The team at Giant’s Foot Surf Camp is simply the best! I felt 100% safe, welcome, well taken care of and part of the family. I am counting the days until I can return! The food, the accommodations, the surfing, the yoga, burger night and the transportation to/from Managua made this a 5 star experience that I cannot recommend highly enough.

Giant’s Foot Surf is incredible, cannot recommend it enough! I went in August 2023 for a week and had such an amazing time. Tara & Trevor are the most welcoming hosts, ensuring that you have the best stay possible. We encountered some difficult weather during our stay, and they made sure we still got the most out of our trip. They truly went above and beyond! All of the staff at GFS is wonderful. Staff made the most delicious meals 3 times a day. The volunteers (shoutout to Izzy & Lachy) were the best!! And GFS has the best surf guides in town, they are great teachers and very patient. I am very much a beginner, and they were sure to be with me every step of the way. I would absolutely recommend going to GFS if you are looking into it. Playa Gigante is the most amazing little beach town, it is incredibly safe, and the accommodations at GFS are perfect. Whether you are a beginner or very experienced, traveling alone or with a group, GFS will meet your needs. I hope to be back one day soon!

As an experienced surfer you want to be surfing the best waves in the area at the best times possible, the crew at Giants Foot make this their priority! I stayed with my partner (beginner level surfer) and also two seperate groups of guests with varying abilities, I was a little nervous at first thinking that we were only going to surf the softer waves due to the lower level ability with the other surfers, but this was not the case. After the first session where we all surfed together at a softer wave, the crew saw that I could handle myself and I, with a seperate guide, would surf the heavier and more advanced waves, and the beginner/intermediate surfers, with the other guide, would surf the softer and easier waves. Playa Gigante is a spectacular beach and small quaint town with such a nice feel, it is perfectly located in between the best breaks in the area. Three of the better breaks are boat only access, which means that Giants Foot has no issue taking the boat around to these spots and letting you surf for as long as you wish. They even travel a fair way north up to Playgrounds and Lances Lefts if they know it will be better up there, they pack a lunch, ice cold beers and plenty of snacks for this journey! The owners Trevor and Tara are incredibly hospitable and make sure that you're comfortable and happy in every way possible. The staff are super friendly and they make the perfect food to re-fuel before heading out for another session. There's even a camp cat that makes sure everything is running smooth and some local dogs that stop in to say hello on burger night. I couldn't recommend the place any higher to cater for all levels of surfer, their coaching/teaching/wave knowledge is all five star, as well as their attention to detail with your own experience. We will definitely be returning!

I took about a week surf trip out to Nicaragua in between jobs in August '23. I chose Giant's Foot as this place was all inclusive, perfectly placed with access to great breaks, had a ton of great reviews, had an improvement programme, and felt they had a small and familial vibe. The spot is in a tremendous location and is in the heart of the quiet and quaint Playa Gigante! The spot is right on the beach and the sunsets are spectacular. When you stay there, all the rooms have AC and you can hear the shorebreak from your room. Showers and bathroom were fully working and fantastic to use. I had tons of fresh food from the amazing staff and everyone - from Tara and Trevor, to Kevin and Alex, to the Geert and Kya, were your family for the entire stay. The surf itself is hugely varied with reefs, beaches, and a few points if the swell is high enough. I definitely improved during this trip and our Guides (Kevin and Alex) were so helpful and knowledgeable not only about what you can do to improve but getting you out there by boat, by car, or by any means possible. It was an awesome surf trip. I will definitely go back and bring friends if I can - it really is that great of a place.

We had the father-son trip of a lifetime. I’m 56 (perpetual beginner) and my son is 19 ( strong intermediate.). GFS made sure there was something for everyone, all the time. Kevin is a master instructor. Alex is a talented surfer. They are both fun, patient, understanding and analytical. The video feedback was highly valuable. They took great video and gave constructive feedback. Trevor and Tara took care of us, making sure our needs were met and we were happy. We surfed a ton, hung out in the hammocks, and at night played Jenga and fuse ball. GFS was welcoming and kind. We had a blast.

Giants Foot surf gave me the opportunity to catch THE WAVE OF MY LIFE!!! I am so stoked to have found such an awesome surf camp that not only puts so much effort into each guest but makes sure you get the most out of each surf trip. The seamless transition from boat to surf and sunset is great. I can’t wait to come back again with all my friends and have a girls surf trip!!! The trip to Panga Drops where I got the best ride of my life was unforgettable. THANK YOU GFS!!!

I was a bit nervous going to rural Nicaragua as a solo female traveller, but this place felt safe, and the owners and surf guides felt like family. This was probably the best and most fun surf trip I have ever taken and I will definitely be coming back again. Tara & Trevor (owners) are so kind and welcoming, and took care of every concern, even the ones that didn't exist. Every morning Trevor would open me a fresh, cold coconut without me even asking! The 3 surf guides that work at GFS (Kevin, Alex & Eduardo) are all super knowledgable and will make sure you catch waves at a safe break, no matter your level. The food was wonderful and PLENTIFUL, unlimited beverages, and an absolutely beautiful beach front accommodation. I really have nothing negative to say. Accommodations are basic, but have everything you will need, and hey, you're in rural Nicaragua! You're there to spend time in the ocean, not lay on your (very comfortable) bed, except when you're catching zzz's to gear up for the next day of epic surf. Highly HIGHLY recommend GFS :) - oh also, there are 2 dogs and a cat on sight that are so cute and friendly, and I would highly recommend going for a sunset swim every day. The water is magical

I spent 3 weeks at Giants Foot as a photographer. I had a really amazing time. The beachfront location is perfect, there are so many different breaks to surf, the food is amazing, boats rides were really special, Gigante is a great little town away from tourists, but the best thing was of course the people. Thanks Tara, Trevor and the local surf instructors Kevin, Alex and Eduardo for making my time so memorable.

This surf camp located on Playa Gigante in Nicaragua is just amazing. If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the daily grind of life and leave the condos and hassles of vacation rentals behind - this place and way to do it. Tara, Trevor and the entire crew make it a true mission to ensure your surf vacation and experience is as enjoyable as can be. I was asked more than once if there was anything they could do to make my visit more enjoyable. They never quit. Surf not good at one spot, bam we take the boat to another. No surf? We fished and scored lunch that was cooked that day. Tired from 2-3 surfs a day, get a massage on the beach side second story deck. Want to do something other than surf, they have a list of extra stuff to do, including onsite yoga and visiting an active volcano. But what makes this place so special is the unique bond you get with the entire staff. I made new friends and I can’t wait to go back to see them. And with their certified surfing instructors and access to surf spots for all levels, I am planning on bringing the entire family down. And we can’t wait.

Caring and genuine staff. Cool place, a bit off the beaten track but exactly what I was looking for. Surfing, fishing, horse riding, all exciting and well planned. Kevin and Alex are patient and able to surf instructors with a great sense of humor. Trev and Tera are gracious hosts and very hospitable.
