Clarissa Falls has the most beautifully kept natural grounds. Kids loved all the animals- they names all the chickens, geese & turkey. Chena is just lovely and runs the accommodations and restaurant. Food is fantastic, swimming in the river (and rope swing) are great fun for the kids. Cabins are rustic, but if you’re looking for an authentic natural experience, this is perfect. Wonderful experience!
Chena is the owner of the resort and had a vision for it since she was 10 years old. The resort has an amazing layout of some very rustic authentic and comfortable jungle huts. She has a restaurant and bar that serves great drinks and amazing food. Her personality and sincere desire to make sure your trip and time there is the best it can be is what made our trip so special. We would highly recommend to anyone.
we passed by this beautiful place today to have some drinks and chill. it is located on a river that is great for swimming. they even added a rope swing which we thought was a special addition to have fun. the owner is so nice and the place is just overall welcoming. when you go there definitely try the fruitcake and/or spongecake. the margaritas were great as well. its family friendly and good for people of all ages. had an amazing time!
Ms. Chena offers wonderful hospitality, great food and lovely cabins to rest and recharge. Located on the Mopan river, it's a beautiful property that offers calm and respite from a crazy busy world. The food is excellent served in an open dining area with the sound of the river falls to calm you. You can relax in a hammock or swim in the river after a day of sight seeing. Easy to get to Xunantunich archaeological site and other must see Mayan sites. This is a lovely place filled with charm and good old fashioned warmth. I felt very welcomed and I will be back!
Clarissa Falls is located in a beautiful jungle setting. Loved everyone who worked here. It is very small but the do everything to take care of you. Their restaurant was exceptional. The breakfast omelet was so so good. My daughter and granddaughter both enjoyed it also. It isn't luxuries but you don't need luxury when in the jungle. The sound of the river is all you need.
Chena was a very special personal - welcomed us to Belize and then we saw her at the airport when we were living. She loves plants, as did we, and shared information about them. Food was great; she was a gracious, accommodating hostess. Fish stew was out of this world. Nice location for exploring the area. She was helpful in setting up horse rides to Xunantanich. The huts sort of had a river view, but the sound of the river was really nice to hear. The setting looked like a jungle garden, very unique.
We stopped to see the falls and found this beautiful property! We had the best pina coladas ever made by the super nice and friendly owner. There was beautiful scenery and lots of animals around, even a rooster in a tree.
We stopped here to eat on our way to the Belize Zoo, and the food was amazing. The owner was so sweet, she gave us a ride to the bus station. And you can swim in the river running through the back of her property!
We spent a night here after a full day of adventures in Cayo district. Quiet, peaceful, with a gentle swim in the river near Clarissa Falls. Meals prepared family style were generous and nutritious. Room was clean and hospitality warm and welcoming!
This resort is away from the noise of the town but you hear the running river, geckos and lots of different birds. We stayed in a hut big enough for our family of 5. It had everything that we needed. I don't think it had air conditioning but there were two fans in our room. We did not feel hot. In fact we had to use blankets. The owner Azucena was really hospitable and made amazingly delicious food and cocktail. We normally enjoy checking out different local flavors but we ended up eating all our meals prepared there. Our picky children devoured whatever they ordered and enjoyed drinking fresh fruit juice and milk shakes. When she realized we were going to visit Caracol, she packed our lunches in a cooler with frozen water bottles to keep the food cool. We had no idea that there were no stores at Caracol. We swam at the river and also rented the water tubes. Her dogs were swimming with us too. Some of the cattle came by the river to drink water. The water fall is not tall but it was fun. Chena suggested that we go to St Herman's cave and Blue Hole on our way back to Belize City. Her recommendation was spot on. We did not have much time but whole trip was fun, easy and memorable. I titled the review glamping - glamorous camping because it felt like sleep away camping from your childhood. If you are wanting glamorous resort with soaking tubs, this is not it. This place is rustic.…
