Visited here for Sunday lunch. The actual pub is lovely and the staff were all friendly and helpful .We opted for the 3 course meal , the food was nice but nothing special . We were unimpressed with the seating ,as it was far to close together , literally felt like we were part of the table next to us.... More

This old style public house gives you a wrap around warm greeting as soon as you enter ! Completly refurbished to a very high standard..yet still retaining many original features..it's well worth a visit! Staff seem to enjoy their work and nothing is too much trouble. A lot of the customers were friendly locals...surely an advert in itself ! All... More

we decided to stop for a meal as we had heard the fleece had been refurbished & we thought we,d give it a go. The food on offer sounded nice although there is not much choice at all in the vegetarian option, one ravioli .we ordered the roast dinners for 3 of us & the ravioli for the 4th diner.when our... The refurbishment here has been to a very high standard. The food is excellent with prices reasonable. Good choice from fish and chips to steak. Service is good and the staff are friendly. Thoroughly recommend a visit.

We had dinner at The Fleece on a Friday evening at the beginning of December, the restaurant was very busy being the start of the run up to Christmas, I must admit I was rather nervous about going as the last time we'd been, a while ago, we weren't impressed. However this time the food was gorgeous, the staff very... More

We booked in at the last minute and couldn't go in the evening because of the number of Christmas parties so we had our meal at 4 in the afternoon. We decided on the Christmas Menu and we were not disappointed. The tarte tatin was the best starter I have had in years. The decor is very nice indeed. The... More

Eight of us sat down to a family meal ( age range from mid twenties to late eighties ) at the Fleece on Saturday the 12th Dec. The place was packed and my heart sank as so many Pubs seem unable to cope with a big crowd all eating all ordering at once. I needn't have been concerned. The staff... More

recently renovated, the Fleece Inn is now a light and airy yet old style country pub with a simple menu full of hearty, good food. Pleasant efficient service from the staff and food arrived promptly. Definitely going again. The Fleece also has rooms, nit sure of tariff but based on our dining experience, a pleasant place to stay overnight I'm... More

Popped in the fleece late afternoon today for a bite to eat. It was about 4.30pm and there was no one else eating. We were told that we could only sit at a couple of tables which were right next to the kitchen door as all the other tables were reserved for the evening!!! We found this a bit odd... More

Thank you for your review. It appears we were a little over zealous reserving tables so early in the day. I think we got a little carried away with it being the first weekend in December!! We try to manage our diary to ensure we have a good mix of bookings and opportunities to just call in and dine. I'm... More
