Judy & I stayed for 3 nights at the start of our holiday in Cambodia. The zip-line entrance into the hotel was unforgettable and made the start of a unique experience. The activities - we went foraging and out with the Wildlife Alliance rangers - were great to do and with the right balance of activities and relaxation. What really makes Shinta Mani Wild a pleasure to stay in is the team members - whether it's a drink with Dave & Mingma in the Landing Zone bar or the friendly & personal service with Chot, James and Po. Our adventure butler Seiha was brilliant and looked after us wonderfully during our time there. Well done to all the team.
Making your grand entrance to ur hotel via zipline was amazing. The facilities were world class and the hospitality was amazing from the start to the end. We were very well looked after, well fed and never felt thirsty at all for the entire stay. The rumbling of the raging sister waterfall and crisp fresh air is something I will miss also. Really enjoyed the entire experience and gettint to know the people and area.
What an amazing experience this was. By far the best hotel I have stayed ever. The accommodations are thematic and perfect. Each villa has great privacy. The food is amazing, certainly when you consider to be in the middle of the jungle (Khmer as well as international kitchen). The service is impeccable and all activities compliment the overall experience. Fantastic!!!
We have been planning on visiting this hotel since it opened and had actually booked a 4 night stay for the summer of 2020 (we obviously couldn't make it given what was going around...). The only slightly bad thing with this property was the refund process for the deposit for our first stay (it took quite a while) - but after that, this hotel exceeded in every possible way. After waiting another 2 years to make the trek there after having to cancel our 2020 reservation, I felt almost as if we would have to be disappointed because of the expectations we had for the stay. Shinta Mani managed to surpass them all which is saying A LOT. I have traveled to some of the best resorts in the world (Nekupe, Awasi, Explora, Tierra, Al Maha, Six Senses, Ritz Reserves, etc.) and Shinta Mani sits firmly in the top tier of these hotels. I would not hesitate for an instant to go back and am already thinking about planning our next stay. I'll follow this up with my usual pro/con list, but honestly it's not even worth it - if you're considering going, go. Yes the price is high, but so are other hotels that don't provide a fraction of the benefits Shinta Mani does. Pros: - The design of the hotel is unparalleled. I can firmly say this is the coolest and best hotel design of any hotel I have visited in the world. It is freakin awesome - and all the tents are unique. From the big things to the small things (the little books in the room that explain all of the need-to-knows) everything has been thought of and they're somehow still trying to improve on things (Mac - one of the managers showed us a mock-up of a new mini-bar concept. They literally took something perfect and made it more perfect because the team had a better idea for it. Talk about not resting on your laurels) - Bill Bensley's concept of having truly everything inclusive is amazing and something that really makes Shinta Mani stand out. I've been to some amazing all-inclusive hotels, but I have not been to one that includes spa treatments (we had 7 over a 4 night stay), champagne, and the caliber of alcohol they provide. There was no bill at checkout (unless you would like to tip - which was 100% deserved by all staff, but not pushed upon the guests at all. In fact in the booklet in the room it was mentioned that the 10% service charge is split by the staff which I haven't seen at any other hotel and usually just goes to the bottom line) - The service goes beyond top notch. Shinta Mani accomplishes what other places like it are trying to do. It's not easy to balance the high demands of guests with friendly and genuine service - they do it flawlessly here and we've left with a number of friends. Pop, Chot, and Po were not only our butler, bartender, etc. but genuine friends throughout the stay, but for the future. Their enjoyment of our company was infectious and multiplied our experience 10-fold. I'll forever be thankful for how special they made our stay (along with the rest of the staff) - Spa treatments were AWESOME. An amazing variety and crazy good masseuses. A highlight of the stay for sure. - Picnic lunches by the water were some of the best lunches and memories I've had. Sitting there having a 4 course lunch while sipping on a bottle of champagne cannot be beat - The sundowner experience takes sundowners to a whole new level. Again, Bensley comes though with amazing design aspects and a crazy cool presentation. Must be experienced. - The boat day is just pure fun. We had a few of the staff members join us since there was only two of us and we enjoyed the whole days eating, having cocktails and playing the guitar on the beach. One of the best days I've ever had (even in the pouring rain!) - I've mentioned food and bev a few times. It's amazing - there's nothing really more to say. 10/10 - I could go on an on with pros (the entrance experience, departure experience, wildlife alliance experience, hiking, foraging, etc.) but it's better experienced than read about (and honestly typing this is giving me serious jealousy towards anyone there) Cons: - Refund process for cancellations (already covered this and they have changed their policies). So no longer a concern but including since I don't have anything else. Writing this review is even tough because I almost want to be selfish and have less people go there! But the staff, management, and ultimately Bill Bensley deserve all of the accolades in the world. They've created a truly special place that I am very excited to return to.…
