This hotel is Exceptional. The entire staff treated us with genuine kindness the entire stay, and are very attentive to everything you need. Our butler Miguel was phenomenal and was always there when we needed something. The food, the hotel grounds and the atmosphere are Exceptional. Unfortunately Hurricane Fiona came through but the hotel staff worked tirelessly to make sure we were all safe, and served us Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner directly to our room. There was also a full buffet Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner in the Castle. This is easily one of the best hotels we have stayed at, and will come back in a heartbeat.

Everything about our experience was fantastic. Dawar, our butler, assisted us with ensuring we had reservations for dinner and that we had opportunity to do social activities around the resort should we like; Laury the concierge was extremely helpful in orienting us to the property and taking care of any small needs we had (i.e. a fan for nighttime). Additionally, the Entertainment staff were fantastic - Cappuchino kept us laughing and engaged around the pool. At the buffet - the main dining area where we ate breakfast every day and lunch most days, Yaniris, Ginetto, and Maria were most hospitable and always remembered the small details - like that I work with hospitalized children. And those are just the names I remember! Overall, aside from the views, the staff was the highlight for me. 10/10 would recommend, and would definitely return!

My husband and I visited this luxurious and enchanting place and left in love with every cobblestone path every unique structure and the meticulously maintain pools and beach. Every experience from the many restaurants which each offered an excellent yet different culinary adventure you could indulge in, an assortment of bars offering spirits and refreshing frozen concoctions numerous other snack and specialty shops, and the genuine staff members who welcomed us will a smile and made us feel like family. True class all the way. Visiting Sanctuary Cap Cana was a transforming experience. The bar has been raised very high. We would also like to express our deepest gratitude to the staff members. During Hurricane Fiona, they worked tirelessly, many without any rest for upwards of 30 hours. Freshly prepared meals were delivered to the rooms every day with plenty of water, beverages, and snacks. We are very grateful. Thank you!

Only 20 mins drive from airport. The hotel is luxurious and with extremely attentive and friendly staff. All inclusive and you don’t have to wear the dreaded wristband! A choice of many restaurants including the absolutely excellent everyday Buffett ( Breakfast Lunch Dinner) on a terrace overlooking the pool and ocean,; but also French fine dining ( need to book on arrival) Marlin fish restaurant on the beach or the American steak house (also require booking). There is also burger place but we didn’t go. I couldn’t fault the food it was all delicious and mainly from the island. The wine was not great and you have to pay extra for a decent bottle. Cocktails and other drinks are all included. The rooms were highly luxurious with super king beds , a jacuzzi bath on the balcony and separate walk in wardrobe and spacious ensuite with shower. Beautiful view over the ocean and you are lulled to sleep by the sound of the waves if you sleep with the windows open which I tend to do! Entertainment each evening was very good quality and we enjoyed Circe de soleil, Michael Jackson tribute, beach disco with fireworks, traditional SA Latin dancing and karaoke. All by in-house highly talented artists.During the day we lazed on the small beautifully clean beach or by one of three pools. Would have no hesitation in returning.

We saw that hurricane Fiona was going to hit the DR. We tried cancelling our trip but were outside the window. We were told only if our flights were cancelled or changed could we move our trip dates. Seems odd they are okay making guest travel knowing a hurricane is coming. I have emails with my TA to prove this. We arrived Sunday 09/18 and the vibe was a little weird, we figured it was because a hurricane was coming. We were supposed to be in a Villa but for obvious reason that was not safe so they put us in another room. When we got there they did not tell us we would not be in our villa, they actually gave us the room number we would be in 1028 (I have the paper work). Come to find out they were not using the Villas since Saturday. It is completely fine they switched our room for safety but they lied to us right from the beginning. I was very nice to the staff and we tipped everyone UNTIL we started being treated badly. I was not being nice to anyone after having to beg for food, hot water, and communication. We were treated less than human so I started speaking and treating them the same way they were treating us. That of course is unacceptable, how dare I speak back and demand communication and food. They made us pack our things and walk in the pouring rain to the lobby, just to tell us to go back to our room. I have the voicemails. Everything I am saying, I can backup with proof. This resort likes to lie about what really happens. So we walked back to our room in the pouring rain just to sit there and beg for food. Our room flooded, there was glass all over the balcony. My husband had to squeegee all the water out of our room because they refused to come give us towels. After sitting in a damp wet room for HOURS, they finally brought us some towels. We understand there was a hurricane but apparently Sanctuary did not expect it to hit hard because they were not prepared. We spoke to so many people between Margaritaville and Excellence both those resorts gave their guest food the night prior to make it through the hurricane. Sanctuary forgot people need food to survive. My husband is on medicine for his blood that requires he eat something and they did not care until 11PM Monday night when the guy in the lobby said everyone left and gave us a can of chips. The last meal was 1230 Monday afternoon and it was chicken that made both myself and my husband sick to our stomachs. The women next to us was on heart medication and from my understanding she also was begging for food so she could take her medicine. Tuesday morning we checked out and walked to a new resort where we were fed and treated like humans. Even after checking out our butler who we never met messaged us at 1130 Tuesday asking if we were still in our room (remember we had checked out at 730AM). Yet Carlos refused to answer our messages when we asked for coffee because that would at least help with the hunger. UNREAL - so if we did not leave and take care of ourselves we would have still been sitting there Tuesday afternoon with no food, hot water, or cool air. Also our chargers were destroyed when the room flooded but they did not care. Both our phones had died, thank goodness for our Ipad. This resort does not care about their guest and are lying about what happened. They will continue to lie and act like it was all out of their control. They ruined our 10 year wedding anniversary over money. This resort would rather call their guest liars then take accountability. Please do not let the positive reviews fool you. People who were not even there for this experience were defending the resort. This should speak volumes about the false positive reviews people leave.

