I’d strongly recommend visiting the Mai Chau Ecolodge towards the end of the rice growing season (October/November), the sights, sounds and smells give this destination a feeling like no other. While you’re there take a bike and cycle through the rice fields and local villages.

As everyone says it is in a beautiful location overlooking the paddy fields and you really do get a sense of what rural Vietnam is really like. We had two beautiful adjoining rooms in their own villa overlooking the paddy fields at the bottom of the beautiful gardens beneath

We spent several days at the Ecolodge which is right in the heart of the Mai Chau valley. All the rooms have amazing views of the surrounding paddy fields and mountains, balconies and an outdoor shower terrace, and yes, there are indoor showers in each room. We were lucky enough

After Hanoi, we went NorthWest and we arrived at My Chau. We stayed at the Ecolodge. A real ecologic hotel in front of the rice fields. With a very nice pool with bar in front of the main buolding. The lodges offer very much privacy with a little garden and outdoor shower : so

The Mai Chau Ecolodge is in an amazing hillside location, set between the mountains and over looking the rice paddies. The hotel itself was lovely but the best part for us was that they supplied bicycles free of charge to guests so we could then bike on the paths, between the

Hi itchy, It is ridiculous make-up story. Mai Chau is a valley and even in Feb, the lowest temp it could get is 16 Celsius degree! FYI, Vietnam is a tropical country. Sometimes, it could be cold in the mountain in January but only very high (2000m above sea level). And if you are British and want to escape... congratulations! You made it! P/s: from a vietnamese local tour guide travelling with British every month...

The rooms next to the rice fields would take less stairs and closer to the bicycle's rental but u'll have to go further up to the restaurant, reception desk &bar. Ask the reception before u arrive and they can arrange what you need ;)

The food at the Ecolodge is very tasty, in my opinion. I cannot tell you how expensive it is as we were there on a half board basis. You can hire bikes to cycle to nearby villages but we stopped for a drink and a snack whilst doing this rather than a "proper" meal. This option is not walking distance either. Hope this helps!

What are the options to get there from Hanoi, we will be staying around Hang Bac Street area, many thanks
Dear Mr.Tish C, From Hanoi, you can get to Mai Chau by Private car or Local bus - Private car: A private car will be arranged at your hotel in Hanoi at anytime. Along the way, breaks can be made sometimes for photos. This is truly the most comfortable and flexible means of transportation to Mai Chau. The price will be proposed up on your requests (from $125). - Local bus You can take a local bus to Mai Chau at “Mỹ Đình bus station" (up to 3 buses a day) or any bus to Northwest provinces at My Dinh or Yen Nghĩa Station and get off at Tong Dau Intersection, then catch motorbike-taxi or taxi to get to Mai Chau center (about 10km). The cost is around 80.000VNĐ/one way (4-6USD per way). We hope it helps, Mai Chau Ecolodge
