Busuanga Bay Lodge, Palawan Resort is part of the integrated resort enclave in Busuanga, Coron, Palawan called Puerto del Sol. We are located in the southwestern part of Busuanga Island, in northern Palawan. You can easily escape from the pressures of city living by a 45-minute flight from key hubs like Manila, Cebu, and Davao - or by an even shorter flight from the provincial capital of Puerto Princesa. Busuanga is rich in biodiversity, and so the resort was envisioned to promote and support such a beautiful natural community. The Bermuda-inspired architecture and the name of our boutique getaway are from the developer's desire to initially create a fishing retreat. However, this activity is only one of many that Busuanga has to offer. Renewable energy and sustainable design are among the key thrusts in the development. Indeed, we have created an oasis in this semi-remote part of Busuanga Island in Palawan by ensuring that guests can enjoy all the modern conveniences onsite as well as have the easiest access to luxury adventures in the area's on-land and underwater attractions. Inside the resort, guests will be pampered with luxurious Spa Services and offered an extensive wine selection from the in-house Wine Cellar.

We stayed here for 3nights in a waterfront king room and throughly enjoyed our stay.

I booked direct and just worth noting they sometimes require a chaser email. I had to chase up and resend the booking form to get our reservation made and chase to get confirmation our airport transfers were arranged. Everything was fine upon arrival at the airport and check in was efficient.  My Husband especially liked the personal guitar players singing a song as you arrive and the complimentary soft drink.

Room:
Our room was right on the water, the bed was super comfortable with luxurious bedlinen, entire room was extremely clean too. Shower worked really well and aircon was excellent.  The nightly delivery of a sweet treat around 6pm was a nice touch too.

Restaurants/bars:
Seahorse grill was great for happy hour, beers and cocktails were buy1 get 1 free.  We ate dinner in the restaurant in the main area of the resort which overlooks the beautiful infinity pool. Cost of a beer was approx  PHP 110 with wines by the glass around PHP 375.  We found food and drink to be reasonably priced considering there are no options within walking distance.  Quality of food was great and attentive service from all the staff.  We also really enjoyed the ambience created by the trio of guitar players during dinner, they were excellent and some nights they even take requests!

Breakfast was a la carte which was a welcome change from all the buffets we'd been having!  You have a choice of approx 5 different types of cooked breakfasts, american breakfast, eggs benedict etc, get a plate of fruit to share to start and can also have cereal too if you wish.  Tea and coffee are also included, I'm a complete tea pot so we always had 2 lots.  Any juices, granola, youghurt etc are charged as extras but we found the breakfasts to be good and filling and didn't feel the need to order anything beyond what was included.

Facilities:
We didn't do any diving or use the free kayaks or paddle boards, we found relaxing by the beautiful infinity pool too enticing!  What I loved is there was only 6 other people around the pool so it felt very quiet and relaxing.

This resort is definitely one for chilling out even the bar at sunset / happy hour isn't very busy, don't expect a lively bar scene!!  The restaurant's weren't busy so not sure where everyone was.  BBL is the type of place you come to either go diving or just chill out. My husband & I don't typically like being in remote places but our 3 nights here were perfect.

Note the resort is spread across a steep hillface with lots of steps but there are golf buggies you can call to ferry you to/from your room.

If we ever visit the Philippines again we would definitely come to BBL.

High-end 5-star resort with prices to match, great service and polished staff. Stayed in a jungle room so the view was partially obscured by trees but was still nice, plenty of bugs around, but no major problems. Cable tv stopped working on our last night but was informed satellite was out for whole resort. Tv had plenty of movies available on local USB, great to see they are prepared for this occasion. Fresh coffee provided in room was a nice touch.

Was informed upon arrival the waterfront Seahorse bar/ restaurant was closed due to 'urgent maintenance' leaving only the main pool bar/restaurant available which was disappointing only having 1 option available. We were further disappointed when a staff member mentioned they often close the Seahorse bar when the hotel is less than 50% occupied. I sincerely hope the urgent maintenance is actually required (never witnessed any maintenance work being undertaken) and not a 5* resort trying to save some $ as the hotel seemed easily over 50% occupied with families with children running around the restaurant another option would have been appreciated.

Some water sports included (we used the paddle boards) but resort also has plenty of tours and scuba on offer)

Gym was weights and a cross trainer, no treadmill

Attended the 'managers cocktails' on our first night, no sign of management but free canapes and free cocktails were fine by us!

BBL operate a local fresh farm and most if not all produce is sourced locally, great fresh ingredients, Recommend the tuna salad!

