Third time at this incredible place! The Sanctuary is a great escape and place to head for pumping waves. This place and staff are world class. You CAN NOT go wrong with the No Worries Package. As soon as we exited the airport they were there to meet us and grab our gear. Got us to the waves quick fast and in a hurry. Surfed from sunrise till sunset on pumping uncrowned waves. The food was great and the Tońa was ice cold. Can’t thank the staff here enough they always make our stay here amazing. You can be sure you will leave surfed out. Thank you Nancy Tony Rails and Jan for everything and all the other staff that make it possible!

The Surf Sanctuary is exactly as it sounds. A true sanctuary. The hosts felt like family at the end of my stay. Nothing I’ve experienced before staying somewhere on vacation. It was my first time in Nicaragua and thanks to this place and the people of this place, I will be returning at least once a year for the rest of my life. Thank you to all the staff for showing us that Nicaragua is NOT a dangerous place and that tourist like myself are welcomed with arms wide opened. Best waves! Best people! Best staff! Best resort!!!!! I can’t wait to come back. Cheers to Tony, Nancy, Rails, and last but not least, Jan! (Pronounced Yon) Our ultimate surf guide putting us on the perfect waves and showing us how beautiful Nicaragua truly is.

My stay at The Surf Sanctuary was great! Tony and his team were awesome hosts and even made a surfer from the Great Lakes feel like part of the family. The accommodations were clean and the food was made with fresh local ingredients. We felt safe throughout our trip and scored some great waves thanks to Tony's local knowledge. Highly recommend and will be back again!

I stayed at Surf Sanctuary with a fairly large group of Christian Surfers and OneWorld Health Volunterrs in Nicaragua for mission work. The surf sanctuary was such a wonderful place to come back to and to eat our meals at. The food was so good and it replenished us after it early morning of Surfing and a long day of Clinic work. It really was an oasis to come back to and a short walk to Playa Santana to watch the sunset if we got back in time. They went above and beyond to make sure that every member of our team was taken care of. That's a tall order. We had families and single people and teenagers haha. They offer a very friendly and embracing environment. I went with a group but I would feel totally safe staying at the surf sanctuary as a single female. I travel a lot of places and know that I would have felt taken care of there and I would have been able to find Community there. The people that run the sanctuary and the couple that live on the property and fix amazing meals welcome you and make you feel at home.

The Surf Sanctuary is a welcoming resort that quickly feels like home, thanks especially to owners, Tony and Nancy. They designed it to be a refuge for people--notably surfers--who intend to spend most of their time enjoying the stunning natural resources of the area and property, so while comfortable, don't expect overly luxurious in-room amenities or connectivity options. But while you can connect to wi-fi in the common areas to check in with home periodically, you'll be missing out if you're not dedicating most of that time to engaging with your hosts and other guests, eating a thoughtfully prepared meal, sunning or swimming in the pool, getting a massage, taking a yoga class, playing a game of ping-pong or pool, or better yet, napping enveloped in one of several hammocks. Of course, the greatest features that The Surf Sanctuary has to offer may be outside of the resort proper--world-class surfing a short walk away, horseback riding, fishing, zip-lining or any number of other excursions that Tony and Nancy will be happy to arrange.
