Service - 6/5 - this is the reason you go to this resort. The employees apart of every department in the organization (butler, front desk, managers, bartenders, wait staff, baristas, cooks, hostesses, grounds crew, housekeeping, etc) were exceptional. The effort they put in to learning names, remembering you, always positive, and willingness to help with any need was unbelievably consistent. Darling, our butler, was great. We never had an ask he couldn’t help us with and made an effort to checkin on use a few times each day to offer his help and guidance. Ronny, Juan, Saidy, Maria, and many others from the food and drink service teams were all great. Resort - 5/5 - the layout and all facilities (buildings, pools, beach, grounds) were clearly tended to frequently and all were exceptional. The beach maintenance was impressive for how much seaweed was coming to shore each day! The housekeepers also were excellent! Room - 5/5 - we stayed in a preferred club swim out suite. The room was very spacious. Bed was comfortable, bathroom always clean, and the porch with pool was a fun way to end an afternoon before dinner. Food - 3/5 - the food was a average. It was good. We went to Oceana our first night and both got seafood. I would recommend not getting raw seafood (tuna tataki) as it is very hard for them to keep chilled and fresh because of the climate (the restaurant is outdoors). We each got cooked seafood for our main dish. All was good but over cooked. From talking with others, most had similar experiences. We then went to the Boudreaux the 2nd night. The food was great. They did a great job properly cooking the steak. The third night, we enjoyed Hibachi. The food was great. The teppanyaki show was minimal. It was clear they keep the schedule between each dinner show tight so no time for the typical tricks from the cook. Mexican the 3rd night was good. Margaritas were not the best. However they made them it seemed the ingredients would separate. They would bring a cart with high end tequila to your table to make the margarita so it was a little disappointing of the outcome. Porto Fino the following night was delicious. They do a great job cooking their pasta and salmon with risotto. We had 2 more dinners so we repeated our top 2 favorites Boudreaux and Porto Fino. We tried new dishes and both were great the 2nd time around too! For lunch we liked Seaside Grill for a sit down restaurant. BUT, our favorite were the daily barbecue lunches on the beach. Casual and perfect lunch food for a tropical destination. For breakfast we liked Market Place Cafe the best. The variety plus omelette station and crepe station were what we enjoyed the most. Rosewater was good, but the menu was a limited version of what you get at Market Place Cafe. Room service was good when order. Timely and tasty. Coco Cafe iced coffee was a must each day. Bars - 5/5 - We really didn’t hang out at any of the bars. We instead enjoyed the wonderful waitstaff at the pool, beach, lobby, and theater to help us with out drink needs. Drinks were never bad and variety was excellent. Espresso Martinis with their tasty coffee ground were excellent. All their frozen drinks tasted excellent. Booze amounts seemed to vary significantly from order to order. Presidente (and when lucky Coors Light and Corona) hit the spot when floating in the pool and sitting on the beach. Darling, our butler, did a great job working with the bar to get us a 6 pack of Corona on ice delivered to our room a couple times during our stay to enjoy when we sat on our porch or in our pool. Spa - 5/5 - we got 3 treatments each (6 total) over 2 different days. The hydro therapy area was great! Careful with the sauna. It was up to nearly 200 Fahrenheit the 2nd time we went. The steam room was out of service. The massages, facial, pedicure, and body wrap treatments were amazing. The staff did an excellent job providing the services. Locker rooms were clean and had all the traditional spa amenities. Overall - 5/5 - the service really drove this final score. It is what we enjoyed the most and allowed us to relax our entire trip.…