We had a two-bedroom villa at the hotel overlooking the bay. The rooms, the lounge/kitchen area and bathrooms were exactly as advertised. The clean, well-maintained private pool, just outside the lounge area, could also be accessed from each bedroom. There was every possible amenity and, being down the hill from the reception/restaurant, there was a golf buggy transfer available at any time of day or night. Once we requested transport it arrived within two minutes every time.
We only stayed for 2 nights and were sorry to leave.
Breakfasts were very good, as were other meals, however, if we had stayed longer we might have liked a more extensive menu.
The staff were, without exception, friendly, helpful and cheerful and went out of their way to provide excellent service.
The location of the hotel is perfect; it is secluded, tranquil and offers spectacular views over the bay. We arrived at the hotel following an active week on a yacht and this was the perfect way to relax.

Me and my 5 friends stayed at the resort for 2 nights in January. To start off, the staff at this hotel are amazing. Everyone is there to help you, extremely friendly and the best english I have experienced in the philippines.

Second, the activities are great. I believe their company saying is “where luxury meets adventure” and they certainly aren't wrong. The view straight from the hotel is surreal, especially when at sunset by the infinity pool.

The respect actually owns an island that is only for it’s guests. You can choose to go there whenever, and can get all you can drink and eat (amazing bbq) for a really good
price. There are many activities like paddle boarding, kayaking and snorkeling on the island.

The on site dive shop is also amazing. it’s run by a english guy names Simon and he is the best. Wether you are diving or just looking for something to do, he will be the best help. The diving is great because you get to see some of the coolest shipwrecks, marine life and corals. Also, compared to other places in the world, its not that expensive for the value you get!

lastly, the food! if you have been traveling asia for a while it will be a relief to have western and international cuisine with generous portion sizes. The food taste great (get the tuna nuggets) and they are very accommodating for dietary restrictions.. I am gluten free and they even have GF bread sometimes, plus amazing GF options!

Overall 5 stars and a high five for the amazing service!

The hotel does not live up to the high ratings in the reviews. If you don't rent a car (there are very few rental units in Coron), you are isolated, the center of Coron is 1 hour away. , regardless of the number of guests traveling in the van. There is no internet in the rooms, they offer a modem for about 125.00 pesos a day, which does not work and the internet in the reception and restaurant stops working all the time. Breakfast is a joke. What was included is 1 bread, with 2 eggs and 1 banana, if you want to order something, they charge the part. The restaurant is horrible, everything we ordered was bad, pizza (horrible), sandwiches (dry) and Filipino food (the worst in 3 weeks of travel we tried). We ordered 2 bottles of wine from the menu that they didn't have in stock, the third bottle I saw that it was open and when I tried it, it was vinegary. The hotel tours cost almost 10x the value of the tours sold in the center and they still charge fees to enter the tours separately (and the worst, very overpriced). The physical structure looks like a luxury hotel, but the towels are old, thin and stained, as well as the bed linen. On the penultimate day, when we returned from the center of Coron, the dirt road that leads to the hotel (already inside the hotel property) was flooded and we had to cross it on foot, after 30 minutes the hotel sent a motorbike to pick up 1 person per turn. This hotel was the only bad experience we had out of the 6 hotels we stayed at in the Philippines. Don't believe the reviews!!

I am English 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 and live and work in BGC Manila, with my fhilipino girlfriend.

Heard so much about the beautiful island of Palawan, so I decided to take a trip, I have been blessed with visiting Bora Bora, Malediven Islands and most of the beautiful islands of the Caribbean.
So Palawan visit was a must for me.

Arriving at the Busuanga bay lodge was so special, AJ the Resident Manager, Joaquín the operation manager and the reception staff of Jackie and Cruze gave us a very special welcome 🤗
Big smiles and cold towels with a nice refreshing welcome drink.

The entrance to the reception and swimming pool is breathtaking, the views and local landscape is amazing. I Knew this was a very special place, quiet, next to Mother Nature and beautiful skies.

The staff upgraded us to the premier room for our 9 day stay, and gave us free WIFI and Breakfast, very much appreciated.

The spacious rooms are very warm and inviting, with a very large bathroom area with white crisp towels and toilet amenities.
The room had a very large bed with a great AC unit and a big flat screen TV with lots of movie channels, me and my partner were happy.

All meals are taken near the swimming pool, so watching the sun rise and set daily is a must, so amazing.
Special thanks to the waitresses and bar staff Jenny / nanelyn / hanz / Rene for their wonderful service and beautiful smiles.
Food is prepared in the kitchen and the breakfast we loved, yummy.

The hotel has a spa area so we will be pampered today before our departure.

