This was one of the worst b&b I've ever stayed at, room was very cold , although bedding was clean, breakfast consisted of one small tough sausage bacon fried egg beans and one slice of toast on top. No cerial and when I asked for more toast with marmalade I was told we don't that. We booked two double rooms... More

Friendly staff, good bar food in the evening and reasonable cooked breakfast. Plenty of car parking space. Rooms basic but clean, just let down by very worn out mattress on the bed that badly needs to be replaced.

Stayed for one night, the bar has a welcoming, friendly and unpretentious atmosphere. The food was excellent and the steak pie was perfectly done. I'd return for the food and drink, not the room though. It was really not comfortable by any basic standards. It's a shame because the surrounding area is exceptionally pretty and there isn't much choice of... More

I had one of the best nights sleep that I've had in a long time. All the staff were friendly and chatty and genuinely interested in my needs. The room was clean, warm and the bed very comfortable. The en-suite shower room was a reasonable size and adequate for my needs. Overall it's good honest country inn, conveniently placed for... More

I went for lunch with my friend and her daughter. I have to say the food has gone down hill and is not what it used to be. The sandwich was made with what looked like cheap white bread. It was bland and not worth what i paid for it. Bar staff were friendly enough and have no complaints there.... More

Excellent service, polite, made you very welcome, food excellent, good size meals, dog was made very welcome too. I had the mixed grill, they thought I would not eat it all, but I did, it was delicious, well worth a visit, we will return.

It's not just the people who make this pub, although there's always someone to chat to, but the chili and steak dishes are both superb. My room has always been clean on my arrival and the shower is nice and hot. The beer, Abbot, is always perfect and over the Christmas period a winter ale was astounding. I thoroughly recommended... For that price quite good. Clean rooms nice breakfast. Very nice surrounding. Nice garden. Not far away from the train station. Probably rooms need to be updated but for this price it is enough.......

I stayed here for 1 night Nov 2014 and was so dissatisfied I emailed the owners afterwards with photos. I got a reply saying they would look into my complaints and get back to me and I am still waiting 2 months later. This isn't good enough as I had justification to complain and it's not as if I was... The rooms are very shabby and in need of updating, the place has potential but needs some money spending on it. The food was poor our steaks were over cooked. Breakfast is basic bacon sausage and egg with no choice of brown or white toast or cereal to begin with and no fruit juice and they are not flexible on... More
