Mayo Resort is a boutique beachfront resort with luxury accommodation, and a spectacular waterfront bar and restaurant with seating for up to 40. We are on the north coast of Bali, only 20 minutes from the bustling beachfront town of Lovina and 45 minutes from Pemuteran and Menjengan in the West Bali National Park, Bali's premier diving destinations. This is the quiet and unspoilt and less commercial side of Bali. It is a magical area, one where nature and humanity co-exist in perfect harmony, yet is less than three hours’ drive from Kuta and Seminyak. Mayo Resort is the ideal venue for a truly relaxing holiday, or short break, and a spectacular but very practical location for private celebrations or corporate events. We are located at the tip of a headland, where the Bali Sea surrounds us on three sides. We are blessed with stunning views of the sea in one direction, and in the other mountains, temples, rice fields and vineyards. Not to mention miles of almost-deserted beaches. It is a truly privileged location; a neighbourhood of luxury resorts, and exclusive private villas, set amid rolling hills, this area has long been a refuge for those seeking inner peace and meditation, and is now becoming known as a destination for wellness tourism - yoga sessions, traditional Chinese medicine and detox programmes, are all available within a few minutes'walk. Only the coral reefs lie in between you and the resplendent blue of the sea. With a shoreline stretching the entire length of our property, and the Purijati diving area only a short walk away, you will enjoy an intimate connection with the water that few other resorts or hotels can offer. We live in a rainshadow, so we enjoy an unusually sunny and dry microclimate, at the same time we are tempered by the cool sea breezes The sunsets will mesmerize you; each day you will be witness to a three-hour long ritual that begins when the sun has fallen low enough to reflect off the sea and create a shimmering light that will raise your spirits and enhance your well-being, and which lasts until a fiery red disc sinks below the volcanos of east Java and the rolling hills of west Bali in the far distance. Our Accommodation comprises 4 double-bed and 1 twin-bed Studio rooms, a 2-bedroom family apartment and a 2-bedroom villa in its own private setting. All our rooms have unobstructed panoramic ocean views, with lush gardens and a swimming pool in the foreground. All are large enough to accommodate an additional bed if needed. Simply unpack, lie back and relax. Our Restaurant and Bar is beautifully positioned to capture the view of the sea. We are open all day, and with an extensive menu of international and local dishes and a well-stocked bar, there is no better place to wine, dine and unwind. Mayo Resort is a perfect venue for that special private function or celebration. We will cater for weddings, birthday parties, family reunions, company retreats, fashion and cultural shows and special interest groups, with attractive accommodation packages available. Come and host and toast, we do the rest!

I wish we could stay longer, but we're in short trip. Spent one night at the 2 bedroom family suite, interior design was pretty, clean, and most important thing was the sea view! Amazing and you feel like it's your own private beach. Rooms size was huge, you got indoor living room with sofa and coffee table, outdoor round table for dining or just sit (I used it for work too!).
However, please keep in mind that because it's a secluded villa, it took 10-minutes of driving through a narrow & quite steep street from the main road, and it was dark at night. Plan carefully for your dinner, i'm not sure if the restaurant available 24 hours and the nearest decent restaurants are around 20-30 minutes drive.
We've inspect few larger hotels around the area previously, the pictures looks good, the reality might not. At Mayo, what you see in the pictures, that's what you'll see in real.

Thank you for your kind and helpful review. Delighted that you enjoyed your stay, we hope you can come back again and stay for longer. Your comment on our Restaurant Bora Bora, Bar & Bistro by the Beach, is well noted. It is open daily from 7.30am until 9.00pm last food order, and closes at 10pm. Regarding the location, our resort is 2km from the main road, and 4km from Seririt where there are shops, supermarket, pharmacy and an ATM. The access road is well paved and is not a challenge for any driver, but we are in discussion with the local council to improve the street lighting, and to trim back the overhanging branches. Most importantly we are glad that you feel the journey, the extra mile so to speak, was worth the effort. Thank you again for taking the trouble to share your thoughts.

This was, I think, my fourth visit to Mayo and it did not disappoint. What really stands out apart from the obvious breathtaking vistas are the Mayo Staff and team. They strike a wonderfully intuitive balance between friendliness, service and accommodation, whilst never becoming overly familiar or invading your personal space. (Sometimes it’s nice to be alone!)

The resort also seems to attract a similar clientele, everyone is very respectful of the other guests.

For a small resort, there are enough spaces to sit and never feel like you’re encroaching.

The restaurant has a stunning outlook with a well priced mix of local and international dishes.

Check in and checkout is a seamless affair and I am counting the days until I return.

we stayed for 6 days in REsort and enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere. The staff was balinese style friendly and attentive and were very welcoming. The food was great so we did not need to find outside restaurants as the area is more quiet. We did Dolphin watching tour and some excoursions. The tastefully decorated Resort creates a warm atmosphere.

The Mayo resort was the perfect place to just stop and rejuvenate. The only noise that could be heard was made by the ocean waves, wind on leaves, birds and local wildlife.
If you want to go shopping or play sightseeing tourist you’ll have to hire a scooter or organise a taxi.
The staff were all locals and couldn’t do enough for you when you needed them. They do leave you alone to enjoy the serenity of the place.
The place needs to add a few ramps for wheelchair access which will turn the place into the perfect destination for families with disabilities.
Will definitely be back again!

