Arrived at the hotel around 5pm and was checked and back in the bar 10 minutes later. First impressions were this is a nice little pub. The food was nice and served quickly, and the atmosphere in the bar was good. After a couple of hours I thought I best go to the room as I had a meeting first... More

We visited the Red Lion for the first time last Sunday and had a lovely meal. We were served by Sarah and Callum who were both friendly and very welcoming and our food was delicious, well presented and fairly priced....we'll be back!!!

Wow, was our first impression of this beautiful hotel. My boyfriend and I visited this hotel on the 4th of July 2016 -6th July 2016 as a treat for my 40th birthday by my sister. From check in to check out the staff could not do enough. The room was clean, spacious, not forgetting a lovely four poster bed. The bathroom... More

We have just returned from a midweek break at this lovely old coaching inn. The inn is , as you would expect, quaint and quirky with lots of little alcoves and old oak beamed ceilings. We were in room 1 which was clean and fresh with a huge bathroom, the actual bedroom was a little small but nice. It is... More

My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights in room 16. I'll put the bad stuff in first, the hot water tap didn't have the 'end' on it, and the wall in the bathroom needed painting. The night entrance was right by the room entrance and stairs leading up from it went over part of the room, so occasionally... More

Lively olde worlde pub hotel in a charming village. We upgraded to the superior room which was separate from the pub and huge. We had been out to Party in the Park so the late night dinner availabilty until 10.00 was ideal. All staff were friendly helpful and happy.

Like most chain owned pubs and hotels, the virtues of the location, appearance and potential are subjugated by the conformity to corporate standards. In this case Greene King and not Fullers but nonetheless a potentially exciting and vibrant property turned out to be tired and bland. Try not maximising revenues and just do a few more things very well.

Stayed 2 nights in room 6 a supposed superior room. Toilet not cleaned around the rim, bathroom draines smelled, reported this and manager said they shouldn't be like that, nothing done. Metal windows were held in place on the outside with a piece of wood nailed on. Bath was chipped, huge cobweb in bathroom, top of four poster bed covered... More

We stayed at The Red Lion on Christmas eve 2015, The room was very cold, dirty and no toiletries in the bathroom. There was cobwebs on the ceiling and dead flies in the light fittings and the carpet did not look like it had been hoovered for a few days. We paid £80 for what was suppose to be a... More

Third visit here to a lovely hotel. Staff are friendly and helpful, food always excellent and very reasonably priced. A relaxing place to recharge the batteries and in a very pretty village. Highly recommended
