The resort was probably one of my favorites! The food was amazing, the staff was friendly and the service was outstanding. We had Eramy as our butler and he was top notch! Highly recommend , can’t wait to go back!

We had an amazing trip to the margaritaville resort. Catherine was super helpful, she provided service with attention to detail at checkin and throughout our week. Her staff Ensured we had everything we needed for a wonderful week. Her staff was always smiling and welcoming to make us feel at home. They made an effort to get to know our names and made us feel like family. We will be sure to come back for another visit. Eramy was an attentive butler, ensuring our reservations were made each night for dinner and checked in to see if we needed anything throughout the week. Always smiling and friendly. Carlos, Avery and Juan were incredible bartenders, entertaining and friendly service.

After booking 10 months in advance the resort split in to family and adults only. Our 5 rooms were split up. Family section only has king bed. They don’t know their room inventory. Hope you like glass see through showers in main room and bedroom. Poor design layouts if more that 2 people in room. There is no daily activity at family section and they get bent out of shape if 12yr olds go into adult pool area. Bars at both pools are great. Food may be limited do to slow bookings. No one is there. Beach is all ripped up. There seems to be communication issues in some restaurants and can to handle groups more than 4. Best restaurant is Italian and the steak place disappointing meat and missing or mixed up sides. The Asian restaurant servers do not speak English and poor order instructions. Can’t tell the food order size. Some meat sticks are overdone. Resort looks is elegant but you have to walk to opposite side of resort to get food. There needs to be a path short cut through adult section. Lunch may be a challenge at times. Cheese burgers or market wraps. This was a azul resort that was renamed margaritaville. Night life was dead and did have a some entertainment. Recommendation is to look at all your options for your family expenses and what activities are available. We are members/owners and was disappointed ,except for being together with out great family.

Rooms: The room was modern, clean and faced the ocean. Great views. Housekeeping staff were always on point. The only thing that wasn't perfect is their key entry system. We had to get the wristband keys reprogrammed multiple times, while a bit of a hassle, we didn't let it distract from the vacation. Pools: We didn't go near the family pool, we were there with a group of adult friends. The adults only pool was always a good time, lots of activities and the pool entertainment staff was great. Edgar and Gaby aren't very good at playing bags, but they did make it entertaining. Wendy was our bartender the majority of the week and was always on top of keeping the drinks flowing. Beach: it's a big expansive sandy area leading up to the beach, we did stroll down to the beach. It's a nice looking beach, they're in the process of making it nicer. Wasn't an issue with us, as again, we're pool people anyhow. It was a little slow when we were there Nov 26 to Dec 2. About 25 percent capacity. it was nice. No reservations needed for any of the restaurants. The steak house and Frank and Lolas were always open, the Asian was only open a couple nights. All the food was excellent, from the elevated food stations at breakfast to the Tomahawk steak, we never had a bad meal. All in all, it's a great resort with a fun vibe. I would definitely go back.

Pros New resort, beautiful rooms, clean pools, amazing staff for the 5 o’clock somewhere bar (Wendy, Alondra) and entertainment team (Juan Carlos aka Justin Beiber, Diana, Edgar). We left the resort and had VIP gold member tickets to Coco Bongos which was the highlight of the trip. Cons No beach, I didn’t have air conditioning in my room for days, terrible food, restaurants were only open on specific days for specific times, very frustrating and I ate very little for the week I was there, no stocked mini bar (no alcohol, water, pop), joe merchants is a joke, late transportation pick up left us running to the gate at the airport, and terrible room service. The rooms have only Nespresso coffee makers and they didn’t restock the coffee in the room. Very strong coffee and a few of us are early risers so you can’t get a cappuccino or coffee until 7am. I have literally travelled on so many continents all over the world as well ….I have stayed at several resorts in Punta Cana that I have returned to. I will never return to this resort. I would never recommend this resort to anyone. We made the best out of a very expensive $10,000 vacation for the 4 of us to celebrate my nephews birthday.

