I stayed overnight for one night on business. The hotel is a bit stark but staff were reasonably welcoming. The corridor carpet looked as if they'd had a recent flood however! My room was a bit "tired" but spacious and clean with everything I needed generally. A bottle of water was a welcome courtesy and there were plenty of tea/coffee...

When arriving at this hotel, it seemed to have a desolate wasteland in front of it, think it was an extra car park. Drove up the road next to it to head for reception. Was worrying that it was gonna turn out to be a kind of Bates Motel!! Walked in, was i surprised, spotlessly clean reception area. One lady...

We were going to a party and stayed here for 1 night. The hotel seemed very quiet and we only saw 2 other guests. our room was spacious, Clean and comfortable. My main complaint was the shower didn't drain properly and the whole of the bathroom floor got soaked. Breakfast was freshly cooked and tasty. The whole of the hotel...

My husband and I had a wedding to go to so booked this hotel. Overall the hotel was great. It may look a bit dated from the outside but the rooms are clean and spacious. The staff were polite and check-in was quick. We even got to check in early. Considering this was by the airport it was very quite.

We booked a night previous to our holiday to Portugal as we were flying from Southend airport at 6.30 a.m. Our bed in the hotel was the best, so comfy and the room was lovely. We had the same room on our return from Portugal. It was late evening when we arrived back but we were able to book a...

We stayed in Southend area for a party and have stayed at the Skylark before. This is an unusual hotel as it looks like it should be in Spain rather than Southend. Excellent rooms and some with a balcony. We had bathrobes and slippers to use for our stay and the breakfast was fresh and tasty. Plenty of car parking...

We have stayed at the Skylark Hotel a few times before and always had an executive room which included a balcony and a view out of the front of the hotel. This time we had a fairly ordinary room and no balcony. The room was smaller than what we are used to at this hotel and the view from the...

Stopped for just one night, thank god. Extremely dated and run down hotel with no character or personality at all...looks like a bad boys camp. On arrival the Romanian receptionist was very friendly and helpful. We arrived late but just in time for food... not bad, better than we were expecting, but certainly not good and quite expensive. Room was...
