I surfed with Malika for 6 days while in Dakar. Marta and the team were super friendly and helpful. They brought me to several different surf spots and the coaching really helped me to improve my skills. It was also an excellent place to meet other travelers. If you are in Dakar and want to surf, I would definitely recommend it.
I absolutely enjoyed my two weeks long stay at Malika Surf Camp. The atmosphere of the camp felt like home. Marta and Aziz, as well as the staff, are one of the kindest people I've ever met. As a beginner surfer i got lots of attention during my classes and i've learnt how to deal with surfing. The Malika crew always kept us informed about our surfing spot for the next day, depending on the waves. The wide, sandy beach directly in front of the camp is clean and allows easy access along the coast. The guest rooms are very cosy and comfortable. On the rooftop there is a spacious terrace with the ocean view. It was really nice to spend evenings in the shared space with sofas, where you could meet all the other people from the camp. The fridge was always full of soft drinks and beer. Make yourself sure you'll never missed the dinner in there... it's so yummy! The real senegalese cuisine. Thank you Malika, I'll come back for sure.…
Malika Surf Camp is in an urban neigbourhood directly at the beach Yoff Plage BCEAO. You'll be instantly part of the lovely malika family and you meet a lot of nice locals here. You can book your room with surf course or yoga class included. Dakar has a many beaches to surf from beginner to professional and the malika team selects the perfect spot for the guests each day... Tours into other parts of the country can be organized on request. If you're into surfing and want to meet likeminded people, this place is highly recommended!
Very nice surf camp, directly at Yoff beach. I slept in the dorm which was basic but totally fine if you don't have super high standards. Breakfast and dinner (a chef is cooking local dishes) is included. The owners Marta and Aziz are super friendly and take care of everything. The local surf coaches are also super nice guys and help you during the classes which take place at one of the different surf spots in the area. Depending on the conditions, we drove to one of the spots, so you'll get to experience different spots which I thought was very cool. The camp has all kind of rental boards in different sizes, the equipment quality is very good. If you want to surf in Senegal I can only recommend Malika Surf Camp.
The camp is located right beside the beach and is a short taxi ride into the city so its location couldn't be more perfect for adventures. The dinners cooked every day are delicious with loads to go round. You can surf as much or as little as you want with a wide range of very good equipment provided and they also cater for all levels. The best thing about the camp though has to be the people. It has a really strong family vibe with cool characters working, volunteering and just hanging out. When you arrive you're treated as if you've been in the family all along. The only problem with staying here is you won't want to leave! I really enjoyed my stay here and hope to return soon.
Hey, if you think about surfing in Dakar don’t look any further, go just right there- you won’t be disappointed. Great place, excellent food and decent people who will make you feel so welcome. You will get this positive vibe straight after you pass the front door. I feel blessed to get there and have opportunity to spend amazing time in Senegal. 100% value for the money (it’s really affordable for everyone). Will definitely visit again, no second thought.
Me and my girlfriend stayed at the surf camp for 10 days and we've had a great time! Dinner was cooked by a local woman and it was absolutely delicious! Surf instructors were super helpful plus one of the guys actually runs a repair shop (he's done a great job on my shortboard)
I generally thanks all the team ! The program is made the day before and Marta or Aziz drive us to the spot. So you always know in the evening what's going on the day after. I really wanted to eat senegalese food, and Gracy cook so weel !! Thanks to the surf teacher too, i got really better in surf, and understanding correctly the instructions to involve my skills !! the only bad point : so tired in the last day, i probably surf too much… ! (joke)
Old pictures (nice pictures) on the website. Nothing was really good. Around the camp is also different as descriped. Never again! The owners are not really interested to satisfy their customers... I don´t understand all the good rezessions...
