We have just had our evening meal in the beer garden for a family of four with our two dogs. The service and quality of food was superb. Very friendly and a super view. We had fillet steak cooked as requested, sea bass, fish and chips and lamb shoulder, we even tried the desserts! Very large portions. The beer garden... More

We stayed here for 3 nights to spend a few days walking in the hills. The room was clean and well presented. The bed was comfortable for me, but a bit short for my 6ft3 husband. The breakfasts set us up nicely for our days out walking and the evening meals were excellent - we each had different items from... More

We took our Californian visitor to the Three Wheat Heads for an evening meal. She loved the view towards the Simonside Hills. We were all looked after very well by the friendly staff. We all chose something different from the large menu. We enjoyed our meals and we're happy with the choices on offer. We live locally so we are... More

We had a recommendation to visit and so we turned up at about 7.30PM to find a very busy restaurant, despite this Jean met us with a welcoming smile and found a table for us. The view of the Simonside Hills from the patio doors that run the length of the restaurant was amazing, just like Table Mountain in Capetown!... More

Celebrated my 70th Birthday here as a quiet meal with husband and I was not disappointed. Superb food, I had Barnary Duck and it was cooked to perfection, fish was the dish for my husband and it was so fresh it was almost still swimming. Being rather full after two courses we opted to share a dessert with our choice... More

We had 3 nights in room 3. On the first night, we ate in the restaurant and chose to eat there for the remainder of our stay, enjoying every meal. The portions are very generous and we felt heavier for our stay! The breakfasts were equally good - the Greek yoghurt with fruit was perfect. The staff were very friendly... More

This is a gastro pup in a small village and it's great. The room I had was very nicely appointed and had all the facilities that you would expect but the main reason to stay here is the food. I am vegetarian and normally that means a single choice of meal - not this restaurant I had a choice of... More

Our local art group visited here to paint and lunch last week. Staff were a bit thin on the ground, but we're very cheerful and attentive. Food took a while to arrive but everyone enjoyed their choices and vowed to return. Mine was a baked potato with bacon, chicken and mayo. It was served with a light salad garnish.

On holiday in the area and heard rave reviews! Still not sure if I was given the correct meal of lamb I had ordered but makes no difference, it was Ok but nothing special. I think the portions are big and that's what folks go for. The service was terrible, one poor soul trying to manage on her own, wanted... More
