Conclusion: with very little effort, you could get a lot more out of the hotel.
Despite the small defects, we really enjoyed the holiday and were able to relax away from the hustle and bustle.

In conclusion, the structure is good and beautiful, it can certainly be improved, but first ask who will frequent it during the week you are staying because it could be unnerving and not relaxing!

We felt warmly welcomed in Torre Marino.
arriving we find no one to welcome us, and it is also extremely difficult to understand where the reception is (on the third floor, you have never seen...) which at 9.30 in the morning was closed anyway. The structure appears immediately dated, but this would not have created any discomfort; except that inside the room there was a shower tray without shower or curtain, mold on all the walls of the room, ants along the entire perimeter, totally non-working TV and electricity that went out every 15 minutes on a regular basis, not allowing you to use the air conditioning. It should also be added that every week of the high season the entire structure is COMPLETELY monopolized by groups of 60/70 Neapolitan people who, with Neapolitan do, leave very little tranquility to other hotel guests. In fact, the whole organization of the day depends on their presence: meal times are absolutely not respected, the only indoor room with a minimum of ventilation is reserved for them, if the group is not seated at the table lunch or dinner does not start to be served. As for the food and service, they add to the sore notes of this experience: breakfast consisting only of milk / coffee, ONE cake, empty croissants with the possibility of adding only jam, if you are lucky a couple of days you will also find the hazelnut cream and also everything just described, if that morning Maurizio wakes up badly rudeness and the absence of food will be what you have as a start to the day. Lunch and dinner are made to "choose" with a sheet: the choice will be either between 2 first courses and 1 second, or vice versa, the non-existent dessert for 7 days and fruit only for the real daredevils who will be sitting at the table until 15 at lunch or 22 for dinner. Animation and games totally non-existent, I do not spend negative words for the two girls present because they made me very tender, as well as for all the waiters who were also the close umbrellas and present at EVERY service EVERY day, without an ounce of experience. I conclude by informing that there is no lifeguard for the pool or for the beach, the latter is really the only gem of all this horror: the location and the sea in fact are spectacular, the sunsets breathtaking. A real shame to run a 3 star rated property that I personally believe should be closed totally nowadays.
Food was really awful, so we went to the hotel next door to eat. Pizza from beach bar was raw and tasted like yeast. Location is isolated, no shops nearby and there is a 9€ fee for the shuttle to get to Tropea and back.
Aurinkomatkat was our travel agency. Didn't see the guide for the whole week, and if you would like to go to organised tours and trips, you would have to walk the winding, hilly roads to some other hotel. With almost 70 years of age, we decided not to go.
In the hotel room all was worn out and a little bit dirty. Maybe this is what you get for 2 stars? The sea and the beach are very beautiful though. The only reason we stayed the whole week.

First, we had an amazing good time in a nice small Hotel, perfect situated close to beach, with amazing Italian fish (and other) food. Very close to the Italian tradition and fare a way from mas tourism and there habit of consumption. Very friendly personal. Would book every time again.
The arrival was at 8 am, and we could check-in and we could use our 2 rooms immediately.
normally is at 4 pm!
One Star!
Both rooms where located in small separated apartment. Exceptionally clean, good bed maybe a bit hard matrass (my opinion). Lovely located in a tidy garden. Very silent during day and nights. 2 easy seats and the table outside and a fritsch. Lovely to sit in front of your room, and to pass the the day before you go to sleap.
Second Star!
Food! Important to me and my wife. We were absolute more then only satisfied.
If you like fish and the typical way how Italians serve their food (Starter, First course, separately later the meat or fish as Main, then the dessert) than there is nothing to complain about.
You have every day the choise of fish or meat as main dishes. The Morning buffet is for a typical Italian quite big. Normally Italians take a coffee and a biscuit!
Third Star!
Clean, private beach with plenty of space only a view steps away from your room. With your own sunchair and umbrella (rental is inclouded in room price) with very clear transparently sea!
Forth Star!
Nice small beach bar with enough space to find a seat under an sunumbrella to enjoy drinks to a resonal price and a perfect view to the see.
Fifth Star.
To all who wrote a bad Reviews.
Nothing in a foreign country is bad just different!

I stayed at the accommodation with my mum for a week for a little break. We were given a very warm welcome when we checked in and enjoyed the beautiful grounds, which also have direct access to the beach and the sea.
As I am the service manager in a restaurant in Berlin, I would like to really praise the great service and the food, as I have a direct comparison. In the morning you can help yourself to the buffet and at lunch and dinner you always get 4 courses. If you didn't like it one time, you were given something else straight away (you always had the choice between 2 dishes).
In the evening you get to see the perfect sunset in the sea and can end the day with the other guests at the bar, listening to the sound of the waves.
You are all so great that we have already arranged to meet up again next year with other guests who have come often!
We wish you all the best!

Very nice and accommodating hosts, everything very familiar.
Small problems were always solved immediately (TV not working, shower not closing)
Food was plentiful and always very tasty. Plenty of choice and fresh.
Right by the sea, stones in the water, water shoes recommended!
We'd love to come back!

1) the owners – Maurizio and Michele are easy-going and highly supportive (we’d forgotten the medication, but the following morning, I was driven to the local pharmacy and immediately driven back (heart medication, so the speed really plays the role)); apart from that, we’ve always felt welcome with any demands (wheelchair and mobility issues), and everything was sorted out to our satisfaction;
2) the staff – from the day one, everybody was smiling, greeting and chitchatting (given the limits of my Italian);
3) the environment – the whole area has a small village feeling – seeing the people passing by, smiling and starting occasional small talks – I’ve had a lot of chitchats and fun with staff and other guests; besides, the garden is exquisitely designed and well-preserved;
4) the beach – private, secluded and equipped – what to want more? Actually, the beach bar offers the more;
5) the transport to Tropea – three times a day with the price of only €9, it is a day-trip to try – the local cathedral has unexploded bombs inside (for real) – and you don’t have to worry to get some prosecco; however, the local transportation does not exist, so you depend on the hotel transfer, BUT you are driven if you are the only person – my case, no complaints and even nice and informative conversation;
6) languages – my Italian is poor, so it is a great help that German and English are spoken;
Warnings:
1) water – it is drinkable, but it is salty (not dangerous, just unpleasant); the case I have come across in several places across the Mediterranean, so count on buying some bottled one;
2) speed – the time is sometimes metaphorical – 5 minutes becomes an hour, a day tomorrow; it’s like 40°C, so I wouldn’t be running around as well; the speed limits and road signs are also metaphorical – be careful when leaving the hotel premises;
3) salt and sand – they are everywhere and leave their traces, so give up on the highly polished surfaces – the sea is about 50 metres away at most; however, it does NOT mean that the rooms are not clean – the maids clean them and replace towels every day;
To sum it up, I shy away from the standardised experience, so I look for the small unique things and the hotel really offers them galore. So, if you are into discovering and diving into the experience, don’t hesitate. Stay gold, gentlemen; stay gold!
