We booked Highgate, the largest room with a terrace overlooking the garden and orchards. Gorgeous room, very light with white walls, tiled floor and light wood furnishings. Bathroom quite spacious with a large bath and separate shower. We appreciated the large communal fridge freezer in the breakfast room and the home-made ice cream was delicious. A kettle and tea and coffee were provided in the room, with extra supplies available. The Wi-Fi was free and fast and there were lots of sockets and USBs by the bed and good lighting. The walls are a bit thin and you could sometimes hear voices from next door, but luckily our neighbours were mostly quiet! Breakfast is excellent and served at staggered times to help with distancing, and I would love to know how the poached eggs are served so perfectly!…
Prior to the visit, Harriet answered my many questions promptly and helpfully. We were made to feel very welcome upon arrival. Gorgeous gardens led to the building itself. Our room was spotless and gleaming and VERY comfortable and stylish. We had a patio with a fabulous view. Excellent breakfast. Clear Covid measures in place, and great to see no single use plastic etc (shower gel, shampoo, soap and handcream all hygienically refillable. Lovely area, would recommend.
Stayed for 3 nights over the bank holiday weekend to visit a couple of National Trust estates in Kent and an organic vineyard. So pleased to have found Meadow Cottage, with its wonderful views across Kent, the Weald I believe. A warm welcome from Harriet and Oliver, who provide clean comfortable rooms with lovely amenities, homemade ice cream and great breakfasts. We really enjoyed our stay and would love to return.
We stayed 3 nights here while visiting family. The cottage is modern with stylish furnishings and lovely gardens . There are just three rooms . Care was taken to keep contact with others to a minimum by staggering breakfast times . Our room had been carefully cleaned before we arrived and we were told that no one would go into the room during our stay. We took coffee cups out to the breakfast room to be washed up and collected them later in the day. Plenty of choice for breakfast with everything freshly cooked. Guests had use of a fridge in the breakfast room for their own drinks and snacks . We were made very welcome and will book again.
We stayed here recently 8th and 9th Sep, what a delight. From the moment we arrived on the drive we felt at ease, looking around the front garden area which was tended well, to the stunning front of the property. Oliver and Harriet were very organized re the Covid situation with easy to fill in breakfast order form and timing arrangements between guests. Guests have their own shelf in the fridge which was very handy. Our room was spotless with the most stunning view over the back garden and surrounding countryside. This guesthouse deserves all the praise given by all reviews, it was perfect and will most certainly stay there again when visiting Kent again. Oliver and Harriet, we wish you well, a superb stay, thank you.
