NUMBER OF ROOMS
Cheap, but worth finding another place! Not very welcoming, heating wasn’t working so only an electric heater, mould in the shower etc. Really should have read the other reviews first. Definitely not booking again.
The lady on the reception wasn't particularly welcoming, "did you actually tell me you were checking in early?", which I had, twice... She was fairly cold, blunt and looked as though she didn't want to be there. The place looked incredibly tired and run down. The room was absolutely freezing, luckily there was a heater in the room which helped a tiny bit but not much. The bath was dirty, the shower curtain was patchy, the bed runner and pillows didn't seem too clean. Paid £56 and I certainly won't be doing so again.
Where should I start with this hotel! Legitimately the worst hotel I’ve ever stopped in and I stop on a lot of hotels for work. First of all I got in my room and it felt like stepped off a plane into Antarctica the room was freezing. There was no radiators just a small heater that barely worked. I had to sleep in a full tracksuit just to stay warm. Secondly the bathroom, it was dirty. There was a half an hour wait to finally get some hot water out of the tap. The shower was horrendous too, water just trickled out. The room itself was like it was out of a 1970’s film where someone goes to a bad motel. The carpets looked like Jesus had been around when they first got laid. All the windows had mould round them so it was clear they had a damp problem (probably to do with not having radiators). All in all it was a horrible stay, we had booked in for 3 nights but couldn’t stay another after the first night. I wouldn’t let my worst enemy stop here it’s that bad. Only plus side was the WiFi but I’d rather have no WiFi and a decent room. Very disappointed!…
Booked a room for an overnight stay as I attended an event about 2 miles away. On arrival I was shocked to learn that the hotel was locked up! Eventually I got in and my booking was not on the system which gave me cause for concern. Eventually I was booked in by the friendly receptionist and went to my room. The room was dark and dinjy even with the lights on! It also smelt of sweaty socks but it was clean and the bathroom was adequate, but don’t expect soap or other comfort items apart from towels...no flannels. In the morning, I went for breakfast only to find a dirty kitchen and it’s self service i.e. make your own breakfast ! The frying pans were old and sub-standard so eggs stuck to it, but there was juice and bread in the fridge. Tables were dirty too! Good concept as in that it is self service, but facilities were terrible. Wouldn’t use this place again.…
My stay was awful. I paid £47, so didn’t expect much but I stay in hotels every week and always pay less than £60, never have I stayed in such a horrible, dirty room. The carpets were worn through, there was mould in the shower, on the bathroom ceiling and the electrical PAT tests on the hairdryer and kettle were more than a year out of date. Not only that but upon arriving at the hotel, they couldn’t find my reservation and initially checked me into a room which hadn’t been made up (wet towels on the beds, unclean bathroom). As I said, for £47 I wouldn’t expect a lot but a clean and basic room, this was far from that. I would have been better sleeping in the car.
