Guest house Magnolia, located above Viseu de Sus, offers a rural idyll with all comforts. All rooms are furnished modernly with furniture from our family's carpentry shop and have a minibar and TV. The bathrooms are equipped with shower, toilet and hairdryer. The surrounding area offers peace and quiet as well as fresh air and a superb panoramic view of the city of Viseu de Sus and the environment. Magnolia House was opened in spring 2009. Most attractions of the city Viseu de Sus are located within a short 10-15 minutes by car or 20-30 minutes by foot along a beautiful path. In the outer court there is a leisure area which includes: playground for children, arbor, green spaces where you can practice different sports. The unique architecture of the building, the magnificent environment, as well as human warmth of the hosts are only a few of the reasons why our guests return to Magnolia.

The experience with Magnolia was disappointing for us, although we traveled a very long way to get there, from Bucharest, and we had high expectations. Unfortunately, at an extremely high price, about 350 eur / night (Easter period), I never felt that it was worth it. Apart from a very nice and benevolent lady who took care of us during our stay, we did not feel that we were living any special experience. Breakfast with sausages bought from the supermarket, "natural juice" was actually Santal, bread from the store, cakes from the supermarket, nothing authentic as we expected and as we experienced in other picturesque areas of the country (eg Cinscsor, Viscri). The Easter meal was a total fiasco, the traditional “drob” doesn't even look good, I don't even mention the taste, and some cut meats also bought from supermarket. There is no restaurant in the pension, so no menu or options, you have to comply with the menu set for that day. When I arrived on the first day, after a long and tiring journey, I did not find in the room even a bottle of water or some fruits, only an empty refrigerator. Probably the owner should study a little what hospitality means and what should he offer for such a high cost of services. Also, in the courtyard of the pension and next to it there are two construction sites where various are being built, so the initial landscape is absolutely disappointing, with garbage, construction materials and piles of earth. During our stay nothing special was organized for Easter, for example an egg hunt for children, or a visit to a craftsman from the village, any activity whatsoever. We didn’t meet our host and didn’t feel the interest of the hosts in making us a beautiful holiday and to instill in us their love for their origins and their village. Basically I paid over 1000 euros for an accommodation in a nice house, with mediocre food and that's it. I could do this anywhere near Bucharest, at half price, but I had other expectations for Maramures.

The accomodation was a pleasant surprise, very clean, warm and unusual big room. We shall come back for sure... We totally recommend it!!!

This was one of the best places we ever stayed in Romania, by far. The road is bad, but not impossible and it is worth it, when you get there. We stayed in one of the chalets, with our 2 year old and our small dog. Sparkling clean, great food, wonderful people. The courtyard is huge, perfect for making snowmen and going sledding. We had a wonderful time and can't wait to return in the spring or summer.

We had a great time during our stay. Access was a bit sketchy at first due to some construction taking place nearby, but it was mostly sorted out by the time we had to leave. We did not plan on eating in initially, but after the first couple of days we were so satisfied that we ended up only eating at the property. Large portions, good amount of choice for breakfast, all fresh and delicious. The rooms were very good: good size and clean. Our host was perfect. Very hospitable and warm. The location, the views, the overall feel of the resort is just perfect for a quiet get away to decompress, slow down time, and leave all the stress behind.