Our extended family stayed here for two nights....but I wish we'd stayed longer. This is a very small resort with perhaps rooms for about 20 people. The various buildings...identified by color, are nicely decorated and well maintained. There is a beautiful pool between the buildings with a deep end and half-submerged table at the other.

The open air restaurant looks out over the ocean and you can see the sunsets from here. There are no busy streets or much of anything other than rice paddies around the property. This make it a very calm and relaxing place to stay. If you want noise and excitement, this is not your place. But if you see quite, the water, and sunsets you will not be disappointed.

The restaurant has a range of meals from local to western. I had the most wonderful watermelon salad on my first day. However, pandemic shortages and a lack of guests meant that all menu options may not be available. I discovered this when I wanted to repeat my salad experience later in our stay. Hopefully, this problem will go away as the tourists return to Bali.

The breakfast plate was also yummy and a great start to the day.

I went diving about an our down the coast, but the rest of the family stayed at the resort and just relaxed. When its not high tide, you can go out and enjoy the beach area.

I hope to be back to Mayo on my next trip to Bali.

We had such a pleasant and enjoyable stay at the Mayo Resort in North Bali. The management and staff are gracious people who are running an excellent operation. The grounds of the resort are literally on the water, with beach access and sweeping views of the ocean, and on a clear day you can see the tip of the island of Java (which looks a lot like the island of Bora Bora, the restaurant on site). The Mayo Resort staff are all very friendly and professional and made us feel comfortable, like family. The food at Bora Bora is also great, definitely the best restaurant in the area serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We plan on coming back again to North Bali and staying again at the Mayo Resort. Aloha and mahalo 🙏🏼

We stayed three nights in an ocean studio with our two children (8 and 13). The small hotel is very nice, away from the hustle and bustle, right on the beach. The rooms offer great views of the pretty pool and the sea. It's wonderfully quiet here and the restaurant offers delicious food.
We went on a dolphin-watching tour from the hotel and can warmly recommend it. We had been picked up from a small fishing boat at 6am in front of the hotel and were able to spot a number of dolphins at sunrise! An unforgettable experience!
It is also very worthwhile to borrow snorkeling equipment from reception (free, but not in top condition) and thus admire the reef with its many colored fish, starfish, sea urchins and corals directly from the beach!
The only downsize is that the beach is very dirty, full of waste and plastic.
Nevertheless, we can recommend all tourists to spend a few quiet days at the Mayo Resort!

The Mayo resort is a real gem. Away from the tourist crowds and on the edge of a black sand beach looking out at local fishing boats bobbing in the sparkling sea. The family suite was wonderfully luxurious with deep sofas and huge beds. And the pool and loungers were the perfect place to cool down in the afternoon. Plenty of local activities which the wonderfully helpful staff recommended, we even swam with turtles off Menjangan island! Food at Bora Bora restaurant was delicious and the staff were so kind and friendly throughout our stay.

Hi. is this place kids (7 years old) friendly? is it easy to find meal around the hotel?
Answer from Sumitra J

Children of that age are more than welcome. They will particularly enjoy the beach and walking on the rocks, as well as the many board games and DVDs that we have available, and they will love the pizzas served in our restaurant. Each guest room has a sofa bed, which is ideal to accommodate a child. If they want to indulge in watersports there is a watersports centre about 8km away, we are Premium members so can organise free transport and discount. And a great funfair close by. Other day trips that would interest them would include the Krisna Adventure Park and nearby waterfalls. Please advise us of your dates and number of guests in your group.

Dear Dan H Thank you for taking the trouble to review our resort and for your kind words about our restaurant and service, and the villa where you stayed. We are sorry to learn of your disappointment regarding the beach. It is most unfortunate that you arrived the same day we had an exceptionally bad deposit of litter (a problem all across Bali and Java), and it was also the same day that our beach cleaning staff took their day off. If you came today (24 August) you would be mesmerised at the difference. FYI we are actively campaigning to the local authorities about the need to address this issue, and finally after months of effort we are seeing a change of mindset in the corridors of power and action plans are being hatched at an unprecedented rate to deal with refuse to the same standards as the EU, and to clean up the beaches and rivers. The power plant you mention is 8km away, far away in the distance. Commissioned only one year ago, it is state of the art technology and one of the cleanest anywhere in the world, emissions are far less than the neighbouring rice fields when they burn their stubble. At night, when it is lit up, it provides an attractive addition to the sea view. Guests who stay here appreciate the quiet, the seclusion, the sunsets and the great food, and they spend their days bere exploring the area, along the coast and inland, and on the water too. There is so much to do and see including water sports, dolphin watching, fishing, trekking, cycling, cultural pursuits and sightseeing. Your primary objective was to go snorkelling. We offer great snorkelling in front of our property (at its best about 50m away from the shoreline and in the early morning), but sadly the day you tried it was one of the few days in the year when the conditions were not good. That said we do not promote snorkelling as the primary reason for choosing our resort but it is one of the many activities we recommend you do during your stay, and we provide the equipment free of charge. If snorkelling is something you want to do every day to the exclusion of other pursuits or activities, there are many other destinations that you should consider and they are not in Bali. With kind regards Mayo Resort
