Well it has really become home from home, you know that as you get closer you remember the roads the villages and all the memories come flooding back. This happens for us around Chalus (where Richard the lionheart met his demise) driving down the long country road you can feel the weariness drain away as you look forward to another great week away. Do we ever get bored going back to the same tranquil spot? no no no the sound of birds crickets and frogs is the only noise we need. The village has got even better due to the small but friendly pub which has opened and its very dog friendly staff. We are just starting to scratch the surface of this beautiful area and are looking forward to next year. The welcome we get from Gaynor and Victor is warm and more like friends than gite guests, Victor cooks a lovely curry and its not to be missed. Loved my lazy day by the lake reading and swimming with the dog. So if you want peace, tranquility and time to relax this is the place for you your family and your dog, they'll love it

Thank you so much George and Lizzie for an absolutely super review of your stay at our cottage La Maison Jaune just up the road from our B & B La Boucherie. It's always a pleasure to see you both and Maisie and have you stay. Indeed you are very much like friends. Having the bar in the village now, just a few minutes walking distance from the cottage, in addition to an excellent bakery, has certainly added to the amenities our village can offer. It's a beautiful area, as you say, and many of our guests come back year after year always wanting to explore, visit and revisit the picturesque villages and towns nearby. And at the end of the day come back to peace and tanquility and an evening swim. Thank you again and we look forward to next year. Gaynor & Victor

Our two day stay at Boucherie was all we could have hoped for, and more...... Whether for a short stay on the way through to elsewhere (as we were) or for a tranquil 'get away from it all' destination in its own right, the location Is terrific, and coupled with Gaynor and Victor's generous and warm hospitality it's hard to imagine not enjoying time here. We, and our dog Gus, were made to feel very much at home. We stayed in the B & B at Boucherie itself, which was perfect for us, but their self catering cottage just down the lane, with its own land and the lake, looks very enticing too. The location is perfect as a base for exploring the northern Dordogne and although we were only there a short time, V & G's helpful tips led to a lovely day out at Brantôme and nearby villages. Breakfasts were delicious and we would also highly recommend taking the option of evening dining in here. As well as being incredibly reasonable, the high standard of cooking was as good as anything else we had in France, and that's saying something (really Vic!). Coupled with our host's delightful company this made for for two memorable evenings. Thanks to you both for looking after us so well and especially for the extra treats on our wedding anniversary (even though my wife and I didn't agree on our number of married years!) We had a delightful time and we plan to be back...... Thank you again, we really feel that we left having made some new friends. Very special. C & V Cheshire

Thank you so much Clive and Vicky for giving us such a really stupendous review. It was an absolute delight to meet you both and not forgetting Gus, who settled in really well and like his 'mum and dad' was no trouble at all!! In fact all three perfect guests. We were delighted that your stop-over sejour worked so well and we really enjoyed having you as guests in our home. We'd be absolutely delighted if you plan to come to this part of France again to stay either with us at La Boucherie, or at our self-catering cottage, La Maison Jaune. At either location we're always happy to do evening meals. Your accolades about the cuisine have been much appreciated. Thank you. Do come and again and we can carry on with all the various topics of discussion and attempt to put 'the world to rights'!! Gaynor & Vic

We returned last week from Gaynor and Vic's lovely farmhouse having spent 4 fantastic nights with them.Myself (I have been all over France on bike trips) my wife (first time to central France) our springer. My wife was very worried about the distance and taking the dog but after just one day she was convinced,. she loved the place great walks great roads great friendly people. Gaynor and Vic made us so welcome it was heart warming and put her mind to rest cooking the food she liked (very fussy eater) every night. Gaynor gave us great advice on local attractions to visit which was time saving and informative-thank you

we stayed at boucherie b and b for three nights in september. Gaynor and Victor were great hosts and they made us, and our dog, very welcome. Their dogs, toby and fina were great fun as well. Our room and bathroom were clean and cosy, and the nearby lake was brilliant to walk to everyday. we were given directions to nearby towns and villages which we enjoyed visiting. Breakfast was really good quality and quantity, and Victor and Gaynor made a delicious evening meal for us with excellent wine, catering well for vegetarians i look forward to returning to boucherie again and would recommend it to people travelling to this part of France