We went on a relaxing weekend given that I was seven months pregnant and were sure things weren't going to be as calm for much long. We arrived to stay Friday to Sunday. Lobby was very packed but they made an effort to assist me given the pregnancy. Once finally sent to our room (about an 45mins), we were given a room other than the one we had booked. After calling the lobby, and waiting for about 30 more minutes, they explained the one I had booked was in restoration and that they'd upgrade us to a villa. We went for dinner and it wasn't finally until about 9PM when we were finally placed in our upgraded room. There is no food available after 10PM other than room service that took about an hour (or more) to arrive with only 6-8 options to choose from. Next day, we lost power in our upgraded villa at 2AM. The male night manager suggested 'I'd grab my toothbrush and pijamas, sleep in another room and return to the one with no electricity the next morning, since I was checking our the next day anyway'. I told him I was 7 months pregnant and refused that back and forth. The points system for the Mini bar is a bummer, you can barely get anything. It's hard to walk across the hotel without having to go all around and it was really frustrating to not have food available beyond 10PM. The day manager, skinny very kind lady (Monica I think) tried to help and showed care and empathy but it was really frustrating to be in three different rooms for a 2 night stay in a hotel that costs about $1000 the weekend. Maybe, they need some more prepping to be open. Grounds are pretty but they have a lot of work going on and much more to do regarding service. Kudos to the day manager Monika and the short hair concierge who really cared about me and accommodating my pregnant self. Other than that, it may be worth considering another place for the cost, in our experience.

Overall we really loved this resort. I was skeptical at first but so glad we decided to visit Margaritaville in Cap Cana. The food, staff, rooms and pool vibe was very chill and laid back. The entertainment team really made us old folks feel welcome and part of the fun! We were not a huge fan of the points system for the mini-bar, but we are not huge drinkers in the room. We cashed out at the end of the week and bought some great coffee, honey and cocoa as souveniers. The staff and Joe Merchants was fantasic! As others have mentioned, the beach is just now up to par with other beaches in the area. I'm sure in time that will improve, but it's just not there yet. But the reason for my 4 star review is the predatory nature of the sales reps from the club. Be warned, if you are not booked in an upgraded room or villa, the folks that greet you with your frozen margarita-pop are NOT BUTLERS. They are representatives of the club and will constantly hound you to attend a "tour" and ask you to "help me so that I can help you" with various perks. After three days of not taking no for an answer, I got assertive and a bit angry. It didn't ruin our trip but it was a huge turn off and probably would not return to this location.

My husband and I went for our honeymoon last week, The stay was perfect. The staff makes the stay amazing. It is a slower month so it is less active but it was perfect to relax and have fun as well. I was told it does get more exciting with entertainment, but due to the hurricane they were repairing a main bar at the property. We stayed in the villas which was an experience alone, you have a personal butler, private pool and bar. The vibe there is 100% chill. If you want more excitement head over to Five O'Clock Somewhere bar/pool. There is entertainment and music. There is also a family friendly area with entertainment as well. The restaurants were great for an all inclusive. We at at 6 of the options (a few were just not our food taste). Rum runners- great Caribbean lunch food, Frank and Lolas - decent Italian, JB Steakhouse- best shrimp cocktail, Landshark Bar- Best ribs ever! We had an amazing spa experience and overall perfect Honeymoon. We did opt to do a lot of breakfast room service as we are not huge buffet people and that is how breakfast is served. The room was BEYOND expectations, the outdoor shower was perfect as well as the private pool. If you are in ocean swimmer, you do need to walk up a bit on the beach as the beach is a bit rocky and lots of seaweed, but that is the only downfall I can see (we are pool people who like to look at the ocean so this was not a big deal to us) Also Cap Cana is a bit more exclusive then Punta Cana and private, which was nice, Huge thank you's and compliments to Hector & Noella at Landshark (they are both so friendly and made us want to eat there 4 times on our trip). The SOS Bar had 3 great bartenders during our stay. Every, Narmi & Carlos. They are friendly and engaging to the guests. Our butler Joeelvis was also perfect making sure we had everything we needed. I would recommend this resort to anyone, families, couples, etc

