Helpful staff but very basic food when we called in. We were the only guests there so probably busier in the winter. Still a beautiful place and pleased we visited. Lovely buildings and fantastic location

The hotel offers nicely decorated rooms, fantastic meals and a nice spa. The staff is really nice and friendly. The location is great with a view of lake and mountains. There are plenty of hiking possibilities in the near surroundings. The duvets were unfortunately way too warm for normal room temperature. I had expected other options for hot drinks in the lunch pack, than coffee or hot water (e.g. blueberry soup or ready-made hot chocolate). Our lunch pack resulted in unexpectedly much garbage (single packs) which definitely could be improved.

This is a beautiful place with high ambitions. It is one of my best winter vacations ever! It feels like you are Guest at someone’s winter retreat. Simple clean convenient and newly renovated rooms. Large breakfast buffet where you make your picnic lunch. Wonderful spa with small outdoor hot tub and sauna. Dinner is a three course gastronomic adventure. Five minutes drive to downhill skiing, cross country skiing in alpine environment just around the corner. Highly recommend a tour with Fjällnäs explore that will take you to peaks and wonderful views. Will definitely come back soon!

This is a fine place as many have mentioned here. Fjallnas Hotel is part of the culture of many Swedes and the return visits of families who came here in previous days with their parents is testament to that. So why do these people (most coming from Stockholm some 586 km removed) to this remote spot. Well, I guess because of its pure beauty, the serene scenery and the breathtaking view. Located at the lake and just at the bottom of a steep slope to the ‘highland’ it fits with the idea of perfection. The package does not come cheap though, and it sets you back at least 300 E per couple per night. Is it worth it (given that the view is free) So let’s tick of some boxes. You will get full board with well stocked breakfast , free bags to prepare your lunch on the go and a three course diner in the evening. These diners were very well prepared, I have to say. You have to choose your wine from the wine list with good choices from all around the world from 40 E (per bottle) to over 400 E. Wifi works well. You can rent your ski gear from the hotel (please announce beforehand so they fetch it for you, 100E/5 days). The room we had was kinda basic, the shower varied in temperature despite that they were outfitted with thermostates. The rooms are in wooden houses, and yes sometimes you can hear the neighbor in the adjacent room. The servicing staff is highly variable in quality. Most are very professional , but some do not seem ‘in to it’. The library in the main building is an asset, great place to sit, read or work (beautiful view over the lake). A great plus is the sauna and hot tub and a free jump in the ice cold lake if you dare. We came to Fjallnas through Roros and the final stretch with taxi (60 minutes 160 E each way…).

This Hotell has everything! Great food, a wonderful atmosphere, polite employees, nice rooms, a spa which is intimate and private at the same time, and everything is made in pact with the nature. The owners have really succeeded in making this place special. When you book the room and breakfast/dinner package, you need to pay extra for the wine package but then the wine is always pared with what you eat. Anyhow is this place balm for the Soul. Enjoy!
