This was a amazing place to stay. We awoke every day in a beautiful place with great weather. Traveling with young children and a large would be a challenge for most places but Cocovivo was up to the challenge. With the oldest in our group of 19 being in there 60's and the youngest being 2, this was a tall order and they exceeded expectations. The staff assiated in booking tours that were specific to our interest, along with getting all 19 of us across to other islands. The food was above and beyond our expectations. Hooray for the chefs!! The dogs would walk us to our cabins at night. Which was really cool when you have children. Honestly I could write pages on our experience here. If clear water with reefs and beautiful jungle are your thing, and if its not it should be. Check it out, you won't be disappointed. The staff will make you feel like family!!

This is one of the best travel experiences I've ever had. If you're willing to do a few days of "roughing" it (i.e. cold shower, walking to the toilet, bugs), you absolutely 100% must stay here. Drop dead gorgeous views, tons of fun activities to do, a great way to meet people from around the world, and genuinely excellent food.

A truly wonderful and unique location. The staff made us feel as we were staying with old time friends. The coral is amazing, expect to spend hours snorkeling swimming and paddling in calm and transparent water. Big thumbs up to the owners and staff for the land restoration. You are truly imersed in nature.

We truly enjoyed our stay at cocovivo; believe all the glowing reviews!! The place is absolutely beautiful and there are so many activities to enjoy at the property. From snorkeling at the beautiful coral reef, to paddle boarding, kayaking, and walking through the jungle looking for sloths, there is no shortage of activities to keep you entertained; we saw starfish, tons of beautiful fish, sloths and even got to see dolphins swimming near the property. The owners are really nice and helpful, always very responsive to any questions you may have. Stacey and Hunter, our hosts and chefs, were incredibly nice and helpful, and really fun to hang out with. All the meals were delicious, and they will customize for any dietary needs. And last but definitely not least, El Capitan and Mizu, the 2 resident doggies were wonderful and so much fun to hang around. El Capitan loves to go kayaking and paddle boarding with you, and they just made our stay so much more special. We also got to experience a little of the bioluminescent water at night. All in all, it is a very special place. If you want to enjoy nature at its best, in a secluded stunning setting, with wonderful hosts, look no further. Thank you Stacey and Hunter for making our stay at Cocovivo a memorable one!!

All of the glowing reviews are 100% accurate. Two parts to this review 1) the property and 2) the hosts: 1) The property - This huge property is incredible. The communal dock area which has the kitchen, upper level lounge area, communal tables, bar, and a second level diving board. This is the place to hang out and connect with the other guests and/or the hosts. The swimming off of this dock is great fun and provide perfect access to the coral reef. Snorkel gear is provided. Access to kayaks and the paddle board is also provided. We stayed in the Mangrove Tree House, which was excellent. The dock over the water attached to this room is semi-private from other guests, so sunbathing sans clothing is possible for those wishing to get rid themselves of tan-lines. The sloth trail through the jungle is great fun for checking out the island's flora and fauna. All of the trails to the room have stepping stones to keep your feet dry. Bring with you a headlamp to use when it is dark. The coral reef is teeming with life and great fun to explore. Swimming in the bioluminescence at night is like an experience from another planet. 2) The hosts. Melisa and Luciano personally picked us up from another property in Bocas and brought us to Cocovivo. They are incredibly friendly and equally as helpful. Every question or request is welcomed with a smile and handled with care. They are extremely helpful when planning activities around Bocas and provide excellent suggestions. Luciano is a true chef and takes great care in preparing meals for guests. The portion sizes are large and the food is delicious. His lasagna is one of the best, if not the best, I have ever had. All of the food was on-point. They kept the beer cooler fully stocked for me, which made me very happy. I was delighted when Luciano fired up the new wood fire pizza for lunch one day. Probably the best pizza in Bocas will be found at Cocovivo. Even the local family that lives on the property is very friendly and helpful. Always quick with a greeting and a smile. Leo is the boat driver and works on various projects maintaining the property. Cocovivo is easily the most unique property I have visited. We loved our stay here and cannot wait to start panning our return trip. LOVED LOVED LOVED this place.

This. Is. The. Place. We visited on our honeymoon in June 2021 and were absolutely floored by Melisa’s and Luciano’s hospitality and environment at CocoVivo. After 11 days in Panama, my wife and I still talk about how unique and utterly incredible our 3 days were at CocoVivo. Some highlights: 1. An atmosphere of no worries. From meals, to drinks, to activities, you can do them all on the CocoVivo premises. Melisa cooked our meals when we requested based on arrival, departure, or simply our mood for the day. The food was refreshing and hearty, two characteristics you wouldn’t expect from an off-the-grid eco lodge hovering 20 yards out on the open water! 2. The simply divine accommodations. These treehouses/huts/rooms is the most unique place we have ever stayed in. Don’t expect air conditioning and bathrobes, but be prepared for sloths to great you in the morning and you walking around all the time saying “is this place real?” 3. A deep respect to not only be hospitable to humans but to the planet. CocoVivo prides itself in its green infrastructure and they surely succeed. From rain catchers for your water, to ensuring guests put in reef-friendly sunscreen, we could tell they care deeply about the world around them. CocoVivo will always be a special place in our hearts and we cannot wait to visit everyone (especially the pups) again.

This place is unlike any other. From the sloths, monkeys, nature hikes through the jungle, snorkeling in one of the most coral reefs right in front of your cabin, to the most friendly hosts I’ve ever had the pleasure of staying with. El Capitan made the stay that much more enjoyable reminding me of my beloved dog back home! If you are even considering this place go ahead and book it it’s an experience of a lifetime!

There is a main cabin in the water were you go to hang out and eat meals, which is really nice for socialising with staff/owners and other guests. Delicious food cooked by Argentinian couple using only local ingredients. We stayed in a fabulous two story cabin with a cool bed the hung from the ceiling. Amazing snorkelling off the main dock and jungle off the back doorstep. We had a lovely afternoon exploring the area by paddle board and kayak.
