Sandy and her husband have created a special retreat with their Homestead Guest Cabins. Of particular to note is Sandy's attention to detail with well thought out and appointed accommodations. From incredible flower baskets hanging off the front porch to strategically placed notes (and guest book) to answer every question possible. Did I mention the cabin is immaculately clean too!... I spend hours researching lodging/activities for vacations and fortunately this pays off most of the time. In the case of the Homestead Guest Cabins, we found a gem! We were greeted by our gracious hosts immediately. They were friendly, helpful and just lovely people! We stayed in Cabin 3 and were in LOVE with the cabin. It was immaculately clean!... More

I took my grandson up to a hockey camp, and stayed at the Homestead Cabin for 4 nights. I had another grandson that stayed at the cabin with me. The most beautiful spot I have been to in Alaska so far! I have lived here 37 years.

Serene, beautiful amidst the woods. Our host Sandy was amazing. The way they have maintained the cabins are praiseworthy. I wish I had stayed for another day more. She cares about her guests and you can understand by her arrangements.

I was born and raised in Fairbanks and my wife has lived here for 45 years. We have driven the Glenn Highway many times on our way to and from Anchorage, but never stayed at any lodge or cabin site. This time we stayed here in the smallest of three cabins for two nights to attend a wedding at lodge... More

The cabin was clean and well set up for a multiple night stay. There was plenty of room for everyone to have their own space. There were lots of thoughtful details, like books and board games, and a nice fire pit out back. If you are passing through the area it is a great place to stay!

Amazing cabin full of thoughtful amenities! The owner of this cabin put much love into adding amenities to the cabin to ensure that we had literally everything we needed for the stay, from local maps and restaurants to all the utensils and tools needed. Lovely location, and beautiful decorations!

My husband and I visited in the summer of 2015 for a "mini-moon" after we were married in Denali. We stayed in the smallest cabin, and everything was positively delightful! The owners were so kind, and the cabin was very clean. The cabin has a nice kitchen and small seating area in addition to the bedroom and bathroom. The kitchen... More

This is by far the nicest place that my Wife and I have ever stayed in. It didn't feel like staying in a cabin. It felt like you were staying in someone's home. We didn't have the pleasure of staying more than one night, but the night that we stayed there was like paradise. It might not be possible to... More

This is a long overdue review that I am hoping will help those planning their upcoming vacations. We spent two nights in the smallest cabin which is perfect for two. Loved everything about this cabin. It is absolutely spotless, warm, and inviting. The kitchen is fully equipped. There is a grill and firepit outside the cbin. Sandy and Dan are the perfect... More