My husband and I visited the Dominican Republic for the first time in September 2022 and chose Sanctuary Cap Cana due to all the positive reviews and images we found during our research...and they were absolutely right! This place is stunning, clean, and the service is unmatched (we have stayed at many all-inclusive resorts). We booked a first floor room in the Castle, and while it does have a little bit of a walk to the main area of resort, it was not bad at all and allows you to enjoy the landscaping and grounds during your short stroll. The pools were great, there were plenty of options for seating and there were pools that were "quiet pools" without music if you wanted to relax in a tranquil area, then they also offer music and entertainment at the main pool which includes a fun swim-up bar. We loved the variety of food that was offered, including the authentic Dominican night which was very different, but delicious! One particular factor that made our stay so special was our wonderful butler, Felix. He was incredibly friendly, helpful without being asked, and was such a great entertainer as well! He would run around all day hosting various activities like water aerobics or yoga but never missed a beat in ensuring we had a pampered stay. He would check on us regularly and went above and beyond what was expected of him! A true gem. We highly recommend this resort for a romantic, luxurious getaway!

My husband and I recently visited this resort and highly recommend it! The rooms and resort are beautiful. The staff was very accommodating from the beginning making us feel welcome and taken care of. They had awesome entertainment (coordinated by our favorites Caroline and Juan Carlos) that made each day/night so more fun and interactive. Our butler Jeremih was so friendly and helpful, we highly recommend him. We did experience a tropical storm during our stay, but we felt safe and taken care of by the staff. Juan Carlos and Caroline went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed, and we are so grateful to them. We hope to visit again one day soon!

My husband and I spent a weekend at Sanctuary and I must say it is one of the best resorts I have ever stayed at, ever. Excellent service since the moment you walk in. We had Jose at the front desk, or better say it is like the front desk comes to you. Jose was so welcoming and attentive, sharing with us all the details and amenities of this beautiful place, motivating us even more. We arrived prior to check in so we were invited to look around and enjoy lunch, for which we chose the restaurant right at the beach with an amazing Seaview. We were then contacted by Jose, even before formal check in time, to let us know that our room was ready. We went back to reception and there was a kart waiting for us with our luggage. Arrived at our suite Building 5, 3rd floor, and my reaction was just Wow!! The size, the decor, the bed, the balcony and the Oceanview, again Wow. After that, everything was the same level of excellence. All staff had amazing customer service towards us. I have to mention: Severa, Genaro, especially Juan, Chavelin and Yaris who served us at the restaurants always with a smile and giving their very best. I must also mention the quality and variety of food, as well as the careful and safe display of the buffet which was served for you. All areas, pools, restaurants, decks, and lounges were absolutely amazing. Will definitely go back, hopefully very soon!

We had an amazing Friday- Tuesday stay! Everything was clean, food was amazing, pools were stunning, and the staff were beyond awesome. We stayed in the castle and Felix was the best!! He helped us with dinner reservations, planning a spa service, and checked in with us 2-3 times per day. He really made everything top notch. The best trip!

This was the best experience I received from a resort!! Everyone was so welcoming starting with our concierge (Laury) was awesome she took care of our request no problem!! our butler (Jeremia) was also attentive to our needs. I have no complaints entertainment was awesome everyone was so polite!! I definitely plan on returning here!!
