We stayed on the campsite while staying at sunset beach lodge. We were practically the only guests and experienced a great service. The campsites are very nice and every single one has it’s own ablution block. You can also use all the facilities of the lodge and have a relaxing afternoon near the pool or a drink on the beautiful terrace. Perfect place to stay and also as a stopover between Maputo and Tofo/Vilanculos!

By Mozambique standards - this is a good quality value for money establishment. The property is showing a little neglect but still very livable. The cottage was adequate but the "kitchen" area was not great if you are self catering. For the braai masters it is adequate. As an area renowned for good seafood, I was very disappointed by my Calamari and prawns - both of which were cooked beyond rescue. The light meals are excellently prepared and served. Service is a bit slow - but that is a standard in Moz. The lodge is high above the beach and it is a steep descent / ascent. While swimming is possible, the reefs make it a little difficult. If you are keen on swimming and snorkeling you need to head north on the beach for +/- 15 kms to Kings Pools. You need a 4 X 4 and a permit to drive on the beach. (Permits can be obtained from the Elegacao Maritima which is about 2 km's from the lodge). Kings Pools are only accessible at low tide . Be warned to move out before the tide rises otherwise you could be trapped for a few hours. If you want action - avoid the lodge - It is an ideal place to reconnect and find peace and tranquility

Avoid this property at all costs. When I voiced my concerns to Debbie in the operations & marketing, I was hung up on. When I tried to contact the GM no one responded. What a shame, people make or break a property

Beautiful simple chalet with everything you need. Great views and a virtually untouched beach that you can walk on for miles. Good food and very pleasant and helpful staff. Easy place to reach in a day if you come through Giriyondo border

The lodge location is remote, far from everything, on the sand hill, below which there is a beach and the ocean. The territory is very beautiful, gorgeous. There is a swimming pool and a nice restaurant (not all was available what was in the menu, but it was delicious in any case). No wifi in the lodge. There is a campsite in the lodge territory, I stayed in a cottage, a self catering accommodation with a fridge, a kitchenette, a fan, a tea kettle in it but in general the cottage was sad inside and outside. But the view around is fantastic.
