Very new management here (of only 6 weeks) - very friendly and helpful, and mentioned that they are about to begin a major revamp of the rooms. Everything that mattered was fine even if the rooms are currently a bit tired - linen and towels spotless, the bed was comfy and the water was hot. Lots of in-room treats like... More

The welcome wasn't the warmest of ones when arriving. We actually didn't really get one at all. I said oh I'm here to check into our room for the evening. I was told my card had been declined I just mentioned that it shouldn't have as I had money in my account in a surprised manner as I was quite... More

lovely pub, but tiny little room that should have been a single not a twin. No spare floor space, no wardrobe just an overdoor hook, miniscule bathroom/toilet, wifi signal varied from slow to non-existent (no excuse in this day and age, with wifi repeaters being so cheap), the room was not serviced during a 2 night stay, not even tea... The Dog Inn is a quaint old pub where I had the pleasure of staying for three nights. The lovely landlady was extremely pleasant and efficient, even though she does everything herself. The lady deserves a medal

we stayed one night at the dog inn. though the rooms were reasonable at £50 for two people, you get what you pay for. the landlady was unwelcoming and rude. the rooms were untidy and the bathroom was full of mildew. it was unlikely they had been cleaned between other stays. the toilet was dirty and the walls which were... We stayed at The Dog Inn a really quaint pub just a short walk from Trinity Street which contains shops, restaurants and pubs. A walk to the bottom of the hill and you will find yourself by the river, old mill and The Bull Inn. There is regular live music in The Dog, when we were there, a great singer... More

Went to the Dog Inn for a 2 night stay with friends middle of last month. The rooms were exceptional value for money. They were clean and had great nights sleep. Jane made us all feel so welcome from the minute we stepped through the door to the minute we left. She made us a fantastic breakfast and really looked... More
