Nice hotel with really good customer service. There is a minibus service every day to Tropea for extra charge. 15 min walk to the nearest store. For a hot august holiday, it was good that this hotel is on the beach. For extra charge there is also full or half board which we also took. Every evening there is evening program at the beach bar.
We felt warmly welcomed in Torre Marino.

Relaxed atmosphere with a calm and family friendly beach right next to the hotel. Beautiful and well managed garden with lots of flowers. The cleaning was great and we got plenty of new clean towels every day. Nice pizza in the bar by the beach, but the food in the restaurant was boring. Good though we could switch dinner to lunch and instead go to Tropea for dinner every night. The location of the hotel is isolated, but the shuttle bus worked fine to us. Though we found it expensive (9 euro per person/trip). Staff was ok, but not always that service minded. For example we had to struggle to sit togheter with our family members during dinner/lunch.

Good family runned hotel with great swimming pool and private beach. Very frendly stuff, allthough the rooms need makeover especially showers and bed linen. Food was great, shuttle transfer to Tropea also . Bar service on the beach all day long with live music from Salvo who is playing well known Italian songs and creating good atmosphere - best of the best.
We made great memories during our vacation - we will for sure return to this beautiful place in Calabria.

Caribbean Feeling with Italian touch

First, we had an amazing good time in a nice small Hotel, perfect situated close to beach, with amazing Italian fish (and other) food. Very close to the Italian tradition and fare a way from mas tourism and there habit of consumption. Very friendly personal. Would book every time again.
The arrival was at 8 am, and we could check-in and we could use our 2 rooms immediately.
normally is at 4 pm!
One Star!
Both rooms where located in small separated apartment. Exceptionally clean, good bed maybe a bit hard matrass (my opinion). Lovely located in a tidy garden. Very silent during day and nights. 2 easy seats and the table outside and a fritsch. Lovely to sit in front of your room, and to pass the the day before you go to sleap.
Second Star!
Food! Important to me and my wife. We were absolute more then only satisfied.
If you like fish and the typical way how Italians serve their food (Starter, First course, separately later the meat or fish as Main, then the dessert) than there is nothing to complain about.
You have every day the choise of fish or meat as main dishes. The Morning buffet is for a typical Italian quite big. Normally Italians take a coffee and a biscuit!
Third Star!
Clean, private beach with plenty of space only a view steps away from your room. With your own sunchair and umbrella (rental is inclouded in room price) with very clear transparently sea!
Forth Star!
Nice small beach bar with enough space to find a seat under an sunumbrella to enjoy drinks to a resonal price and a perfect view to the see.
Fifth Star.

To all who wrote a bad Reviews.

Nothing in a foreign country is bad just different!

The hotel is extremely noisy in the evenings. Our room was located so, that we could hear music playing at the same time from three different places until midnight. It was so unreal that we just laughed. We expected cosy atmosphere and place to rest, and this was definitively not that.

Food was really awful, so we went to the hotel next door to eat. Pizza from beach bar was raw and tasted like yeast. Location is isolated, no shops nearby and there is a 9€ fee for the shuttle to get to Tropea and back.

Aurinkomatkat was our travel agency. Didn't see the guide for the whole week, and if you would like to go to organised tours and trips, you would have to walk the winding, hilly roads to some other hotel. With almost 70 years of age, we decided not to go.

In the hotel room all was worn out and a little bit dirty. Maybe this is what you get for 2 stars? The sea and the beach are very beautiful though. The only reason we stayed the whole week.

Let’s not hide it, I’ve fallen in love with the place, so let’s dive into the reasons:
1) the owners – Maurizio and Michele are easy-going and highly supportive (we’d forgotten the medication, but the following morning, I was driven to the local pharmacy and immediately driven back (heart medication, so the speed really plays the role)); apart from that, we’ve always felt welcome with any demands (wheelchair and mobility issues), and everything was sorted out to our satisfaction;
2) the staff – from the day one, everybody was smiling, greeting and chitchatting (given the limits of my Italian);
3) the environment – the whole area has a small village feeling – seeing the people passing by, smiling and starting occasional small talks – I’ve had a lot of chitchats and fun with staff and other guests; besides, the garden is exquisitely designed and well-preserved;
4) the beach – private, secluded and equipped – what to want more? Actually, the beach bar offers the more;
5) the transport to Tropea – three times a day with the price of only €9, it is a day-trip to try – the local cathedral has unexploded bombs inside (for real) – and you don’t have to worry to get some prosecco; however, the local transportation does not exist, so you depend on the hotel transfer, BUT you are driven if you are the only person – my case, no complaints and even nice and informative conversation;
6) languages – my Italian is poor, so it is a great help that German and English are spoken;
Warnings:
1) water – it is drinkable, but it is salty (not dangerous, just unpleasant); the case I have come across in several places across the Mediterranean, so count on buying some bottled one;
2) speed – the time is sometimes metaphorical – 5 minutes becomes an hour, a day tomorrow; it’s like 40°C, so I wouldn’t be running around as well; the speed limits and road signs are also metaphorical – be careful when leaving the hotel premises;
3) salt and sand – they are everywhere and leave their traces, so give up on the highly polished surfaces – the sea is about 50 metres away at most; however, it does NOT mean that the rooms are not clean – the maids clean them and replace towels every day;
To sum it up, I shy away from the standardised experience, so I look for the small unique things and the hotel really offers them galore. So, if you are into discovering and diving into the experience, don’t hesitate. Stay gold, gentlemen; stay gold!

Lovely, charming hotel directly by the sea. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The food is amazing, daily fresh food with choice between different dishes. 5 stars because of the breakfast bar by the ocean!

