Came here in spring for a mealwhen we were staying in Rothbury. So when we were up in Weldon Bridge and had a disappointing meal we went to find this lovely place again. It was a Monday night and the place was packed but they managed to fit us in. The food and welcome was once again fantastic so we...

Stayed here with my husband for 2 nights, just up the road from pretty Rothbury and not far from Cragside - the first house to have electricity in Britain. Beautiful view out of the bedroom window and the room was clean and very comfortable, with a large bathroom. Deep pile carpet and colour co-ordinated wall and bed linen finished the...

Heading for Scotland we stopped over here for a night. We were made very welcome, travelling with our old Golden Retriever. The bar is pleasant, we ate there with the dog, the dining room looks very nice. Food was excellent. The bedrooms was fine, typical for a pub at this price range. Lovely thick towels in the bathroom. We didn't...

Was lucky enough to be taken here for Sunday lunch recently with my partner. The pub itself is lovely and has some stunning views. I think it would be lovely to sit in the garden and admire the views of the hills with a nice drink. Anyway, back to the review, it is necessary to book for Sunday lunch as...

Meals were nothing fancy but well cooked and homemade. Main criticism is that portions were too large which we found off-putting. Could reduce the size and would still be plenty. Service was excellent: efficient and friendly.

We stayed here 4 nights. Room comfy but bathroom was shabby and in desperate need of an update. We also didn't get a towel change in 4 nights despite putting face towels in shower. The water didn't drain away so it was quite unpleasant. We did mention this and were told that the room was scheduled to have work done...

Visited this place after driving me an hour and needed to stop for food. My word it was perfect, food was home cooked and to perfection. Couldn't recommend this place enough. We will definitely be back. Prices were reasonable too. £23 for drinks and food for 2. Worth every penny.

Quite nice but don't go for the fish and chips, inedible because of the bones. Husband had a nice carvery with freshly cooked veg and 3 choices of gravy. Service was good. Nicely decorated restaurant. Original carpet from when we first went there years ago

We have just had our evening meal in the beer garden for a family of four with our two dogs. The service and quality of food was superb. Very friendly and a super view. We had fillet steak cooked as requested, sea bass, fish and chips and lamb shoulder, we even tried the desserts! Very large portions. The beer garden...
