I've been keeping this place a secret it's so good. And because of that it's always busy. However, the food is exceptional and service is excellent. Proper country English pub with a great atmosphere.

went after a recommendation and although the food was lovely it could have been better - the bar is small but the service was painfully slow at times with 1 person serving ( food orders and drinks ) which on a busy sunday lunchtime should be slicker - there was an advised 45 minute wait for food which wasn't a... My friends and I were staying a stone throw from this pub - but returned two consecutive nights due to fantastic food, quality and great serice! We were spoilt for choice on the menu and not one dish was disappointing - there ia a beautiful beer garden at the back which is great for summer evenings.

During our recent annual pilgrimage to the New Forest, we once again sought out The New Forest Inn and were not disappointed. Excellent food, served hot, a varied menu, reasonable prices, attentive service and pleasant surroundings. Fortunately, this is not one of those pubs that charge extortionate prices because they put the small portions on large plates topped with pea... More

This was our second visit to stay in the pub. This time we stayed in room 3 (last time room 2). Room 3 was the better room, it was a double with lots of room, a comfortable bed. Choice of tea and coffee in the room. The room was clean and tidy. Great views to the front of the pub... More

The food at the New Forest Inn was very good tow of us had the Sausages and Mash with Onion Gravy, which was served with vegetables and the other two in our party had Ham Egg and Chips which came with salad. The portions were a good size and the quality was also very good, the plates and food were... More

My husband and I stopped for lunch here - never been before - and we were delighted with the quality of the food, the friendliness of the staff and the quaintness of the pub. The food was plentiful and locally sourced and the menu was varied. There were lots of special evenings advertised to suit a variety of ages -... More

I visit with my family every time I'm in the need forest, almost always on Sunday! The good has never failed to impress. We are generally a table of your and above and the food is always scrummy! The pub is dog friendly and even offers a doggy menu. The decor is lovely and homely and the staff are always... More

We were in the New Forest for a few days and stopped off for a drink here at lunch time. We were impressed with the friendliness of the pub so decided to book for dinner that night. We were not disappointed. The food and service was excellent. The honeycombe dessert was to die for but be warned it is extremely... More

Welcoming pub with quite an extensive menu. This pub serves home made food cooked to order, so it ain't fast but it is good. Most people would be spoiled for choice, vegetarians included, from what's on offer on their regular and specials menus. This was our last meal in the New Forest before returning home and it really set us... More
