When we were there, staff was always around and they were very friendly and helpful. It was also clean and even though we were only there for one night, we saw the staff cleaning more than once. There's a small kitchen and a terrace, and our dorm room had a tiny balcony. There's a water refill station for a small...

I would"t stay Here. There is No TV Room and breakfast is not included, on top of that the Room is on the streetside. Which makes it really noisy. Ok it is cheap, but I would stay somewhere else. I die not have a goodnight here

I'm a low maintenence traveler and am not in the habit of giving bad reviews, but this was the worst hostel I've stayed at. I stayed in a dorm which is cramped and extremely hot. I couldn't sleep at all because of the heat. There are fans that you can turn on, but they're very loud and don't do much...

The private room we had was OK with a small balcony overlooking the street where we had our beer in the evening. Fortunately, the street wasn’t noisy at night. The furniture was very basic, a bed and a bunkbed, there was also a fan. The shared bathroom was small and quite clean. The entrance door is in fact not a...

The hostel wasn't dirty and at MX100 per night that's always a plus, it's also right by the main square but the rooms are v. hot, there's only one bathroom and there seemed to be no other guests except a pre-teen looking couple who I got the feeling may have been renting a room by the hour. I ended up...

Very cramped female dorms. Only bathroom directly across the hall is really grungy looking and so I chose not to use the shower facilities. Kitchen did not look very clean. I planned on staying longer but left after one night. Price was low but I have stayed in other hostels for the same price and received better attention and used...

Friendly reception, very basic amenities. Only one bathroom - that's the worse part. But I got a large private room for 300 pesos, with a small balcony with view on parts of the zocalo. The bed was not great, but I've had worse. Had both a ceiling and personal fan. I would recommend it to people looking for basic amenities...

The title of this review is the tought that came te mind when i woke up in this place. Was it the harsh morning light? No, it was reality... We booked a room, that was actually quit dirty, and i don't remember how much i payed, but it was too much. All you get is a room with a bed...

Hostel has a perfect location, just in front of the main square, but, there is not pipe on the sink at the kitchen and thats why its always wet, there is no forks, knife, spoons and forget about tools to cook, only 3 chairs at the terrace and staff is always sleeping or playing with the computer.

Unfortunately we have an old lonely planet. The real Monkey Hostel is closed and this new copycat one is just crappy: tiny kitchen and horribly equipped, empty rooftop without a view on the plaza principal, horribly boring staff (!) that sleep (with girlfriend) in the dorms themselves, no common area or computer. WiFi works fine but no Skype. Overall its...
