The Auberge Kalopetri is one of the loveliest places I have ever been to. The photos you find one the homepage and the description of the accomodation are exactly what you find in reality. The whole area of the auberge is incredibly fantastic and the best place to calm down and recreate. In my opinion you should just know that it is not a place to stay with children because there are not many activities to do on the spot. by the way you will get a very tasty breakfast with a lot of homemade food, sitting on the terrace and just enjoying the meal with such a beautiful view towards the sea. This wonderful atmosphere is created by Ulrike and Ioannis the hosts who are helpful in any situation and even serve once or twice a week a delicious meal in the evening. So don't hesitate booking because there are not too many rooms.

A dream ... Fantastic and isolated location in the middle of nature, a small beach reachable on foot (700 m) or by car (1 minute), no noise except the pleasant sounds of the animals (we loved them), few rooms furnished with very good taste and with simplicity. Excellent breakfast, always varied and with local products. A couple of times a week you can also have dinner, and we did it with great pleasure. The owners are very kind and nice, we felt welcomed, pampered and happy. In short, a dream, but only for those who know how to appreciate certain things: silence, nature, the stars, simple things.

We returned to Auberge Kalopetri after too long an absence, and found it just as attractive as we remember it. The situation is delightful; the accommodation comfortable and designed with care; the breakfasts varied with something for every taste; and the hosts Ulrike and Ioannis ever-helpful and attentive. The occasional dinners are also highly recommended. For a relaxing stay in scenic surroundings Auberge Kalopteri is exceptional.

Auberge Kalopetri is just outstanding. An uphill private road from the public road winds through trees before emerging into the calm serenity of the hotel. Ulrike had communicated with us by email and, as arranged, had left our check in info and keys at the front door. We made our way to the room which was spotless, with an outstanding view across the valley to the sea and comfortable sun beds and chairs and table too, from which to enjoy the view and the peace and quiet. The room was both cool and comfortable, and was serviced daily (very unobtrusively), often whilst we were having breakfast on the terrace. This was also outstanding and varied from day to day. Dinner is served two nights a week and we partook both times; the food then was also very authentic and great value. The wine selection was wonderful and well priced also. In terms of location, there is the taverna by the beach but this closes at 6pm, and a little further walk takes you to another handful of places, enough to keep you going for the nights they’re not serving dinner at the hotel. The castle is within easy walking distance, as is the port with daily boats to Halki where you can go for a day trip or longer. If you need laundry, a full caseload was washed, dried and folded for €12, again great value! Finally, the staff were all superb, very welcoming and friendly, what more could you ask for? To sum up, we always say the mark of a great stay is whether we’d return … in this case, we most definitely will!

We first thought of Island Hopping to see and discover the beautiful Greek islands. Usually we stay at different places to make a tour in a country. But as we needed lots of rest we decided to stay at one place and rent a car to visit one island. This was for us our first experience to stay at one place but we are so happy we made this choice ! The bungalow in the Auberge, although I would call it a boutique hotel, was foreseen from a Pinterest worthy interior, a kitchenette with all needed utensils, a bathroom with bio cotton towels and olive toiletries and a nice room with handmade beautiful lights. Breakfast was included in the price. Every day there was a different kind of speciality (cake, …), eggs, self made granola, fruits, vegetables, different kind of breads, … Twice a week the owners (Ulrike and Ioannis) cooked for their guests. We decided to stay like many other guests and do not regret! Some of the meat at the BBQ was from their goats and pigs and we also tried one evening the moussaka : delicious. Keep in mind to inform your interest in advance and reserve the dinner in advance ! As AK is not located in the city but on a hill with a beautiful view over the see it is so peaceful and relax! Every room has sea view! You need a rental car to explore the neighborhood, can be booked directly from the airport by Ulrike and Ioannis. At 700m from the Auberge is a small beach called Copria beach. We loved it! Johnny’s place offers free sunbeds in return for a lunch or drinks at their restaurant. After to have relaxed and enjoyed the quietness for a few days we were ready to discover Rhodes. The Auberge is perfectly located to discover the whole Island. And Ulrike can always show you some nice places to visit that are not always mentioned on the map! Are you looking for a place with a beautiful see view, a place to relax and unwind, with friendly owners than AK Auberge Kalopetri is the place to go !

Just back from a wonderful week at Auberge Kalopetri and this is the place to switch off and R&R especially in these crazy times. The credit of making it all happen goes to Ulrike and Ioannis the kind owners who go the extra mile to make their guests feel at home. We experienced their hospitality and look forward to returning again. We had a well decorated, breezy upper floor studio with a view to kill for. Waking up to a Sunrise of pure nature and sounds of the spectacular coast, and the occasional sounds of the rooster and Donkeys (which we enjoyed as nowadays you one doesn't have these in modern cities !) The big and hearty breakfast which filled us with energy for our exploration or lazy beach Dayton the island. Wifi worked well. The hosts gave us helpful tips about what to visit and restaurants without being imposing. This is the place if you want some peace and quiet and enjoy nature, hidden away from package tourists and noise. Efharisto/Dank U wel +100 !!!!!!!

Its a perfectly located charming accommodation. The rooms were clean and fresh and the hosts very friendly and kind and genuinely wanting to make sure all comforts were there for us. The lovely little beach is walking distant and had free shower and sunbeds. The views are priceless and indescribably beautiful from the accommodation itself. No photo can do it justice. Thank you to our hosts, hope to see you again!

I am originally from Rhodes and the West coast of the island is my favourite part!! It is mostly unspoiled and less touristic full of dramatic scenery, castles, ancient monuments, small villages with the most authentic and tasty food. We have chosen Auberge Kalopetri because we wanted to dive every day and we couldn't have found a more relaxing and wonderful place to stay!! The place is located in a beautiful spot with great views of the sea, the apartments were stylish and in keeping with the surroundings. Ulrike, the owner, is very polite and accommodating and she has made our stay memorable as she even managed to get me every day prickly pears which I adore :). Thank you so much for everything and see you next year!!

Just came back from a wonderful short vacation (4 nights) with a good friend. We enjoyed our stay so much! 40 min drive from the airport and you arrive to the beautiful valley where the Auberge is located. Car rental was arranged in advance with Ulrike, everything went smoothly, also super-friendly and professional service from J&D Rent a Car. We loved everything about the place: the location, the rooms, the food at dinner and breakfast (many home-made things), the friendliness of the owners and their staff. Follow Ulrike's tips of things to do and see or where to eat. Must eat at Taverna Paraga in Apolonna and a day trip to the beautiful island of Halki (boats leaving from nearby harbour of Kamiros Skala). We also very much enjoyed our visit to Rhodes town (1h drive). And off course I have to mention the little bay and beach of Copria. No need to look for a better beach. Crystal clear water, free sunbeds, Johnny's Taverna nearby for a drink or food. I cant wait to come again to Auberge Kalopetri!