We stayed at the resort from 11/12 to 11/18 and had a wonderful vacation. It was our combined 60th birthday vacation. BRX transportation was waiting for us at the airport and the ride to the hotel was only 15 min. Upon arrival, Melissa at the front desk got us checked in and we were offered frozen tequila treats. We also met our personal concierge, Chanel. Our room wasn't quite ready so Chanel gave us a tour of the resort while we waited for our room. As a compensation for the wait, Melissa and Chanel upgraded us to the Honeymoon Swim Up Suite. Thank you Melissa and Chanel!! (we had booked the Swim Up Jr Suite). It was worth the wait. The room was spectacular!! Swim up access to main pool, large patio with double chaise lounger, table and chairs and couch, large bathroom with soaking tub and dual rain showers, super comfortable king bed. WOW. Chanel was the BEST. She made sure we had everything we needed. She gave us a bottle of champagne for our birthday celebration and offered a to get a bottle of wine for my wife for the room. She checked in with us everyday (even on her day off). She really made our stay GREAT. The resort is very clean and new. The main pool was huge and had plenty of chairs and cabanas. The staff were all great. So friendly and helpful. The main pool staff and bartenders at the 5 O'Clock Somewhere pool bar were the best. I wish I was better at remembering names. We played cornhole with the pool guys everyday and as for the drinks, my wife says they made some of the best margaritas she's had. I enjoyed the local Brugal rums they served. A big shout out to Yissel the bartender at Punch Bar and the theater. She was awesome and we had so much fun dancing with her. There was some construction going on to make repairs from hurricane Fiona. The only issue was that they had to close Punch Bar down 2 days into our stay to repair damage to the ceiling from the hurricane. Unfortunate but understandable. Punch Bar is where all the evening entertainment happens. They moved everything into the theater temporarily but it wasn't quite the same vibe. As for the food, it was very good. We ate at the JWB Steakhouse, Frank and Lola's Italian, and the Landshark Brewery each twice. We did not try the Pan Asian or Mediterranean restaurants but heard good reviews. For breakfast and lunch, the buffet was amazing. Everything you could imagine. We had lunch twice at the Cheeseburger in Paradise beach grill. Great burgers and chicken sandwiches. The only negative to the whole resort is the beach. The ocean is full of seaweed and rocks. We learned while we were there that they just received their permit to fix the beach. They were working on it while we were there. In a year or so it should be much better. Overall a great and relaxing vacation. Thanks to the Margaritaville staff!!

My husband and I had the opportunity to stay at this location in early November. The property is beautiful. You feel relaxed as soon as you enter the lobby. All of the staff are so friendly and welcoming. Yudy checked us in quickly and effortlessly. We were staying in the Wave section of the resort (family side) with full access to the resort. I had been a bit concerned before going knowing that Fiona had ripped through Cap Cana. Sadly the beach suffered some erosion, however I was expecting this. The sand right now is packed down, you still have a long beach to walk. Just taper your expectations on the beach at this time. All efforts have been put towards making sure the resort itself is up and running smoothly. Although there was some damage to their main building, and work taking place it was not disruptive in the least. Even while we were there we witnessed new rooms being open. They are working fast! Our Room - was gorgeous. No down south musty smell - bright and large. The balcony is very large with lots of furniture so you can enjoy the views in the morning or eat breakfast in your room. We did order room service one morning - and it was easy and plentiful. It arrived exactly on-time. All of the rooms are relatively close to the pools and the food. I love this feel, of not having a huge resort to have to get a golf cart to move you around. It's all very flat and very accessible with elevators. Food - We got to experience all of the restaurants. It is so hard to chose just one favourite.