Coron is 45 minutes away and the reception staff will be pleased to help you with your requests.

Golf buggy takes you to the small private beach which allows you to go canoeing 🛶

There is a PADI Dive centre there too.

We are so impressed with the Busuanga bay lodge we will come back in April.

Will miss the beautiful views and the sound of the birds during sunrise, a very special place with beautiful staff.

After a full week of all-day boat rides, tricycle rides to dinner in Coron town, and van rides throughout the lush countryside, we were ready to cap our stay with a few days of tranquility to soak in the beauty of Busuanga. Hands down, BBL stuns with a view like no other. Every corner of the dining pavilion which spilled into the pool area promised a unique view of the bay from sunrise to sunset. Upon nightfall, when the view disappeared into a black stillness, the pavilion turned intimate, with tables filled with flowers from the grounds, candlelight, and music from a handsome trio. In addition to its views, BBL’s sheer spaciousness contributed to this feeling of luxury and relaxation. Rooms are clean and minimalist, with a wall of glass opening to the bay and all the floor space one needed to spread out. The bathrooms are equally bright and large, with a shower area that felt more like a separate room, and long uninterrupted countertops on both sides of the sink. The biggest luxury of all came from the staff, who spoiled us with their attention, their warmth, and their willingness to grant a special request: live music was reserved for specific occasions, but on our last night, my parents got their wish of being serenaded just one more time. THANK YOU BBL—all of you--from the bottom of our hearts!

Very helpful staff from Booking to Flight requirements (Vacc Certs, SPass, etc) answered all our emails in a couple of hours (Nicha, Marinel). Front desk was able to manage all our requests and changes quickly (Juaquin, Nicha, Tin). Our trips were fun, safe and memorable.. Ninoy was the best guide we had over land and sea!! One of our sons has ASD and we felt safe in his hands over the cave trips and snorkeling.
Staff at dining were attentive and food was good.
PS. Thanks for the quick peek at the BTS rooms, wife is a big fan!!

Stayed at Villa 1 and it was cool and clean everytime we returned tired from our trips..
Hope there would be those retractable clotheslines in the restrooms to hang your wet clothes...

Overall best tropical Island stay and trip we have had over the years!

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Busuanga Bay Lodge. AJ’s team was stellar. Joaquin, Nichal, and Crizelle at reception helped us book our stay, arrange transportation, and customize our tours to our group’s preferences. Ninoy was a knowledgeable and friendly guide and he accompanied us on all our tours. He was incredibly accommodating. The restaurant staff - Dexter, Erika, Jenny, and Nanelyn - were attentive and friendly and the food was amazing. The menu was extensive and everything we tried was delicious. Our compliments to the chef, this was some of the best Filipino and international food we had our entire trip. We especially loved that the restaurant and pool area were situated a few floors above the ground floor, meaning there were far fewer mosquitoes than we noticed at other places in Palawan. Additionally, the view over the bay was out of this world beautiful. During dinner service, the BBL trio performed and provided great dinner music and serenades. Our first night, we requested a song that the trio didn’t know. The following night, they performed the song just for us after practicing for only a day! The rooms were large, clean, and comfortable and the grounds were beautiful and well kept. On our last night, the team provided a special candlelit dinner for us, for which we are very grateful. We were celebrating a retirement and a 30th birthday, which we had only discussed with the staff in passing, and to our surprise the team provided special desserts to commemorate these events. Aldy at the marina assisted us with kayaking equipment and was very helpful. We kayaked across the bay to the abandoned sea plane, which was a cool little trip! Kristelle and Rose at the spa provided excellent services. We booked massage, body scrub, and facial services and all were very good. This resort definitely felt like a luxury experience and we didn’t want to leave! We would absolutely stay here again.

The staff at BBL are all friendly, professional and provide outstanding service to the guests. Our first contact for the booking was Nicha who was very approachable and committed to answering any questions and making sure that our stay was planned exactly to meet our needs. All staff from the reception desk, restaurant and bar, the gardeners, cleaners and drivers have a smile, make you feel welcome and that they are there for you and will go above and beyond to make your stay the best it can be. In the evenings the entertainment provided was high quality and enjoyable. The location and outlook over the bay are breathtaking and you are ideally placed to take advantage of the infinity pool, kayaks and paddleboards provided. The on-site, highly regarded PADI dive shop provides a very convenient opportunity for divers (new and experienced) to explore the many wrecks in the area. Although not a diver myself, all the guests who went diving with Pirate Divers spoke very highly of their experience. I would highly recommend BBL to anyone visiting the area as the premier place to stay.
