I'd stayed here a few times when it was a Best Western property, it was in dire need of refurbishment then. Now it's run independently, and it's got worse. Upon arrival, you find that what was reception is now an abandoned desk, and reception has been moved to a small corner of the bar. Upon entering my room, it was cold and dark (for some reason there's a real lack of lights). The chair was badly stained and the bathroom bin hadn't been emptied. Not the best first impression. The general decor was bland, and the hotel in general feels very unloved. The bar is now very cramped, as you find yourself swamped by people trying to check in whilst waiting to order a drink and vica versa. Whilst the staff were all very friendly, it seems rather odd that they can each only do one job- if the barman is at the bar he doesn't know how to help with any reception issues, and if the receptionist was there she couldn't serve a drink. A lot of the time there were no staff there at all, and it took a long time to find anyone! I could go on, but I think I've said enough- I certainly wouldn't recommend the Epping Forest Hotel, and would suggest looking elsewhere.

We had to go on a business trip to the UK and we had to book really fast a hotel. We booked the hotel and the next day we've been there after midnight. The man at the reception was really kind although it was really late. Our room was really really clean and comfortable. All of the staffs were so kind and courteous to us. We rent a car and the hotel had a parking place for free. So the whole trip was perfect. If you need a good hotel in London - don't waste your time and search a long time. Just book Epping Forest Hotel and you'll be happy at all.

Despite there being a big check in desk at what looks like reception we checked in .at the bar (which does say reception as well). It was all very quickly done, our reservation was on their system and no problems for us. We had booked it with AMOMA and were a bit suspicious as they have a lot of negative reviews but to be fair it was all absolutely fine. Our room had tea/coffee, toiletries etc. No toilet roll when we arrived and it took a couple of trips to the bar to get any but otherwise it was ok, NIce breakfast, all the usual cereals, rolls and nice fruit salad. All the main breaky bits you would hope for were available, Very friendly staff checking your room number including Malathy who was lovely. Nice location, plenty of room to park and generally a decent place to stay. Just to clear up confusion this isn't a Best Western hotel anymore but used to be. Anyway, all in all we enjoyed our stay and would go back. Graham
