The Nicarao Inn Hotel is located near several restaurants and shops in Rivas. The hotel is very clean and has large rooms, including the bathroom. It is not worth waking up for the free breakfast, which is juice and fruit. While we were there, the hotel lost electricity, which means no air conditioner. Other than that, it was a good stay. While the staff did not know English and we did not know Spanish, things went well.
We ate at the hotel, as the exterior looks inviting. The dining tables are right next to the busy road and street vendors will harass you constantly while dining. There seems to be only one person being the waiter who also prepares the plates. That does not excuse that we were the first ones to enter an empty restaurant - to be served last. After us, 2 families entered and sat at two separate tables. They were eating the appetizers when our order was taken. By the time we got the food, the other parties had already left. To make matters worse, one of the plates had ants crawling all over them! When we got the bill, it had the appetizer we had ordered, but never gotten. They still charged us, claiming they did not speak English. A very disappointing visit - we can not recommend going there.…
I had to go to Rivas to get my daughter after she had emergency surgery at the local hospital while on vacation. I stayed at the Nicarao Inn Hotel right in the middle of town and it was a great location for getting around. It was very reasonable, and clean even though it needs updating. The people were wonderfully accommodating and it was great to have air conditioning in the midst of 93 degree weather.
Nicarao Inn is situated in the heart of Rivas, very close to the central square, within walking distance from the main market and the bus terminal. It's a typical business hotel, they serve decent breakfast, provide free Wifi, friendly service and a nice terrace up front to relax in the evening. Rooms are a bit small but comfortable and clean. One of the better options in Rivas.
This little hotel is very typical of the small hotels in Nicaragua. Very clean with a beautiful lobby, dining room and hall way. Rooms are clean and comfortable and standard in size (just room enough). WIFI was dependable and the staff was helpful enough. Since the hotel is located in the center of Rivas, the lobby and dining areas are quite noisy due to street noise. PALI (grocery store) is next door which is convenient. Across the street is a great bakery. Be aware that only breakfast is served. For lunch and dinner, order from one of the local restaurants that deliver.
stayed here for 1 night after a long bus ride the lobby is nice but the rooms very small indeed for 70 usd a night i would have expected alot more not nice staff and boring town i would avoid this place at all costs.
The lobby and hallway look beautiful so you would expect the rooms are nice but they are absolutely not! Very small rooms with a tiny window! It's like a prison. There is hot water but that is the only positive. Breakfast is good but for fruit you pay extra. Staff is very unfriendly! So it is just too expensive for what you get. I would really advise against this hotel !!
we did not stay here but stopped for breakfast on our way to Granada. I thought the lobby and dining area were very nicely decorated and clean. The bathroom was clean and the sink beautiful with a mirror. The waiter was attentive and menu included multiple breakfast options at cheap prices. Our group ordered scrambled eggs with bacon, sausage and salsa, pancakes with honey, toasts with jam, coffee and juice. Everyone gave thumbs up for the food including our 9 year old. The location is good, close to the central square.
It is pricey but quite deservedly. It is central, clean, comfortable and offers hot-water showers (rare in Nicaragua), A/C, a complimentary breakfast. Worth a try. Rivas apparently didn't offer much choice in terms of accomodation, and at least it's close to the main square.
the hotel looks nice on the outside. also the lobby and the hallway are well. The rooms are poor, small and need an upscale. There is airco and a TV. The staff is friendly. And there is a big closed parking place.
