In the shadow of an ancient acacia tree, growing in the heart of the desert, there is a desert inn (khan) built of mud and date palms and decorated with carpets and recycled items-all natural. The variety of natural colors, shapes and textures and the peaceful environment produce a charming, soothing sensation and a sense of complete detachment from the hubbub of everyday life. These lodgings blend in harmoniously with their natural surroundings. There is no raucous entertainment that will ruin the quiet tranquility, allowing the visitors to experience the expansive desert vistas, taking in the slowly, ever-changing natural panoramas over the days and seasons - the colors and landscapes, the play of light and shadows, the spectacular desert sunrises and sunsets... Khan Be'erotayim has guest houses in several sizes, suited to couples, families and groups. Each guest house has a covered porch and a corner with seats and hammocks. There is also a large, central, communal guest hut in which meals are served and sweet herbal tea or coffee can be enjoyed around a bonfire. Here a variety of guests and desert dwellers meet: dreamers, nomads, researchers and travelers. At night, the place is lit by means of lanterns and solar-powered lighting. The greatest treasure Khan Be'erotayim offers is the scenery, the expanse and the quiet. We invite you to share this with us.
We have just returned from two days of a particularly exciting wedding.
Desert, The happy and welcoming staff, the excellent food, The showers are pampering, The tastefully built encampments and mud huts, were the best ground one could hope for for the love that flowed there in abundance.
In other words: Highly recommended! We arrived at the Khan the night before to get organized. We were rewarded with a bright face and a pampering dinner and breakfast. The staff did their job happily and served us during the whole day and a half in a pleasant atmosphere. The combination of all these with a canopy in front of a desert sunset, A bonfire in the center where coffee and tea are served non-stop, Overnight in cabins and a tent, Waking up in the morning for a shower, bonfire and meal, All of these create a wonderful atmosphere for such an exciting event. Many thanks to the wonderful team.

Been here 4 times now, and one of the things I love about this place is that it's always the same - the atmosphere, the cleanliness, the friendliness, and the great food. A little word of warning - if you come here, you need to know what you expect. But with this in mind, the place is a real gem in the desert and by far the best khan (desert lodge) I have been to in Israel. The place is comprised of a mixture of mud-built cabins which sleep anything between 2 to many more, and Bedouin style tents. There are 2 "centers", each with a central fire pit which serves complementary teas (2-3 types) and black cofee. Each such location has its own communal toilet and showers, always spotlessly clean, warm water running and solar electricity lit. Each cabin contains mattresses and a soft light. That's it. You need to bring your own bedware or sleeping bag and towels, and snacks and beer would also make sense. Outside each cabin one can find hammocks, a sitting area and a lot of desert serenity. The central fire pit is a great location to chit-chat with neighbors. There is a Bedouin-style restaurant area which serves breakfasts and dinners, on very short tables, all part of the package and always with the same fixed menu. Dinner includes 3 types of freshly cut salads, all very good, and a central dish of rice and minced meat, served with Bedouin style pita bread, which also serves as a plate. All generously served with no limitation. Prices have been fixed for the past 3 years at least at NIS 260 per adult and NIS 160 per child, per night, inclusive of dinner and breakfast. The place is perfect for a family, the kids have a lot of space to explore, gaze at the stars and take a camel tour (30-60 minutes, exra charges apply). All in all, and despite being so simple, there is ample of magic to this place which boasts high level of service and surprising cleanliness. We will come back here again and again, without a doubt.

It was our second visit to this great Khan. This time we took the mud cabin, which was basic but comfortable for a family of 4. Dinner at the main Bedouin tent was very tasty, and there is non-stop coffee and tea served at a central public campfire. There are no toilets or shower at the cabins, but the public showers are very clean and well equipped. Place is quiet and laidback, and conveniently located close to some very nice desert walking trails. Desert sky at night is clear and beautiful and perfect for watching stars. Highly recommended.

We had a wonderful time here. It is rustic and very simple. It was clean, but dusty. But it's an experience you won't forget. Take a journey into the Bedouin life. Enjoy the food, the desert, the stars, the camel ride, the community fire with tea and coffee. The team was friendly and professional.

Myself and my family visited this place twice. Furing the first time we came in passover and as we made our reservation on the very last minute we were albe to sleep in our own tent in an area which is designated only for tents. That was found out to be as well a great deal. Our 4 kids and us enjoyed this place that is isolated from any cell phone reception (unless you climb 2 mins up on the hill) and played with simple but enjoyable games.
The place offer so proffessional service that I didn't see even in lots of hotel: it start with a stuff that is always avilable with a smile, cleaningness of the whole area including showers and toilets and 24/7 free coffee and tea.
We took the deal which includes breakfast and dinner. The first one includes a typical Israeli gradients where every person (including the kids) was able to find something that he likes and the dinner was kind of bedouin meal which includes rice with meat and vegetables and baklawa for dessert. It was very tasty but I don't think I could eat it for more than 2 days only because it is the same.
By the way the dining room is a big tent where each group / family is being seated next to a table and seat on pillows just like in a bedouin style.
The lodging offer toilets with running water, showers with 24/7 hot water heated with gas and great mattress There is an option to take a camel ride which we did and it is about 1 hr. long in the area next to the khan and the kids enjoyed it very much.
I will only add that in our second arrival we stayed with another family of freinds of ours and were able to sleep in a cabin that the opening are covered and almost isolated by big and heavy carpets.
To summsrize, this place put in my mind a very high and good standards for how hosting should be and definitely we'll be visit this place again

This great place is perfect for a nice camping in the desert. There are very good facilities, and very clean - toilets, showers (with hot water!), kitchen. Theres a nice fire in the center, and in the mud houses there are wood stoves to keep you warm at night. Had a lot of fun! would go back there with my kids in May.

I recently moved to northern Israel, and when I made a reservation here, I wasn't totally clear on where it was located. After a long day of navigating Israeli public transportation and having a mean taxi driver, my friend and I arrived very late but they welcomed us weary travelers and helped us get everything we needed. Renting a car is definitely recommended to get to Khan Be'erotayim, but it was SO worth it. The night is so peaceful and the day was relaxing. The food is delicious. The living spaces are super clean. Our guide on the camel ride was very knowledgeable and I really enjoyed his stories about the region. The atmosphere is magical, yet splendidly simple. I just want to thank them all for a wonderful night spent there and I can't wait to visit again.

The two nights stay at Khan Be'erotayim was truly our highlight during our Israel trip 2015. The camp has a special atmosphere where you feel apart from your daily life. It's like diving into a completely different world. Our travel office recomended this place because of its smal and personal size. Indeed, staff and other guests were very open to the public and we feelt like home. The 4 hours camel-trip was the absolutely highlight with a meal made like the Beduins did. Boas, our guide and a friendly woman where our guides. We would love to come back for a longer ride and an over night sleep under the stars. Thanks to all of the friendly staff again.

Went with my three kids aged between 3 and 11. They enjoyed exploring the oasis and the desert around, sitting around the campfire playing card games, resting in the hammock, drinking plenty of tea, riding the camels, and having delicious dinner and breakfast. The sky were clear with little light from the very few surrounding villages, so was able to explain them how to identifies different stars. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The place is very clean.

We were a group of 20 people who were staying together. The place is clean and decorated in the desert breeze. The evening and morning meals are very tasty and are served in a decorated dining room. The bathrooms and showers are clean and polished. The staff is kind and helpful to assist with any request.
