The Casa del Puerto is located right on the beach just outside the town of Guarare. Bonnie, the host, knows the area extremely well. The house is decorated with local crafts. The veranda hammocks are welcoming. The cantina nearby serves fish freshly caught each day. Bonnie has tons of local resources to help with any activity you are interested in.

Run by an ex-Peace Corp volunteer who returned to Panama to retire. This is a very off-the-beaten-trail place, great for relaxing. A few restaurants are within walking distance. For more excitement, you can get to nearby cities by an inexpensive taxi ride. Right on the "beach" where the tide washes in. But when the tide washes out, it's a 1/2...

This is a very nice, clean, peaceful, colorful place. The attention from Bonnie was awesome. I spent several days with the wife and my sister, and looking forward to do it again, but next time would be my wife and I only. There was not complain at all. Great place to rest, and relax. highly recommend it.

We spent an excellent time with the hotel owner Mrs. Bonnie Birker, she took us around the beach, La Enea town and Guarare traditional sites, we also visited the Pollera makers, The Museum and we hab a wonderful Diablico Dance Presentation. The lodge is just like home away from home and there are a couple of nice restaurants walking distance...

We were fortunate to be able to spend two weeks with Bonnie at Casa del Puerto...she knows Panama and of equal importance Panama knows her...we were welcomed into community homes to see the real life of Panama and Bonnie helped us plan great excursions across Panama. And of course we had the opportunity to sit on the veranda and watch...

Bonnie, the owner of the B&B, is a gracious hostess. She knows the area incredibly well and has relationships with all the locals for crats and local traditions. The rooms are clean and well kept. The back veranda looks at the sea and is great for resting and reading. The breakfasts are always more than enough and coffee is always...

This was absolutely our favorite place to stay in Panama. Sadly we were only able to stay 2 nights as Bonnie, the owner, already had bookings. The appartment we stayed in had a beautiful new large bathroom, a well equiped kitchenette, good size bedroom and a large living room overlooking the beach with refreshing sea breezes coming through the screens....

Bonnie is absolutely fantastic! She is so passionate about her work in the community. She is extremely knowledgable about the traditions of Panamanian culture. If you are looking to learn about the pollera, the music, and other trademarks of the Azuero Peninsula, you NEED to go to Casa del Puerto. Peace Corps Volunteers, former Peace Corps Volunteers, and those not...

Bonnie's B&B is like being in a small town in the Midwest of the U.S., but on a beach. Friendly town to walk around. Drive to Pedasí and on to Venao, a top surfing spot.