Words cannot adequately describe just what a paradise Shinta Mani Wild is. Yes, there is a private zipline into the resort. Who builds a zipline to serve 15 rooms?! Yes, you get a gorgeous tent with a stunning view no matter what room you're assigned. The food is amazing, and the drinks and massages just keep coming. Yes, you'll have an itinerary of interesting experiences to give you a real sense of where you're at. Everything from riding a motorbike through the forest to cruising down the river in a pontoon boat. But it is really the people that make the difference here. From our butler Lucky, to Chef Tim, to all the other staff like Chot, Kunthea, Dave and Mac, the team really comes together to take amazing care of you in a way that feels like they genuinely care. Running a place like this is a real logistics challenge because of how spread out everything is. But this team pulls it off like a well-rehearsed orchestra with heart. As another reviewer mentioned, this is not a place with grand marble lobbies. Instead, it is a place where attention is paid to small details that make your stay altogether unique. Having been to many fancy places, including luxurious safaris in South Africa, I must say that it has been a privilege to have experienced staying here. …
It is actually quite hard to describe Shinta Mani Wild in a way that does it justice. The team have somehow managed create a perfect balance of embracing and protecting the stunning surroundings whilst providing a true luxury experience - and not the soulless grand 5* marble glitzy reception type of luxury, the type of luxury that makes you feel like the whole team have created an experience for just you and they really care about how you specifically enjoy that experience. The team are incredible- so kind, so skilled, so funny, so caring - I genuinely still miss our butler Pop who not only looked after us so well but also struck the perfect balance between making us feel special but also openly sharing with us about his life and the struggles Cambodia has and is facing. The ladies in the Spa were amazing and Chef Tim's food was incredible - and again a perfect balance of high end dining but still embracing the Cambodian food and local ingredients. There are so many small perfect details I could bore anyone about for hours but the two things that I'll never forget are the sense of peace and calm sitting overlooking that waterfall and going out on patrol with the wildlife alliance. Another guest has written a wonderful review of what the patrols with the alliance are like and the only thing I have to add is that its not a show put on for the tourists, you really feel like you are seeing them do the critical work they do to protect the forest at such an important time and it feels really special knowing you are a small part of making that happen. I have been very fortunate to stay in some amazing hotels around the world and I am picky and hard to please - and my only negative is that we didn't stay longer. It isn't cheap and we did think hard about whether or not to book it and I can honestly say it was worth every penny. Thank you to Dave, Pop, Chef Tim and the whole team for making it so special.…
Perfection. Decadence. Attention to detail. This beautiful resort is on a piece of land nestled between two national parks, and they’ve made painstaking efforts to stay true to the area and be as eco friendly as possible (eg we didn’t see a single piece of plastic during the entire stay). But this doesn’t take away from the absolutely luxurious experience they create. The tents are a work of art, and the staff is nothing short of wonderful. From our kind and attentive adventure butler Seha, to Ron the multi talented ranger and Lyda and the rest of the wonderful staff at HQ who overfed and spoiled us. We’ve been waiting a year to go on our honeymoon and it was worth the wait. We hope to be back soon!
This place. THIS place is above and beyond in everything. Location, service, personnel, facilities, food, quality, nature, design. Everything - bar none - is absolutely world class. Escapism, as the designer of the hotel uses as a description of what he offers, it what you get. This is amongst the elite of tented camps.
This is really WILD experiences, the arrival at the entrance were greeted by smiling face of butler, then Vietnam war era Jeep get us to the tower where we zipline fly over the waterfall to check in at the bar where welcome drink, smiling receptionist with cold towel waiting for us. Food either at breakfast or dinner were great, GM cocktail and boat ride along the river were memorable experiences. All the staffs are friendly, eager to please and go extra mile to make sure our stay is comfortable our activities are enjoyable. The tent is WOW, the bed so soft, the amenities are wonderful, the terrace is the best place to relax and listening the wild birds when returning to the tent.
Shanti Mani Wild is an outstanding resort in the middle of Cambodia’s jungle, along a beautiful river with incredible views, nature and adventure activities, immaculate service and very nice food. Must visit!!
