Disappointed with accommodation and the service bit hit and miss. Very limited indoor 'lounge' space to relax in. Plenty of outdoor space provided for seating when weather allows. Room service not the best and not always done when requested.

We had such a gorgeous stay at The White Buck. My husband and I stayed in a cosy room which had so much space. Beautiful touches they included and the room was so clean. The breakfast was so tasty, there were some great options. We couldn’t fault the service, everyone was so friendly and attentive.

We had a lovely one night dinner bed and breakfast stay. The indulgence bedroom was really lovely, there were a few things needing attention E.g the dusty headboard and shower control but the bed was so comfy and the bath lovely. The chocolate treats and coffee very nice.  We might have been disappointed if we’d been in hot weather as our room had a view over tatty buildings at the back of the hotel and a broken chair but there were wooden blinds in place that meant this wasn’t noticeable unless you wanted the window open!  The dinner was excellent and breakfast delicious with a great choice.  The hotel itself is very lovely and the staff all very friendly and helpful.  We would come again definitely!

We had an excellent 2 nights with our dog. The room was very clean and spacious. There where doggy treats, towel , shampoo and poo bags for our dog Harley. The bath was a stand alone bath which was great. A fantastic shower, bath robes and slippers. Tea, coffee and free glasses to take away with you as a gift. The bed was massive and a large bay window. Cosy gun room to sit and have a drink next to the bar. An excellent stay.

A warm welcome on arrival, wonderful room with many treats. Home from home feeling in the bar area after dinner. The staff are the heart of a business, and Woody, Hannah & Katherine, to name a few, were happy to go the extra mile for the customers 😊

This used to be our favourite pub roast but no longer. They used to do lovely cauliflower cheese and red cabbage now you get the a floret with a bit of sauce on it. The roast potatoes were tiny. The beef was 2 slices which was inedible, over cooked, should be served pink and incredibly chewy.

Visited for dinner and picked this place at random to meet friends half way. Really pleased we did so! The staff were great and the food was lovely. The whole building inside and out is beautiful and only a short walk to the forest for beautiful walks and scenery.

We Had an amazing 24 hours here, the building looks and feels lovely, with the old country style and view. Surrounded by the gorgeous new forest and in the lovely witchy village of Burley. The staff are all friendly and so polite. Julie at breakfast was a dream, so happy and kind. She was always pottering about making sure everyone was dealt with and everything was clean and tidy. Lolita at the evening meal was very kind, polite and nothing was too little or too much to do. On to the food, this was amazing and fantastic, so much flavour and great presentation. I had the pan fried scallops and game faggots.... WOW... TOTALLY RECOMMEND. The wife had the haddock, the chips, mint peas were perfect and the batter on the haddock was very light fluffy and non greasy. For breakfast we had a selection of hot and cold food, the granola is out of this world with the coconut yoghurt, the chefs make it on site, so no finding out the recipe lol.

Nice restaurant, pretty. Staff were friendly and efficient. Food was: one dish (ox cheek ragout and pappardelle) excellent, one dish (gnocchi) was ok. Often the way with vegetarian food. But the toilets were mixed sex which I don’t like for several reasons and I find restaurants that do this tedious in the extreme.
