the replacement was poorly done such that the unit was so out of level that the dish rack would not even stay out on the door so you could load dishes. It rolled back into the dishwasher. The refrigerator ice maker line was also leaking putting water on the floor. Being a building contractor I eventually fixed both these things myself. The food offerings at the Reef were very good. Bed was comfortable and service was quick if we needed anything. …
Beautiful room and wonder scenery!!! We checked in on a Wednesday with no waiting at all! We were there for a wedding but we were super excited to enjoy the beautiful scenery and sunshine! I found out every 3 years is the year for the seaweed and 2022 was the year. The resort was very diligent about scooping it up every morning. It was also cool to watch it role in from the sea.
Excellent amenities. Close walking distance to other restaurants. No car needed if you want to unwind on East End for 3 days. Staff were absolutely amazing. The clientele that stay at the hotel are older couples and families. Not a place for singles looking to party. Everything closes pretty early. The pool, hot tub, and beach were well maintained and helped me to unwind. I felt very safe at the resort as a solo traveler. My only complaint was that the jacuzzi bathtub had brown water pouring out so I did not use it. The rest of the room was absolutely amazing.
The staff was amazing. Resort was well kept with great views from every room. Loved that you could fully open the patio doors. Food was great and making plans for excursions was easy. I would definitely recommend for either a relaxed vacation or someone who wants more activities.
