We stayed at the hotel as we had a wedding to attend nearby. The staff were very welcoming and the rooms were very comfortable. The staff did their best to get the room ready ASAP in the morning as we needed a place to change before heading off to the wedding. Nothing was too much trouble! The accommodation was quiet... Nestled in the North Somerset hills between Bristol, Bath and Wells the Carpenter's Arms in Stanton Wick combines excellent comfort and a homely atmosphere. Rooms are well appointed (not all with desks) and good aspects. The real plus though is the restaurant food and ambience. Also excellent breakfasts. There is public transport connectivity, but a little walk to the nearest... More

Booked for 4 for lunch the Sunday before Christmas. This is a very efficient pub! Lovely greeting, quick drinks and a leisurely lunch in from a grey day. Choice of Lamb, Beef or Turkey roasts, served at the table by courteous and smiley waiting staff. Traditional pub food done really well. Nothing to fault. Recommended

We stayed here when visiting family in Bristol. It's a perfect location close to both Bristol & Bath. The rooms were very comfortable with powerful showers & wonderful beds. The fresh milk available in the room was a very nice touch. Dinner was excellent with ample portions. The staff were very helpful & knowledgable. I've stayed here before and will... More

Have visited a few times now and service is always friendly polite and quick, the roasts are about the best I've had so will def be visiting again! Would recommend booking on a Sunday as they can get pretty full, guess that just shows they are good though.

This is our second visit this year, and we wouldn't hesitate to stay at The Carpenters Arms again. The rooms are great, there's plenty of parking, and it's only 20 minutes from Bath. The food is excellent, and the bar very cosy in the winter. A firm favourite for us.

My partners and I, after travelling down from Wales, arrived mid lunchtime and were greeted with a warm welcome. I had missed breakfast at our previous hotel so as you can imagine I was quite frankly Bloody Starving!... We missed the lunch time serving but they made us some sandwiches and chips to tide us over until the evening!... Now... More

Hitherto I've resisted staying overnight in a pub...(possibly noisey: smells of stale beer at breakfast the next morning....) but I've changed my mind. The Carpenter's Arms is a traditional English pub with a great atmosphere and with lovely bedrooms, beautifully decorated and maintained. It is quiet. Breakfast is excellent in every way and attentively served. In short, I give this place... More

I stayed in a twin room for one night last August while visiting relatives based in the area. The room was clean and very comfortable - exactly what I needed after my long journey to the UK. I also highly enjoyed the full English breakfast the next morning. My brother had some trouble washing himself however, as he is quite... More

We thought we would try this pub for a nice mid-week meal. We arrived about 8-30pm and very welcomed nicely, I had a nice pint of Sharps Atlantic - good start. My wife ordered prosecco, that didn't turn about too well , it came in a mini-bottle and my wife tried it and instantly said she couldn't drink it. Now... More
