We recently went on our family vacation to Liamo Reef Resort as we can't go back to Australia for our annual vacation. We looked into places to go in PNG that would have somthing for all the family, We came across Liamo reef resort there was fishing for me to catch the infamous black bass, kids play ground for our son of 3 years old and the beach for my wife and family to enjoy the sunset. Right from when we first walked in the resort we were gretted by the best security gards i have come across in png. We checked in and was greeted by the director of operation's (sugoo) about my 2 day fishing package, the only way i can explain how good he looked after us as a family but we felt like king's any thing we needed or requested he organised for us with no issues, we had no juice for our son and asked if there was any shops close by we could walk to get some supplies and his reply was we will take you in the company bus, any where we wanted to go they took us there with no issues. My 2 days of fishing was fantastic, day one the skipper was Jacob and deckhand was Angie they where fantastic guys did everything they could to get me the fish i came for the black bass but it wasn't to be as the water was verry muddy, i said to Jacob and Angie we cant go back without catching some fish so we turned to blue water fishing in the afternoon we end up going back to the resort with 2 GT and one blue tail Trivially. That night i said to my wife i dont think i will catch a black bass as the water was verry dirty she replied think positive. Day two i had a different skipper Christopher and Angie was the deckhand from the day before i gretted them in the morning and said to chris i know the water is very dirty for black bass right now and will be very unlikely we will get it today, he turned and looked at me and said with confidence dont worry we will get you a black bass, i turned to Angie and said you reckon we will get it and he said if chris said we will catch one then we will catch one. We spent all morning fishing for the black bass with only a cod, trivally and a yellow fin tuna we court in the morning on the trawl, 11am we pulled up in the boat under some shade for some lunch, after lunch we searched the river for two more hours throwing lures, trawling with no luck, 2:30pm come around the sun was realy beeting down on us Chris said we will pull up and cool off for a while 3pm we will head off again the sun is high in the sky and the fish will come on the bite after 3pm, we sat under the tree for 30 minutes then off we went again about five minutes after setting off again Bang we were on to a black bass chris called out black bass as it took off into the reeds Chris grabbed the net as i fought the fish out of the reeds into the net Chris pulled it into the boat, at that moment we all cheering with excitement shaking each other's hand i said job done Chris i was starting to doubt we would catch it but we did you come trough a 30 pound black bass i got pictures with the boys and fished for 1 more hour catching a small GT before heading back to the resort. That night the chefs at the resort cooked up the fish i had court ln a variations of different ways they did a fantastic job with the fish and infact the whole time we were there i can't folt the food (well done chefs) The next day we had a family day with half day snorkelling with Angie,we met Sugoo and the GM i forget her name but was a wonderful lady she give us her son's life jacket to use while with Angie out on a small reef just in front of the resort we all enjoyed the reef until the current started to come in, i said to Angie are we able to go to walindi plantation resort to have a look, he said he will have to check with the boss before we can go over, we got the ok from the boss and off we went On the way over a pod of dolphins emerged around the boat rising for us to see, we had a fantastic day with Angie a grate guy. The next three days we spent around the resort relaxing and enjoying the freedom in the resort. The house keeper who cleaned our bungalow looked after us very well, we went out one day and left our dirty washing in a bag in the bathroom to take home and clean, we come back to all our washing been cleaned and folded. The floor staff looked after our son every time he would get upset with having to sit in the high chair they would pick him up and take him for a walk for us to relax to enjoy our dinner. On our last day the general manager farewelled us off as we didn't want to leave all i can say we felt like king's staying here and would highly recommend for anyone to stay at Liamo Reef Resort for business or leisure in Kimbe West New Britain, we will definitely be back again.

Beautiful hotel, some aspects of the hotel need some upgrading. The food at the restaurant is really good. Great hotel for leisure with a great bar. Recommended for family and friends who are looking for a great holiday accommodation when in Kimbe. Also for the staff can be further trained in capacity building in hospitality just to freshen up on the their skills.

This is a small resort hotel in the town of Kimbe. Not a destination but a nice place to stay while here. Tropical and friendly describes the hotel. Food is good in the restaurant bur be careful of water, ice and salads. Staff is very helpful and accommodating. Good a/c. Two small pools. Fence along the ocean to ? keep out the locals.

This was my first time at Liamo on a solo leisure trip in 2019. Ms. Diana Philemon met with me upon my arrival, to confirm my attendance on the Klin Wara tour. I had been liaising with her and Ms. Miriam Whippy via email from Port Moresby in the weeks leading up to my arrival in Kimbe. I later met with the most excellent host, Ms. Miriam Whippy who accompanied me on the Klin Wara tour. The Klin Wara tour consists of a prepared picnic alongside a water hole connected to a stream in the forest. I had lunch with Ms. Miriam Whippy upon my return. Restaurant and bar service was fast. I loved their gift shop from which I purchased nice souvenirs. The Reception ladies were helpful and pleasant and I did notice that Housekeeping takes their cleaning responsibilities very seriously –the floors were immaculately clean and the lawns and sand on the beach front of the resort were spotless. Even nearly one year later, I hold a very good impression of the service, assistance, and customer service with care extended to me. Thank you to Ms. Miriam Whippy and your team for making my activity and dining experience a memorable one! Cheers!
