Staying at Lamai Homestay Guesthouse was a highlight of our trip to Thailand. Jimmy, Lamai and their children made us feel welcome and showed us many aspects of local village life. My daughter (age 11) and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

We stayed for 3 nights in December, with our itinerary basically being the one listed on the website as the "Rural Life Tour". Due to a fluke of planning, our last morning there happened to be Christmas Day, which added a bit of extra fun, and is usually not possible as the family normally goes away at this time. It...

Heart felt thanks from Lamai & myself & the girls.you put a great deal of thought and consideration into writing one of the best reviews any host could ever wish for.Our intention for these past 18 years has been to show the reality, generosity & authenticity of the real rural Thailand. We are a family of 6. Our host met us as arranged at the airport spot on time.We drove very safely through amazing alternating countryside in his luxury 8 seater s.u.v. (a point to note Jimmy and i had just 3 cigarettes each at rest stops on route 5 hrs.) At the homestay we were met by by many small...

My family has traveled all around the world and this was by far the worst homestay experience we have ever had. We were hoping to make friends, learn about a new culture, feel welcome and be treated kindly. We were met at the airport by a chain-smoking 60-year old Jimmie, who drove like he had a death wish the entire...

Quite amusing ! if not for being a libelous review.full of lies and fabrication.Understandable as it came from the first mother & family ever in our 18 yrs unblemished service to be ordered to vacate the property.we felt the lack of supervision by this parent not only put her own children at risk, more importantly it placed our little Ami...

A couple months ago myself and two friends stayed with Jimmy and Lamai for a few nights in order to learn about silk weaving. The family was incredibly welcoming, the food was delicious, and the room was comfortable. The silk weaving was a highlight of a long trip throughout SE Asia. We weren't sure what to expect, especially because we...

Jimmy and Lamai are gracious hosts. Their beautiful children reflect their parents' love if people and their heritage. I was honored to share in the lives of the community, from the school children to the artisans who worked with the silk. Thank you for a memorable and heartwarming experience! Theresa. USA

Lamai Homestay is all about introducing visitors to authentic Thailand. Bua Yai is not an area of Thailand that is traditionally visited by tourists. Instead of crowded beaches package tours, or cities, it provides an insite into the Thai people and customs. The children loved hunting and eating giant spiders, watching villagers make silk (and having a go themselves), releasing...
