We appreciated our stay at the Gamma. The location is a short walk to the must-see places around town yet quiet. Rooms were just what we needed for the night, with the bonus of a balcony; we chose a partial ocean view room. Beds were comfortable and just what we needed. We didn't try the breakfast buffet nor the used the pool, though.

We stayed here for 2 nights on our roadtrip around the Yucatan peninsula. The hotel is located across the main road from the waterfront (no beach) and about 5 minutes walk from the quaint old town where you'll find plenty of eateries.
On first entry the hotel appears fairly modern but the bedrooms feel somewhat dated with broken tiles on the bathroom floor, fixtures and fittings that have seen better days and a bed that was a bit on the soft side. Our original room was right next to the elevators and you could clearly hear them going up and down all the time so we asked to be moved and they helpfully gave us a room away from the elevators. In common with most of the rooms there was no furniture on the balcony so when we asked for some seats they brought us what can only be described as dining room chairs! The room had a safe (although you need to get a key from reception) and tea & coffee making facilities.
There's a good sized swimming pool with a bar and food service and plenty of sunbeds but it falls into shade by mid afternoon.
What really stood out was the helpfulness of the staff. My wife had brilliantly left her mobile phone at Uxmal earlier in the day and along with trying to contact Uxmal for us to see if it had been handed in (it hadn't) they were more than willing to allow a number of complimentary phone calls to the UK to cancel/suspend various accounts (thank you again).
Overall this is a good choice in Campeche but I feel like the staff deserve a hotel that is a little more up to date.

We chose this hotel as we felt we just wanted somewhere not in the old town. Turned out to be a good choice- very clean and comfortable, our room (315) had a balcony with a view of the malecón and the sea. As an extra bonus we could also see the musical fountain show each evening! There was a kettle and Nespresso machine at the end of the corridor so we could have hot drinks anytime. You get the lock and key to the room safe from reception, so your valuables are safe. We thought the breakfast buffet was not worth the price. There are plenty of options in the old town, 5 minutes walk away. The swimming pool was closed for maintenance when we were there, so should be pristine when you go! The sea here is not for swimming in.

The hotel has lots going on in the plus column; great location just steps away from the old town, bay views, decent air conditioning, nice water pressure and comfy beds.
We understand with the number of people in town to view the annular eclipse, they may have been off their game, but the service in the restaurant was insane. We were asked to take a seat at a table with dirty dishes and used napkins. There were lots of workers bustling around but hadn’t noticed much going on as far as clearing tables or refilling coffees, etc. They had some fresh fruit but the other choices were dismal and their juice was nothing but sugary water. When we got the check for the breakfast buffet, we were astonished at the price of $650 for two.
So in short, we’d stay at the hotel again but no way would we waste our money having breakfast there again.

On a tour of Mexico, we arrived here tired, after a long day travelling.
By 10pm my wife was sound asleep, I was just dropping off when the music started. It was so loud it made the furniture vibrate. Amazingly, my wife didn't wake.
At 11pm I went to complain, the music was coming from a function room within the hotel. They did offer to move us, I went to see if my wife had been woken, but she slept on.
Unfortunately, by midnight we were both awake and the music played on. We considered taking g up the offer of a move but thought it was bound to finish soon, and we had an early start in the morning.
The music finished at 4am.
Several questions come to mind. Why let out rooms above the loud music if other rooms were available? Why allow music to be played that loud within a hotel if it was bound to disturb those trying to get a night's sleep? After all, what is a hotel for, if not for having somewhere to sleep?
Then we got up for breakfast after just two hours sleep. That didn't help our mood. Being vegetarian is our choice, but there's usually something we can choose. Even the eggs had bits of meat in.
We had fruit then tried the pancakes and cinnamon toast. I'm sure the pancakes were light and fluffy when they were made, but that was probably several hours previously. The cinnamon toast varied between too chewy to eat, to so hard it treated to dislodge my fillings.
If we weren't so tired (and angry) I think we could probably have asked for fresh pancakes, or plain eggs.

The hotel pool was out of use we were not told this at time of booking, we stayed 4 nights and no work appeared to be going on in the pool. There was construction on a different wing of the floor we were on but at the end of the day the dust mats etc were just left there. A lack of care. The balcony had a nice view of the sea but there were no chairs on the balcony. I don’t know why this is? Hairdryer removed from wall in bathroom and not replaced, none of the drawers fitted properly. The waiting staff in the dining room were very good at times and others very poor (at dinner time) breakfast was good. If you need to change a $500 mex. Don’t ask the never smiling receptionists as they don’t have any change I tried on two different days. The door staff were very pleasant and helpful My room was clean .
The location of this hotel is very good, it is easy to get into the old town and is right on the Malecon which you can stroll along

The hotel is located very conveniently near a main entrance to the charming Centro. We requested a pool/ocean view which was nice and we greatly appreciated the cooling breeze. The staff is very nice and accommodating. The hotel is very clean as they take covid seriously. There is ample room for parking on site. I do wish the rooms had a refrigerator and the pool area had more plants and more umbrellas.

Something interesting happened here.
At the beginning, my husband and I, have booked a room in this hotel for a night because we read that wifi was ok. The room seemed dated, but because of the view, the space, the large bathroom, we agreed to stay one night.
While walking in the historical centre, we also visited other well rated hotels in Campeche. Not only that they were empty, but they looked horrible, with no breakfast, no view, no space in the room or the bathroom.
We came back after that walking tour very happy about the decision of staying at Gamma. It was really the best you can find in the area...so we booked other 3 more nights.
The shower was hot, the room was having space, the bed was so comfortable and the view....amazing. The breakfast was very good (american breakfast with coffee, juice, plate of fruits, eggs, butter) and the staff was also very nice.
It was an excellent decision to stay here!

Stayed here because it is a short stroll to the colonial town. % minutes at most.
The hotel has renovated the communal areas but the pool had at least 50% broken beds.
The rooms are quite dated. Small bathrooms with shower curtains. The hotel overlooks the Malecon which is good for walking. Reception staff OK.

Hotel chosen by the tour operator, on the sea and a stone's throw from the central pizza. The sea view room was passable although the corridor to reach it really degraded. The staff is friendly, breakfast has the limit that the wide choice of savoury dishes do not fit into the tastes of us Europeans. For a two-night pass you can fit.
