Many many thanks Judi for your kind words and return visits. Your great word picture of Las Animas being "so peaceful that you can hear the whale "blow" in the distance!" pretty much says it all. So glad you are getting to experience the "magic of the Midriff Islands" both in the winter and the Fall. As you will see it's both a great new experience with the whale sharks and warmer water and weather. Yet all the things you love, will still be there too. So many thanks for your continued advocacy, sharing your photos and videos here and with our Facebook page. See you again.

It's been a dream of mine for several years now to snorkel with whale sharks. I tried some less expensive options, but the experiences were not satisfactory. I finally decided that if I kept messing around, I'd get too old to enjoy the experience, so I made the reservation.

Many thanks Harbor Traveler for joining us at Las Animas Ecolodge in the remote Midriff Island region of the Sea of Cortez. So glad you experienced the magic and diversity this truly pristine region has to offer. We are delighted Mother nature gave you a good show way beyond whale sharks and the staff took care of your needs. Over the 29 years we have been operating in Baja, we love to hear comments like yours. We'll be sure to pass them on to the team. Now that you are part of our alumni family, you are entitled to great thank return and referral discounts, plus free upgrades. Hope to you again for Whale watching Feb. - April and more magical Baja ecotourism. Best, Team Baja AirVentures

Ten years ago, in 2009, I went to swim with the whale sharks with Baja AirVentures. I literal wept when our ponga pulled away the last day. An incredible trip! I am a retired, adventurous traveler, and since then I have been to Africa, Antarctica, and the Amazon River. The

Although we didn't visit in the best time of the year we certainly made the most of our visit to Las Animas. We chose to drive there from San Diego and that way we did see more of the Baja peninsula. We were greeted by Gray and the rest of the staff on the shores of Bahia de

So many thanks for your review and the very touching quote from your son., "Dad, is this one of those one in lifetime trips that I will talk about for years after?" He is only 10. Way to go Dad and son. :-) As parents ourselves wanting to share the world, culture and the outdoors with our families, we couldn't think of a more meaningful statement we would hope from any kid or adult... Our parents made the effort too to take us camping, traveling and support our exposure to the outdoors. Since 3 of the 5 Warren kids work in Baja outdoor tourism I can honestly say that trips with our parents have helped us create a lifetime of fond memories and inspired us to enhance quality of life helping families like yours'. Remember as part of our alumni family, you all are welcome to return any time and get some nice alumni discounts. Plus any referrals you send our way will also provide you some "Thank you" bonuses and savings you can apply to future Baja AirVentures vacations. All the best.

Thank you Dannie for sharing your heart-felt adventures at Las Animas wilderness ecolodge. So glad you can see that we are committed to an amazing wilderness nature experience, yet maintain high levels of comfort and service in a very remote natural environment. Thank you so much for your advocacy and sharing your fond memories, images and videos with us, friends and associates. Word of mouth sharing is our best way to connect with like minded souls who seek the unique experience that Las Animas Ecolodge is. See you again soon.

Yes Defnjeb the deluxe yurts ( and all the yurts) come with two beds. They can even fit 3 beds in the deluxe yurts because these buildings are huge. Plus with the loft over the bathroom, there's lots of room. When are you traveling and with how many people?

Greetings Valentin. The best time to see and get up close to whale sharks in Baja, Mexico near us is August - beginning of November. You are right December is too cold. Here's more details on our special whale shark trips. We have a 100% success rate in seeing and swimming with whale sharks in our own very private location, free from lots of tourist. Seeing 4 - 8 in a 1/2 day outing is not unusual. Can you travel in those months? WE still have many ideal dates open still. My personal preference would be mid Sept - Beg. of November because the air temp is cooling down but the water temp is delightful. Feel free to call Kevin @ 800-221-9283 or 1-619-421-2235 for any questions and check availability. All the best, Tourism Tim

Greetings Commodora; WE have upgraded our solar power system and batteries so we can have power all night. And it also depends on the time of year because in AUgust and sept when it's hotter and we have more people there because of cool whale shark snorkeling trips, our system can be a bit challenged. And during this time we have a backup generator. We try to keep power active, and we can't 100% guarantee it will be available 100% of the time. When are you wanting to book trip? Best way for us to figure out if this is going to work is to talk on the phone. I can be reached at 800-221-9283 or 707-495-8960. We have had MANY guests with a variety of special needs who have had trips of a lifetime with us. We hope to have the same with you both too. Best, Tim Warren for Baja AirVentures

Hey Pat; Do your dogs get along with other dogs well? We have our lodge dog Chaco. Best to call Kevin at 800-221-9283 to see if this is a good idea for your dogs and Chaco. Have you already called Kevin and made reservations? We only take guests who drive in for a 3 night minimum that are booked at in advance based on availability. All the best, Tim

HI ,FIRST ASK the owner about the dogs and the panga just in case....In our way inn it was scary because was too windy and we encounter huge waves and the ride took 2 hours of continuous movement and splashy waters on the way back only 40 minutes without wind on a calm and smooth boat ride. You have to hold the dogs.for sure and yourself ..maybe the captain assistant can help you with them. The panga is not big around 12 people. Put gas on the car on the last stop to fuel before driving over there. Enjoy your trip.
