Called in here for lunch on the off-chance as we were staying elsewhere. Really enjoyed our lunch which was served to us in a friendly manner by the owner's son. The food was tasty and well priced and we would definitely return if we are in the area again.

We recently stayed here whilst our home was undergoing some works. Upon arrival the barman had no idea we were booked into the room, the manager just looked at us and said 'no youre not'.... So we then showed our booking confirmation and they had a look in the back and said 'Oh, you must be then'.... No apology, just...

Hugo and his team provide a warm welcome at this quaint English pub, located on the High Street, Halstead. Stayed over for the weekend due to our house having major works carried out, and had a great time. Great beer, food, hospitality, and stunning room overlooking the high street. They even made my wife a packed lunch as she couldn't...

Loved this place. Lovely service lovely food. Reasonably priced. Easy parking. Defo a winner. 👏 Can be rowdy as it's more a pub with seating around but as long as you don't mind this you will enjoy. I ordered the sausages with bubble & squeak and apple crumble. Both delicious

Upon checking in we were greeted by a very friendly lady who showed us up to our room. It was a big room on the front of the pub with a big sash window that overlooked the high Street of Halstead which I liked The bed was kingsize, very fresh and comfortable. The ensuite was clean but a bit tired....

When we arrived we we're greated by a member of staff who greeted us politely and showed us to the room. As a first impression i wasn't overwhelmed, but i was aware on booking that we were not expecting to be. Our reasons for staying was to meet up with a group of friends whom were staying locally. The room...

4 of us were staying here as we were attending a friends wedding at Gosfield Hall on 17/09/2015. We arrived at 6.30pm after doing a 9 hour day at work, and on first impressions the room was clean, tidy and comfortable. As we started to get ready for the evening, the shower had no hot water, so i went to...

We are very sorry that there was no hot water on this occasion. Unfortunately by the time it was brought to our attention we were unable to get a plumber out that evening. We take the comfort of out guests very seriously, so to ensure this does not happen again we are completely re-plumbing and refurbishing that bathroom putting in...

Booked a room at the White Hart Inn for a catch up with some friends and a well deserved curry! The welcome was warm and friendly, always a good start. We was shown to our room which was clean and tidy, but the real appeal was the fact the building is most definitely olde worldly. Loved the way the stairs...