Absolutely the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. The hotel should be embarrassed to call themselves a hotel club. I had to stay in 3 separate during my 2 week stay. We had issue after issue during our stay and I'm going to let anyone that is thinking about coming here know what kind of business they are and show you proof. First we were told the WIFI was everywhere at the location and well that is a lie,it doesnt work in the rooms at all.
Now on to the rooms, first room was completely filthy and room needed to be cleaned again before we could stay in it. Then when we finally got the room cleaned again, we went to get a drink of water and it tasted completely disgusting and like salt which made us go ask if there was something wrong with the water. First the reception told us the water could be drank and after knowing we had infant and needed to make bottles with it they said "no". We had to buy water for drinking during our stay. They didnt even have signs showing the water couldnt be drank and could have lead to a serious issue. On a few occassions the water even came out yellow. Then in the same room the AC broke so they moved to another room for what was suppose to be one night so the AC could be fixed( things break so we tried to understand and work with them for both of our benefits). In next room we the sewer was backing up in the shower and the doors would not secure. We had no other option but to stay in the room due to no other rooms be available and having a baby. They ensured us that the next day the AC would be fixed which it wasn't and had to stay a couple nights in the room with a sewer problem and a door that would not secure. Eventually a 3rd room became available where everything was suppose to be working. In this room the shower head was broken and the water was not going down the drain. We eventually went to one of the owners which they stay on the property. They seemed to care less about our concerns and when they were addressed we were told we could leave and pay the entire bill for the stay. They also accused us of writing a review on a fake account. This was completely ridiculous expecially due to the fact I couldnt wait to finish my stay and pay the bill so I could give the review they deserve. During this time was a holiday and all hotels were booked well in advance and we couldn't believe they said such things in front of other guest. We have never been treated so bad by a establishment and owners. Through our stay we met several families with similar issues and complaints and that were completely dissatisfied with their stay some even were from the Italy and were going to file complaints when they got back to their home towns. It even went so far as them placing another person in our first room where the AC was still broken and told them they didnt know it was broken.
For our 2 weeks stay it was issue after issue from them telling us that the locker in the room were extra when it states on their website it is included, to them even telling us that our credit card an American Express wasn't working. When I contacted my card company they ensured me it was working and the the merchant didn't accept American Express even thought they expressly told us in a email that they did as well as the reception staff telling us the same. During our stay they took our towels and never replaced them and had to wait several hours to recieve them.
The establishment had a life guard on duty but he was really responsible for selling umbrellas and parking to individual's not staying at the hotel for cash. This place said they accepted dogs but because the owners had 3 dogs that they let run free and were aggressive toward other dogs our dog had to stay in room most of time.Their electricity also went out at hotel for several hours and several times.
My family is absolutely appalled at this establishment and the way they treat their guest. Every complaint was taken to the reception. Don't be fooled by any response by management of the business which will attack the customers that expose their inadequacies. The worst of all they refused to accept my American Express even though they said they accepted and it forced me to have to get cash from ATMs and pay additional fees. As I originally stated they should be embarrassed of their service they provided to their guest. Will never go here again and will write a review everywhere I can about this establishment and its conduct.

This was one of the best hotels I've stayed at. The staff was so helpful and understanding. Whenever you asked someone for something there was no problems just "no worries".

Free sunbeds (usually atleast €5 at a normal beach), free borrowing of cayaks and pedal boats. AmAZING!

The bad side of the hotel was that it's a bit far from Tropea town. And a lot of high hills to walk to nearest supermarket. But the location was amazing, own private beach, amazing pool and great staff. Terrible food though.

We wanted to have a quiet pieceful holidays, not very turistic but still close to the city. And this we got. But that's all. We have never experienced such bad service and food in our lives.
First good things: the location, the beach and the sea are great, the resort with bungalows is OK - well maintained and clean, the beach bar and Michelle are are also good and the pizza there is njami... Shuttle transfer to Tropea is a good option, but very expensive (9 €/person).
But this is all that is good.
The worst is the service. The staff is indiferent, they are not smiling, they are not welcoming, they don't speak much. They don't speak any language, they don't communicate even in italian. Whatever you asked them, they didn't know. Every day we asked for the third towel as we were 3 and not 2, mostly we also asked for the toalet paper as they didn't put the new one. A total disaster.
Rooms very, very basic and outated. Clean though. No chairs in the room. Beds not equal - very different quality. They were on a simple iron bases. For 3* - really? The shower so small that I don't know how some larger people get into it. But we had a great garden with a table and chair outside, so that we were rather satisfied.
The other disaster is the food. Every day the same breakfast - one sort of cheese, one sort of salami, buttre, jam, too sweet jogurt, bad coffee, tea. And this is it. The bread was constantly missing, they didn't bring the new one for a long time. The dinner was too late (8.00 p.m.) and took so long, that we almost never waited for a fruit at the end. Very, very slow service. We waited for the next meal (2 courses) even for 30 minutes. And portions were so little that they were not enough even for a child. And food itself was very, very bad. Dry or overcooked, bad taste. And repetitive. Apetizer were enough. It was gone in first minutes and they didn't bring the new one for very long time. So we almost never eat it. Like they were saving on guests.
The restaurant (if you can call the place bay the pool with plasticc tables and chair restaurant) was by the pool, so noone could be on the pool during breakfast, lunch or dinner. Very unpropriate.
The pool was big enough but sometimes dirty. Not much guests at the pool. There were sunbeds but not umbrellas, therefore no shadow.
Arround the hotel there is nothing, the nearest town is Tropea (7 km) which is nice.
We knew that we cannot expect much from the Calabria and 3* hotel, but nevertheless we didn't expect so bad experience.
We strongly advice you not to book this hotel.
